Great home away from home!

  • 5 of 5

Withering Heights was clean with plenty of space, and fully equipped with everything you could possibly need. We stayed for the last week of September 2017. The Town of Leadville was the best! Wonderful restaurants, great coffee shop with delicious pastries, and good local brewery....all these you can walk to! We did a good bit of hiking and there is every level you could want. Turquoise Lake is very close and so beautiful. We also drove to Aspen, Vail, Breckenridge, and Keystone. The local ski resort is Cooper, but it was a little early to enjoy it, but it looked great! There are very good ideas of places to go and things to do in their "Guest Book" so check it out. Thank you for sharing your home with us!

Ski Cooper from Oklahoma

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time in Leadville. The home was nice and easy to find. The two car garage was great. We didn't need to leave our car outside which made it much easier to load/unload for our day trips to Ski Cooper.

The house was well organized and had everything you could need to have a great time with no worries including WiFi, board games and TV. I can't think of anything that they didn't have for us to use. We stay at several VRBO homes and usually you can expect to bring some of the basics like paper towels, salt pepper, coffee filter, etc... but these were all there when we arrived. There is a Family Dollar store a few blocks away if you need something though. THe kitchen has a nice gas stove/oven, full size refrigerator, toaster oven, coffee maker, electric kettle, dishwasher and all the utensils. There is a full size washer/dryer but we didn't get a chance to use it.

The bedroom on the first floor seems big enough and has the one shower. There is a bathroom upstairs in the loft but it doesn't have a shower. We managed easy enough by cleaning up in the bathrooms in the morning and taking evening showers. We didn't rent the downstairs rooms so it may have another shower/bath.

Downtown is very nice and just like the pictures but we only had dinner out one night at the Tree Line Kitchen. The food was great and wonderful atmosphere.

We skied at Ski Cooper and had a great time. The people there were nicer than any ski resort I have ever been. They don't presume anything and are all happy to be there.

The owners seem nice. We didn't talk except via email but they were prompt with replies and made us feel that they would be there for us if we needed something.

We will definitely be back. It is too nice an area that isn't crowded or over done.
