With fully equipped kitchen and ideally located within 5 minutes walking distance from Plaza Cataluña, Las Ramblas and Paseo de Gracia, with Gaudí’s Casa Batlló just one metro stop away, this is the best accommodation option for a city break or a longer stay. The closest metro station, Universitat, is just 2 minutes walking from the apartments, as well as the Aerobus station, so you can easily reach the apartment from the airport. There are many supermarkets just around the corner, as well as one of the most famous bakeries in Barcelona – Mistral. Mercat de Sant Antoni and La Boqueria are the ideal choices if you want to buy fresh products in your area – just 7 minutes walking.

Located in the most vivid and alternative neighbourhood in Barcelona, next to the Museum of Contemporary Art (MACBA) and the Centre for Contemporary Culture (CCCB), these apartments are equipped with free Wi-Fi, flat screen TV, washing machine, appliances, toaster, oven, kettle, etc. And to pamper yourself, there’s a hydro massage shower in the bathroom. Convenient; Centrally Located; Near Great Venues on Las Ramblas

Located in a nondescript building, this efficiency unit is a good homebase from which to explore Las Ramblas. Near Plaça de Catalunya and very convenient to the Airport Bus that can take you to and from the Airport (only approx. 6 Euros, one way). Flax and Kale is a wonderful restaurant a mere 1 block away, good for all three meals and especially with free trade coffee and amazing pastries. The apt. is well situated and clean. Towels limited to a bath towel and hand towel. Bring your own toiletries. Our Unit (#3) is NOT SHOWN in this picture, but the amenities and furnishings look very similar. One large Queen Bed, but with a fold out couch that can accommodate 2 more people. Full efficiency kitchen with cookware, dishware, utensils; some cleaning supplies. Our unit's window faced a central apt. shaft (i.e. no view), which was a disappointment; but the up side is that night noise whether from people or traffic is virtually non-existent -- very quiet at night except for some apt. neighbors or other VRBO guests. Central location to the Plaza makes catching taxi, metro, or bus very easy and economical. Short metro stop to get to Sagrada Familia. Recommended for couples on a budget, those who do not want to spend a lot on lodgings. Bring slippers or house soxes as the floors are poured concrete with few rugs. Very limited fixings for breakfast, so you will have to make a quick run to the local market (within 2 blocks) or walk up/down Las Ramblas to get supplies.

Not the apartmetnt we expected

First, understand that this apartment is managed by a property management company, not an independent owner. We were sent a document after we booked that said ‘The reception desk is normally open from 10am to 6pm’. There is no reception desk. Fortunately they also provided a phone number, so we could make a call to the management company, who sent someone over to let us into the apartment. That took about 15 minutes. When she arrived, we were told that our apartment was not ready because the prior night’s guests had not checked out, and had kept the key. We were told the apartment had been cleaned, but there was still luggage in the room. So the cleaning staff did have a key, but that person was already across town. Long story short, somehow a key magically appeared, the other people’s luggage disappeared, and we got in. All in 10 minute period. Odd. When we got to the apartment, it was clearly not the one in the ad. It was similarly furnished, but definitely smaller, and a weird triangle shape, and hardly any windows. We didn’t complain, as we felt lucky to have any apartment at that point. I kind of think this was not supposed to be our apartment at all.

The apartment was generally fine, although there was no top sheet on the bed, only a bottom sheet and comforter. The bathroom was similar to the one in ad, but smaller.

The whole time we were there, the entryway to the building smelled like something had died there. Not kidding – it smelled like a dead mouse or rat or something. Not so bad in the morning when it was cold, but much worse when it warmed up. The smell did not make it up to our floor.

The location is fantastic – close to the metro, and the Ramblas.

When we got home, we sent a message to the management company (thru the VRBO email system) asking why we were given a different apartment than we booked. There was no reply.

Two weeks later, we reached out to VRBO for help. VRBO replied that they would contact the management company as well. Not a peep since then.

Great unit for a great price in a prime location. Highly recommended!

The location was the reason why we chose it, and the MAIN reason why we would recommend it to anyone who wishes to “settle-in” and explore the city as a local resident. It’s less than 5 minutes to walk to the Universitat metro stop, several bus lines, as well as the Aerobus to the airport. It’s also a very short walk to the pick-up/drop-off location for many of the day-tour bus companies (for example, wine and cava tours, etc.) There are a variety of restaurants, bars, bakeries, coffee shops and markets - all within 10 minutes. Future guests need to understand that being near the University, the surrounding streets tend to be noisy, dirty, and crowded particularly at night when the students are out drinking. We always felt safe, but it is not for everyone.

The unit itself is well maintained, clean, and a perfect size for 2 adults. We even received refreshed towels mid-way through our stay. What a pleasant surprise! Also, the booking agent (AinB) was very responsive to all of my inquiries prior to arrival.

There are only two areas of improvement:

First, the check-in process was unclear to me. Prior to leaving the USA, I emailed them our planned check-in time because I had received written instructions to provide that to them and to call upon arrival. Erroneously, I assumed that emailing them our check-in time was enough, and there would be someone to greet us at the unit at the designated time. Unlike a hotel-apartment unit, there is no reception desk or a greeter, nor did I have the international calling feature setup on my cell phone. Also the nearby payphones do not except coins, so we were unable to use them. This led to some panic, understandably. Fortunately, we were able to use the phone from a kind neighbor to call AinB, and someone was there within 5 minutes to let us into the unit. Lesson learned: either have your cell phone ready – or use a coin-operated payphone at the airport.

Second, the unit has a small washing machine (added bonus of staying there, you can pack light). There were no written instructions on how to operate it, and the buttons on the machine were indecipherable. We managed to figure it out eventually and did several loads during our stay. My suggestion would be to provide written instructions for future guests; it’s a welcome touch! Of course, this type of thing is also part of the adventure of travelling.

All said, it’s a great unit for a great price in a great location. Highly recommended!

I thought my stay was simply fabulous! Definitely gets 5 stars from me!

I stayed at this apartment for 13 nights and it was exactly as described in the information and the pictures that I saw.

I initially chose this apartment because of it's location. The Apartment is about a 5-10 minute walk, if that, from the city centre (Playa Catalunya) of Barcelona where it's easy to book your trips at the Tourist Information Centre and then also very easy to travel anywhere from Playa Catalunya to other places within Barcelona. Not only that, its around the corner from the very popular boulevard, Las Ramblas which has lots of restaurants, bars and shops.

I was greeted by the AinB staff (Amit) who was waiting for me outside the building, Amit was very very helpful. He gave me a brief introduction about the apartment, told me it would be cleaned every 3 days (and it was!) and that if I had any problems, I was to call him and he would do his best to get it sorted out. True to his word, my apartment regularly had a change of towels every three days. He even went as far as supplying me with extra kitchen towels when I didn't ask for them!! Top Man!!

I was very happy that I had chosen this apartment when I discovered that it had an intercom number to get in and a lift!! I know it all sounds like little things but bearing in mind I started my holiday on my own, these little things made me feel very safe to and from the property. Many of the trips I booked, the meeting and drop off point would be at Playa Catalunya, so I felt that this was also an additional benefit for me!

I would definitely recommend this apartment to friends and family should the need arise in the future and if or should I say, when I come back, I'll always check to see if this apartment is available first over any other!

Perfect studio in a great location. Could have been 5 stars but no customer service.

This studio apartment is located in the old city, around the corner from the Universidad metro stop and within walking distance to Placa Cataluna. This made the apartment a perfect spot for going anywhere in the city. I cannot say it enough, it is in a great location with an incredibly delicious bakery next door and the Rambla a few blocks away. This place is part of the Apartments to Stay, Barcelona Center. So bear in mind although you are booking through VRBO, this is a business owned property.

The negatives: Absolutely no customer service. We met someone at eh beginning of our 2 weeks. He gave us our key, answered a few questions we had and that was it. In all the VRBO we have rented, we had basic condiments in the kitchen and bathroom amenities. All we found in the bathroom was toilet paper and 2 threadbare towels. I had to call the following Tuesday for new towels and for the unit to be cleaned. The kitchen had poor quality utensils and the safe was locked and never opened. The building has an elevator and the unit has a good air condition

No matter where you stay, Barcelona is a fun, beautiful city with so much to do and to see. We loved it. The question is would we stay here again. Probably not . We would look for an apartment in a hotel or a privately owned apt. And yet, the place is clean,and in a perfect location. Too bad, the owners don't go the extra step.
