Charming rural property surrounded by olive trees with sea view

Bedrooms 2
Space 753 sq. ft.
Property type cottage
Minimum Stay 3 nights

About the property

2 bedrooms (sleeps 6), 2 bathrooms, 2 kitchens (1 outdoor), big terrace & garden

A charming and typical rural property ('rustico') surrounded by a very quiet garden (800 m² of olive trees) with sea view. The property is located in a protected area ('Monte Marcello Natural Park'). The house (70 m²) is divided into 2 floors: at the ground floor 1 bedroom (Queen size) and 1 double bedroom (4 beds or 2 single beds + 1 Queen), 2 full bathrooms,1 laundry machine; at the first floor, living/ dining room, 1 kitchen. The 2 floors are connected by inside stairs (very steep, like the stairs of a sail boat) and external stairs (with sweeter steps). Outside (ground level) there is 1 big patio and (first floor) 1 kitchen (with 3 small fires),1 terrace (overlooking the garden and the sea) and 1 shower.

Access to the property: The property can be reached by car. The road, in its final 40 meters, is very narrow (approx 2 meters wide). You do not need to be a good driver and/or drive a very small car (but it may help). The property's owner drives a big car (Pegeout C8) through the narrow road up to the property. You just need to pay attention (also in the manouvers to turn the car on the way back).

Specific pictures of the access road can be provided upon request.

Structure of the house: The two levels of the house are connected, indoor, by a very steep stairs (like the stairs of a sail boat) and, outdoor, by a stair with sweeter steps. The indoor stair does not represent a comfortable passage and it may be dangerous.

The owners of the property have four daughters (19, 16, 8 and 6 years old) and they use the indoor stairs just paying attention.

Specific pictures of the stairs can be provided upon request.

Telephone communications: the house has a cellular phone coverage (the quality depends on your operator).

Lovely retreat

  • 5 of 5

We had a great stay in this charmig cottage which looks like a country retreat just few minutes away from the sea. We like to walk and we found it as the perfect point of departure for daily excursions either to the beach, or to Tellaro, or to the close Monte Marcello. A short walk (be sure to have comfortable shoes, steep path) brings to la Serra village where there is a nice restaurant with view on the sea, few grocery stores and Raffaella B&B "la Tata". Raffaella arranged for us a day out by boat with a traditional "gozzo" and we enjoyed it very much. But the closest beach is only 10 minutes walking and it is very pleasant as well. Public bus connects regularly with Lerici. The house is cozy, it gives a kind of "boat feeling", the kitchen is well equipped, terrace is wide and offers a beautiful view on the sea and plenty of privacy. There is also an external kitchen for more sophisticated preparation (nice hoven!). The good place for unwinding and rest, enjoying the beauty and the tranquility of this unique corner of Liguria. Thank you Raffaella for such lovely stay!

A Lovely Place to Hide Away

  • 5 of 5

This is a beautiful place to spend a restful holiday. It has real character and is comfortable and comes complete with everything you need (although it could do with a kettle - for those of us who like a cup of tea!). The stairs inside are too steep for toddlers, although you can easily use the outside steps. The views from the veranda are breathtaking and it is wonderful to have breakfast and dinner while watching the ships on the bay below. On our holiday, we mainly drove down the hill from the villa and parked at the bottom, then walked along to Tellaro to swim and snorkel. The hill is very steep, so our two girls (7 and 10) found it too hard to walk (so did we!). Tellaro was our favourite village (great gelato), although we also loved going up to La Sera, which has some super small food shops (delicious figs). We also took the ferry along to Lerici, which was a lovely way to travel. If you like sea food, try the restaurant through the tunnel under Lerici castle. All in all, a very special place - made even better, by the warm welcome we got from Caterina.

A quiet place in a beautiful area

  • 4 of 5

We have been warmly welcomed by Raffaela, and as this was the first location of the season, the house was a little dusty.

Nevertheless, we enjoyed it a lot, as it is located in a very quiet street with a nice sea view, and surrounded by gardens.

There are still some improvements to do, but Raffaella is planning them ! Heating, showers and paintings are brand new.

There is a wide terrace that should be perfect for summer evenings between friends.

It is really easy from this place to visit the closest villages, such as Tellaro, La serra and Fiascherino that all are lovely. There are even two nice beaches down the road ! Lerici is also a very nice place to visit, to have an ice cream, a pizza...

At last, you are only at 30 min by car from La Spezia if you want to take the train to the Cinque Terre.

It was quite a good experience for us with our 2 years old boy.

  • 3 of 5

  • 2 of 5

Car: recommended

The property is located on a top of a hill, just 10-15 minutes walk from Fiascherino beach, a tiny bay between Lerici and Tellaro (nearby La Spezia).Within walking distance, you can access either rocky or sandy beaches, in one of the best Italian Rivera’s landscape. The typical villages of Lerici, of Tellaro and of La Serra can also be reached by walk. The property has been recently (June 2008) restructured. The property can be reached by car through a tiny road (approx. 2 m. wide). On the way down,it is an easy walk;on the way back, the climb is steep, sometimes very steep.
