Perfect location to experience Bologna like a local:)

Clean, fairly spacious rooms, good information about places to see and how to get around town by public transit (which was VERY convenient). Close to convention center (fiera) for those attending work conferences. Plenty of kitchenware, though we spent more time enjoying the great food. Good restaurants nearby!

Host handled a last minute issue very well

I cannot review this property as we did not stay here due to an issue that required maintenance in advance of our stay. However, the host reached out to us well in advance with another location that they owned. So we started there, and it was excellent. Seamless, would absolutely rent from them again

1 night btw London and rest of Italy.

Owners were very nice, responsive and helpful. Unit was not in a good area of town. Windows were welded shut due to security. Area of town felt creepy and we didn’t want to be out after dark. People in stores nearby were not friendly at all.

Dear Brian, thank you for your review. The apartment is located in a residential area, very close to the historic centre, exactly 1 km from Porta Zamboni, where the historic center begins. This neighborhood is safe, people live there and therefore there are many services, such as shops, markets, restaurants and pizzerias. The windows of the apartment have the gates because the apartment is on mezzanine floor, certainly not because the area and the building are not safe! Many families live in the building, all good people. We also lived in this apartment before we got married! Many of our guests appreciate the area because it’s very convenient, close to the historic center (but outside ZTL area) and very close to the Fair (exhibition centre). All the best R & M

Happy Home Indeed

Host was especially friendly and helpful; provided plenty of information about the apartment and the area; the place was neat and clean and welcoming; it exuded positivity from the moment we walked in the door; easy access w luggage, only 5 steps; very easy kitchen to work in; lots of room in bedrooms, good shower. No negatives at all, but one warning: be sure to save charge on your phone for the end of your day away so you can use your phone as the key for getting back into the apartment.

The self check in system works by the internet connection, but if guests haven’t internet on their phone, they can use our wi-fi, that works even outside, just in front of the building door. Many our guests love the self check in system because it gives them the freedom to check in when they want. The bathroom shower has black mold. The air conditioning is limited to bedrooms only. The living room is part of the kitchen. If you have more than 4 guests, you are warned not to use pull out beds. Sleeping was difficult as other households were moving out of their apartment above our rental and truck was in front of our windows. More electronic outlets needed for a family. Parking is difficult. Free parking very rarely available next to the building and street parking is difficult to find and must be paid for. Taxes were extra.

Dear Rudolph, Sorry to contradict you but THERE’S NO MOLD IN THE SHOWER. In some places the joint between the tiles has a slightly darker color, but it is clearly visible that it’s not mold. Cleanliness is very important to us, as you can read in all the reviews of our guests. The sofa beds can be opened and prepared only by us, because they have very delicate and complicate mechanisms. But before check in we always ask our guests how many beds they want and we asked you the same. The parking spots inside the courtyard are subject to availability upon arrival and it’s clearly described on the site. Many guests manage to park there, others do not, but it’s not depend on us. Anyway you didn’t pay for that, it’s something more we give to our guests. Otherwise you can park easily in the street for free from 6PM to 8AM (always free on Sunday) and from 8AM to 6PM paying only 1.50€/h or 7.50€/day. During your stay one of our neighbors moved house. The apartment is inside a condominium and this can happen. Rudolph, in our experience you were very difficult guests from the first contacts, even before the stay. You changed the dates of your stay 2 times in a few hours. Also the payment of the tourist tax was an undertaking, although everything is well specified on the site. We always try to do our best to offer to all our guests a quality stay and we have done the same with you. We accept any criticism or advice to improve our hospitality, but we reject what is not true and not-constructive. All the best R & M

Great base apartment to explore Bologna and region

The apartment met every expectation as described and as shown in the photos. The apartment was spacious for the three of us. It was very modern and clean inside. The kitchen was well equipped to make meals (when not eating at any of hundreds of wonderful restaurants in Bologna). The bedrooms were quiet, comfortable and air conditioned for a restful sleep. Though the apartment is a bit outside the city center , catching the number 20 bus a block away made it easy to go to many of the city central Piazzas. A book of ten tickets for the bus can be obtained at the local Tobacco shop (one block to the left). Had a very nice simple traditional meal and wine with very friendly staff at the the historical Lambrusco Crescentine e Tigelle a 5 minute walk away. And a fun time and delicious pizza at Pizzeria Il Sellaio a 10 minute walk. Best typical trattoria meal at the Trattoria Gianni in Bologna city center. Parking was limited but we had a spot inside the apartment parking lot for several days. But free street parking after 18:00 was available. Explored San Marino, Rimini, and Revenna by car. Mario was a great host to make us comfortable and welcome.

Inlog via internet, ook om de woning te openen. Parkeerplaats achter hek, en anders parkeergarage redelijk dichtbij. Verder gewoon netjes en schoon, prima voor deze prijs!

Il Signor Mario è davvero molto gentile e disponibile per qualsiasi necessità. L'appartamento è situato a 20 minuti a piedi dal centro, in una zona comunque ben fornita di negozi. Peccato ci sia un bagno solo, quindi essendo in 8 ragazzi si sono allungati molto i tempi di preparazione. Bologna è una città davvero bellissima, che merita di essere scoperta in ogni suo dettaglio!

Lovely stay at Happy Home Bologna

We spent 3 nights at Happy Home Bologna and we had a great experience. Mario and Roberta were very helpful with our needs and offered assistance even with our late arrival, Mario took the time to explain how to reach some points of interest, make recommendations and provide guidance. The apartment is fully equipped and located in a good quite area, easy to walk to the center, with restaurants and shops around. We were a group of 8 girls and we would definitely return to Happy Home in our next trip to Bologna. Thank you Roberta and Mario!

Abbiamo trascorso le recenti vacanze pasquali nell'alloggio di Mario e Roberta. Scelta felicissima. L'appartamento è molto ampio e funzionale. Eravamo in cinque e siamo stati benissimo. Pulito e dotato di tutti i servizi necessari. La posizione è strategica. Il centro dista poche fermate di autobus ma è facilmente raggiungibile anche a piedi con una passeggiata di 10-15 minuti. Disponibilità di parcheggi gratuiti per la macchina nelle vicinanze. Gentili e disponibili i proprietari. Sicuramente da consigliare.

Great apartment with friendly and helpful hosts

I stayed with 6 other friends, all in our mid twenties. We had troubles with our flights and had to rearrange the arrival time but Mario was so flexible and lovely and met us and showed us around when we eventually got there. The fridge was stocked with some useful everyday groceries which was so appreciated after getting there so late. The apartment was clean and tidy. Thanks very much for having us!

L'appartement est fonctionnel, très propre, bien équipé. Le propriétaire est très attentionné; nous avons été accueillis avec une bouteille de mousseux au frais! Il nous a également conseillé plusieurs restaurants et a réservé un taxi pour nous. Il nous a même confirmé l'arrivé du taxi 5mn avant son arrivé alors que celui était commandé à 5h15 du matin!!! Un petit bémol sur la localisation à 20mn du centre. Cela dit nous avons passé un très bon séjour.

A lovely apartment in Bologna

We found our apartment to quite lovely and pleasant with everything needed for a great stay in Bologna. However, the neighborhood where this wonderful apartment is located is not quite so lovely. It is not an area where you feel comfortable taking long slow walks to meet the locals. While we had no problems, the feeling persisted throughout our stay. The only other slight problem is and was parking your vehicle. The apartment complex contains about thirty-eight units and has parking for about 25% of these vehicles. These spaces are claimed by permanent residents who don't move their cars; therefore you must find a parking spot along the streets within the area and most available parking spaces require payment.

Really nice apartment, good location!!

Highly recommended!! The apartment is very comfy, clean and spacious with quiet location. The owners are very helpful and kind. All in all very - a very good apartment and there were all equipments that you need. Close by is a restaurant called La Perla - worth visiting!! Nice food with good prices.
