Custom 2 bedroom, 2 bath, modern mountain home with great view and waterfall
This new home is located on the brow of Lookout Mountain beside the world famous Rock City destination, within 5-10 minutes of driving time from downtown Chattanooga. With a 100 foot waterfall on the property and private trails that lead you along the bottom of the beautiful cliff, it's hard to find a reason to leave once you arrive! The home is newly built and features a large open floor plan main living area. Nano doors accordion open to reveal 30+ feet of open air that lead you onto a 800 square foot deck overlooking the valley floor. A stone outdoor fireplace is located on the deck to keep you warm at night, complete with outdoor lighting and speakers.
Inside the kitchen features all stainless steel appliance and commercial grade stainless steel countertops. The island also acts as a great bar area for lounging while cooking dinner.
The guest bedroom is cozy with a queen size bed and it's own private bathroom.
The master bedroom steals the thunder from the rest of the house. Lined with windows facing the valley floor, you are woken in the morning by beautiful sunrises and put to sleep at night with the sound of the waterfall flowing beside the house. French doors open from the master bedroom and lead you out onto the deck. The master bath features a walk in shower, and a large soaking tub. A walk in closet provides all the space you need for your amenities.
Other attractions located by the house are Ruby Falls, Cloudland Canyon State Park, Chickamauga Battlefield Park, Chattanooga Nature Center, and the Lookout Mountain Golf Club. Within in 5 - 10 minutes, however, you can find yourself back downtown and in the middle of everything.
Outdoor enthusiasts will be more than pleased with the rock climbing, hiking, cycling, and running available from the front door of the house.

Just awesome, and so relaxing. Amazing
This was our second stay at a property belong to Sam, and it was just as perfect, and perfectly detailed as the first. Truly, every good thing that has been said by previous guests is applicable, and then some. The attention "to the details" by Sam and his staff is evident from the moment you drive up..what an immaculately kept, and welcoming, site. Plants (well-trimmed) everywhere, stepping stones, raked gravel driveway...it all just sets the stage for when you first open the door and find yourself catching your breath at the view as the space reveals itself. There isn't a single beam, pole, wall, or anything else that blocks your view. The nana-wall/doors almost disappear, and the curving deck with the almost-not-there "railing" draws your eye to the mountains beyond. You just kind'ave stand there for a moment, or two.
Exploring the house is incredible, and with every turn you see something else that evidences the thought put in to the home (which was designed and built BY the innkeeper btw). Behind every kitchen cabinet, and in every kitchen drawer, is something you'll need, and it's all already there! Even coasters!! How cool, and appreciated is that? Oh, don't forget the fresh hydrangeas that greeted us (perhaps just cut from the garden of his other property where we first saw them).
You are always reminded of the thought that went in to this home...and you can tell that a considerable amount of time was spent on the property before even the first shovel was turned. "Yes", the sunrises are just THAT amazing, and they happen exactly in the corner window of the MBR. But as a delightful surprise, SunSET happens EXACTLY in the center window of the guest bedroom...exactly.
One thing to be sure to note: the wonderfully casual and intriguing area of St. Elmo is right at the bottom on the mountain, just 2 miles away. No need to go to Chattanooga with restaurants like "1885" and the charming breakfast "home" of "Syrup and Eggs" (which we discovered on the Things to See and Do sheet in the home). Also, be sure to read the article on how the home came to be that's in the office.
A seemingly little thing, but so nice; you can Bluetooth your source of tunes right in to the speakers on the deck...what a great way to enhance sunning, and casual dining under the stars.
All-In-All, just wonderful and highly recommended. Of course, all manner of high-end soaps and such are provided too, and the softest towels and linens. THANK YOU!! Go, soon! :-)
Perfect Weekend Getaway !!
Place was fabulous - great views !! Very secluded - very clean when we arrived - the master suite is amazing - loved all the windows with the view. Wasn't sure about the open shower design at first but being a tall person there was no ducking down for me so it was great !!
Didn't know there was so much to do in Chattanooga - will definitely visit again.
Fantastic setting and a wonderful experience
We loved our stay with family of 5 over a long weekend. The views were as amazing as the pictures appear and the location is less than a mile from Rock City. There is a nearby waterfall that provides soothing background noise. The wonderful gas fireplace on the huge deck was a great amenity although took a bit of persistence to get lit. The two beds and futon slept our party easily. We would love to visit again. Highly recommended!
Just visited this rental the first of January 2018. Was surprised to see the Christmas tree still up. It made the home even more beautiful and cozy. The temperature while we were there never got above freezing but we were warm inside with all the soft blankets that were provided. The kitchen is fully stocked and there was complementary soap, shampoo and conditioner in each of the bathrooms. The master bed is SO comfortable and you wake up to the most beautiful view with the large windows in the master bedroom. I highly recommend this rental to anyone who wants to stay in a more modern mountain home. We explored to property and found a stream and could hear the waterfall but thought it was too dangerous for a couple of out of shape people to traverse the rocks to get to it. The Owner is very responsive to questions and is easy to contact. I would not recommend this Home to parents with small children. There is a pretty significant drop off from the back yard and a staircase leading to the basement that could pose a safety hazard for small children. I Will tell all of my friends that are heading to Chattanooga to check into renting this fabulous home.
Beautiful property and views!
We really enjoyed our visit to Lookout Mountain. The house is gorgeous - well stocked, comfortable, clean and welcoming. We enjoyed the piano and guitars in the house. And the view is spectacular. The house is very open and airy and beautifully designed. Exactly as pictured! Thank you, Sam! We loved it and hope to return soon.
This Home was truly welcoming! In addition to the spectacular view overlooking the city and sunrises, it was walking distance to Rock City. It was spotless and very well appointed. We felt very welcomed with the fresh flowers and were thankful for the stocked kitchen with condiments and such (especially the dishwashing gloves!). Thank you for sharing your home.
This property is located on the brow of Lookout Mountain less than one mile from World Famous Rock City. Rock City is opened year round and is incredibly popular for the Rock City Garden of Lights. Also close by is the famous Ruby Falls, a cave tour that features a 200+ foot underground waterfall.
