Rivers Edge ""CATCH WILD TROUT"""""

Bedrooms 3
Space 1,400 sq. ft.
Property type cabin
Minimum Stay 3 - 7 nights

About the property

Cabin, 3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 6)

Welcome to a very private updated mountain cabin on the rivers edge (located on private .8 acre). Hear the roar of the river and watch water splash on the boulders. Enjoy fishing for wild trout on 182 feet of private Big Thompson River running through the property. This is an older cabin with a lot of character with a portion built in the 1930's. We are continually upgrading the cabin. Every one who has stayed at the cabin loves its charm.

Relax under large shaded Pine Trees on a manicured lawn while viewing the stream and tree covered mountains. Elk and other wildlife will frequently be roaming in the yard in the evening or early morning. Bring the camera and camcorder to take pictures of the Elk.

Easy access to Trail Ridge Road in Rocky Mountain National Park.

Shopping and restaurants are available as downtown Estes Park is less than 1/2 mile. Several shops and restaurants are within walking distance. The South entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park is within one mile.

The cabin was well-appointed with all the comforts of home. Location of the cabin is close to all Estes Park attractions as well as RMNP. The river next to the cabin is the best part, bring your rod, the trout are biting.

Best time in Estes Park yet!

  • 5 of 5

We have been coming to Estes Park for over 30 years, and this was the best time ever! This home offered us more than any other place we've stayed. The view from the family room is like sitting on the river, and approx. 20 cow elk and a bull elk visited within 20ft. We're coming back first chance we get.

Clean. Well maintained. Very responsive owner.

Very nice. We had a front row seat to elk activities many of the evenings. Large bull elk walked across yard a few feet from front windows. Loved the riverfront. RMNP was great.

Serenity by the River

  • 4 of 5

My husband and our young toddler stayed here for 3 nights. It was perfectly located on the river and a view of Prospect Mountain (you can drive 2 minutes to go up the Aerial Tramway). Although the cabin has an odd layout, it worked well for our family and my young son enjoyed all the yard space to run and explore. The owner was in wonderful communication and flexible with us when we had to revise our trip dates last minute. I would recommend this stay for multiple families or a small family like ours.

Wonderful Rocky Mountain Experience

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay at this home. The day we arrived, we were greeted by seven Cow Elk grazing in the front yard. Once settled in, the boys went down the the river and started fishung and caught fish right off the bat.

The second day of our stay, i was awaken by the mewing sound of the Cow Elk and when I got up to look, there were over 27 head of elk all around the house including a monster 6×6 Bull Elk and a forked horn and a spike. And, since the rut is just starting, the Bull was buggling and tearing up the branches of the pine tree. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay to experience the Colorado Rockies and it's wildlife and still be right near town. Thank you Wendall for sharing your home, we will definately rent from you again.
