Wonderful villa and great location

Everything was perfect and great, however due to the lack of proper contracted maintenance, the pool was unworkable to take a bath most of the days ( green water and high turbidity)

Luxurious and beautiful villa

Breathtaking and well maintained villa. Generous space with a very high standard. Plenty of bedrooms and a relaxing garden with a refreshing swimming pool. A patio perfect for breakfast under pine trees. Close to wonderful beaches and pitoresqe fishing villages for lovely fresh seafood dinners. We loved every minute of our stay.

Great villa in a great location

The villa had all the facilities we required. Lovely pool, comfy beds and plenty of space for everyone. Everything was very clean and well maintained. The villa is well situated and you can walk to beaches and restuarants but a car is ideally needed for shopping and to explore the area. The only thing to mention is the villa would benefit from a few more sunbeds or softer seating in the pool area as the current ones are short in number and getting a little tired. But it was a wonderful holiday and fully recommended. Thank you for letting us stay.

More attention to the detail

We where a party of 2 mature couples, skipping hotels for COVID reasons. The house is as advertised. Maybe it has some excess of furniture, special in one bedroom, where an extra bed limits normal use, and in the living room, where also it lacks indirect lighting. But nothing really annoying. The kitchen is also equipped for the number of guests it advertises. But when you rent and house like this for the price we have payed, you don’t expect to have to run to a supermarket to buy detergents, trash bags and stuff like that. At least, it was the first time It happened to me. The swimming pool was not properly clean on arrival and it was no recent leaves. It damages your first impression right away. And, very unusual nowadays, no satellite TV. So, unless you want to stick to the full range of Spanish TV all-doubled Channels, be prepared to use what looks like a 1990’s CD + VHS combo, and see some movies. Moving to the 21st century on the entertainment side is urgently needed. House internet worked well all the time. The owner representative was very helpful and diligent. In summary: For what you pay, you should have more. The underscores will not damage your vacation, but some basic investment and maintenance is needed to bring this nice house up to a standard matching the price.

Thank you for your response and we are surprised you did not mention this to our agent who is kindly arranging everything in Spain as we cannot travel due to COVID-19. Each year we spend a lot of time decorating and making sure the house is up to standard and this year we had to do what we could remotely. The pool was cleaned, as always, just before you came and if there were a few leaves in there it is only to be expected. The pool is cleaned and maintained several times a week by a very experienced consultant. We take great pride in making sure everything is ready for our Guests. We treat the Villa as our family home, which it has been in the past, and it is important that guests enjoy it as we do. Kind regards Sarah

La casa está muy bien , muy espaciosa, la bbq, y la piscina genial, aunque la ducha no funcionaba pero teníamos manguera . Por poner un pero se echa en falta más espacio de almacenamiento en la cocina , hay demasiados enseres de los propietarios .Pero en general la casa está muy bien sobre todo la zona de jardín que es donde más tiempo hemos pasado.

Nuestra estancia de 12 días en la casa en Nuevo Portil ha sido en general mejorable. Aunque agradecemos mucho las facilidades que nos ofrecieron para el bebé (como la cuna, los juguetes y otros detalles que hicieron más cómoda su estancia), hemos encontrado varios aspectos importantes que no estuvieron a la altura del precio pagado.La ubicación está algo alejada de la playa, lo cual conviene tener en cuenta. Durante los primeros tres días no pudimos disfrutar de la piscina, ya que el agua estaba turbia y no era apta para el baño. Afortunadamente, esto se solucionó finalmente y después pudimos utilizarla. Sin embargo, hay que señalar que la ducha de la piscina no funcionaba, las hamacas estaban en mal estado y la escalera de acceso también necesitaba mantenimiento.En cuanto a la casa en sí, al llegar no estaba limpia, la barbacoa se encontraba sucia, y las sillas del porche tenían maderas sueltas y tornillos faltantes, lo que daba sensación de descuido. Además, encontramos bastantes bichos de humedad en las habitaciones, y en una ocasión incluso una cucaracha.Otro aspecto negativo ha sido el descanso: tanto las camas como las almohadas eran bastante deficientes, y los somieres hacían ruido con cualquier movimiento, lo que dificultó un buen sueño.En resumen, creemos que la relación calidad-precio no cumple con unos mínimos aceptables. Con algunos arreglos y una mayor atención al mantenimiento y la limpieza, la experiencia podría mejorar considerablemente

Casa con potencial pero muy dejada

La casa tiene mucho potencial, pero estaba muy sucia; una suciedad acumulada de hace mucho tiempo (cubertería y cubertero, horno, cajones de la cocina, sartenes inutilizables, barbacoa muy sucia…). Los somieres de las camas, rotos en varios cuartos. El interior de los armarios con enseres de la propiedad (edredones, mantas, etc) pero todo tirado y muy dejado. Los alrededores de la piscina estaban llenos de colillas y la red de limpieza rota, con lo cual en los 5 días no pudimos limpiar la piscina .

We are surprised and dissappointed to receive this review and it does not reflect all the conversations with the guest during their stay. We have had five star reviews from previous guests for the cleaning and the cleaning team we employ work hard to prepare the Villa for each guest. Cleaners can be hired if required during the stay, on request from the guest. It is standard practice to leave spare quilts and pillows in the warddrobes for guests. We are puzzled by many of the comments as the beds are definitely not broken. Furthermore, several cupboards contain supplies for the rentals and should be inaccessable to guests. We told the guest the pool net had been ordered and apologised for it not arriving on time but the pool had been cleaned. We are very particular about rentals and ensuring that guests enjoy their holiday at the Villa. We bought new appliances for the kitchen in July, the showers are new. It is a beautiful area and has been our family home for over twenty years.

Great relaxing holiday

Lovely villa in a lovely quite setting for a relaxing holiday, would recommend any visitor's have use of a car as could feel a little isolated without any transport. We do not tend to return to places generally but no reasons not to return here if relaxing break required. Thanks to all involved with the villa rental.

Great stay at El Portil

We had a great stay at Sarah´s house. The apartment is very well organized, and has a great potential with plenty of rooms to host a big family! We enjoyed having our own pool, what was a great feature of the apartment. The area is beautiful and with a very well preserved surroundings. There are enough services, supermarkets, bars and restaurants, but still it feels as a natural reserve. We enjoyed doing day trips to Sevilla and the Doñana Natural Park. Sarah was a very good host and her team on site (Carol) was incredibly responsive to support us with our requests. Overall an amazing family vacation! We´ll be back! Jose

Beautiful property in an amazing location.

We were very impressed with the property. The weather was great and we ate in the courtyard most evenings. The Villa had everything we needed and we found it very clean, comfortable and extremely well maintained. The pool looked new and very clean and we used it many times despite the time of the year. We made several trips to see the Semana Santa processions in Huelva which were fascinating. We followed many of the host’s recommendations which were great! A fantastic holiday! We will be booking for the autumn half term too.

A fantastic villa in a great location

The villa was ideally located to enjoy the beach or walks along the pine forest but having our own spacious swimming pool was the highlight! We had a family comprising of three generations including a toddler staying here and we loved it. The separate court yard is ideal for dining as it is fenced off from the pool which was great for my nearly two year old. The bedrooms were clean, spacious and the bathrooms were great (really powerful showers and instant hot water). I particularly liked that there was a separate door in the hall way, so that if my toddler woke up before us he couldn't go exploring around the house. There was a fantastic bbq which was perfect for alfresco dining and an unobtrusive peaceful view of the golf course opposite. Oh and it was great having someone to meet us to show us where the place was, especially after a long day of travelling and having his number meant if we were to have any problems we could contact someone straight away. So we loved staying here, we would really recommend this place and we will definitely be back, what a great find!

Relax relax relax!

My family and I had a great time staying here. We have all fallen in love with the property. There were 6 adults and 3 children and because of the spacious rooms and three floor system my dad didn't hear my two year old crying at night! And with four bathrooms, there were no queues or fights! Very child friendly, bbq area was great, garden chairs very relaxing and the pool was so beautiful, relaxing and helped the children to sleep well. We saw lots of birds fly over and it was perfect distance for getting to supermarkets and eating typical Spanish food on the beach. We didn't want to go home. Definitely repeating!

The Villa is our family home so it is very important to us that it is well looked after and maintained and that our Guests get to experience the joys and character of Andalucia and the Costa de la Luz whilst enjoying a relaxing holiday. This area is very special, with plenty of natural wildlife and fauna, you may even spot blue magpies and other native birds in the garden.
The beaches are stunning and only a short stroll away.
