This hale (hale means home) with a breathtaking view has 270 feet of prime ocean frontage directly on the magnificent and historic Kealakekua Bay. This is the property CLOSEST to the Captain Cook monument. Guests can enjoy the #1 rated snorkeling in ALL HAWAII in Kealakekua Bay. There is naturally swimming & kayaking in this exquisite and natural marine conservation area. The bay is often frequented by spinner dolphins and whales during the late winter whale migration season. The open and airy hale (home) may make you feel like you are at sea and truly part of the bay. The ocean side hot tub sits right at the ocean’s edge. At low tide, there is swimming the cove right in front of the home and may even spot the resident sea turtles.

Kealakekua Bay is a protected marine preserve and is considered by local residents to be THE BEST snorkeling experience in Hawaii. Discover for yourself by taking one of the 2 seat kayaks or single seat kayaks across the bay to Captain Cook’s Monument. The kayak launch is at the property RIGHT NEXT DOOR and the kayaks can be reserved for NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE.

This is truly an adventure vacation location. This property is perfect for retreats, small weddings and small group gatherings. It has 4 bedrooms and 3 baths which sleeps 10 guests comfortably and more if needed with flexible bedding.

Also a incredibly unique location for a wedding and reception! Oceanfront yard for the outdoor event(s) and the bride and groom and Ohana can enjoy the view of the ocean and just imagine wedding pictures with dolphins in the background! No backbreaking event fee! Just double the housekeeping fee for the housekeeper in the spirit of Aloha. For weddings 7 night stays are appropriate.
Any guests on property at any time in addition to overnight guests should be communicated and must be approved prior to booking.

When a guest makes a reservation for a wedding there is an additional event fee of $585.00 that is required that is not included in the quote…that is for the housekeepers. This location is amazing! The house is amazing! And the host and on-site help from Rainbow were amazing! We got so much help, right away, from the host when we had questions before and during our stay and amazing local tips from Rainbow. We had 3 families here for the week of Thanksgiving that included kids 11-16 and 9 people total. The space was perfect for us all with the kids all together in the "loft area" and adults each had 3 separate, private sleeping areas. We took complete advantage of the included kayaks, paddle boards, and snorkel equipment to explore the Bay everyday, which was also our backyard-you can't get better than that! Incredible views from the shore so we were out on the lanai most of the time. Incredible sea life right outside our door. We got a Costco delivery to stock the house but also easy drive to Kona area for eating out. Easy drive to Volcano National Park. You just can't go wrong with this rental!

Great location

Kayaking with dolphins in back yard essentially, was memorable. Property manager and staff easy to work with. Room and beds for 11 of us, and a great deck view of ocean. Lack of A/C and over abundance of bugs were unexpected and challenging, however a great place overall.

Dream location for a relaxing family reunion

The property is open, and quiet except for the sound of the ocean in each and every inch of the property. The vistas of the bay, the spinner dolphins coming in each morning to playfully leap into the air was amazing. The house lends itself to the openness, and the evenings of meals on the lanai are perfect. I have visited the Big Island several times and this property made this trip special.

The house was absolutely amazing! The view that it offers is truly amazing. My wife and I got married at this property and it could not have turned out any better. Absolutely stunning. Beautiful location on the bay. Road down is curvy but the destination is worth it. You could hear talking from public park during early morning hours but again not where it was disruptive, just different. Need to be comfortable with some wildlife ie geckos and insects and definitely store any food on counter in bin provided. Can’t say enough how beautiful the property is and house layout is unique but again beautiful. Layout fit our family group well. If ever back on big island would stay again. Saw whale and spinner dolphins from property and even though high surf limited water time off property the waves were amazing!

Magical Wedding in Hawaii

My husband and I booked this house for our wedding and for us and our family and friends to stay for the week in Mid-may. The week was incredible from waking up and swimming with wild dolphins to sitting in the hot tub right next to the ocean. This place is magical and an incredible place to have family and friends gather. Our wedding was perfect and we couldn't have asked for anything better. The house is fantastic and a great place for making meals for a couple families vacationing together. I would recommend this house to anyone looking to have a spectacular big island experience. My husband and I plan to return for a wedding anniversary someday or to renew our vows down the road.

Beautiful Property

This is a beautiful property with the ocean just steps away from the house. I think the house needs renovations and appliances and beds need replacing. Beds were very uncomfortable. Also, I don’t think this unit should advertise 3 full bathrooms because there were 2 full bathrooms indoors and an outdoor shower that is normally used to rinse off salt water and a toilet and sick located outside but enclosed. Property manager was awesome and cleaning crew did a good job keeping the place clean. One drawback was the bugs. These bugs were drawn to light so I suggest that you eat while it’s still light out. Overall, we had a lot of fun and have no regrets. Lots of great memories.

Our annual Holiday Family Gathering

Beautiful property and location with access to a protected Marine Nature Reserve and State Park. We were so excited to see whales, spinner dolphins, and eels from the house! Property manager super nice and helpful. It was unfortunate that the hot tub was not working as that had been an important part for us! We were given permission to use adjacent property’s hot tub but felt uncomfortable sharing with other guests. The access to kayaks and snorkel gear was also on shared property. It was really nice kayak(s) and snorkel gear and very good access to beautiful ocean adventures! House is gorgeous with plenty of room for our large party. One downside is location by the State Park was quite noisy at night especially for family in the front room. Despite stormy weather and Hawaiian State of Emergency during our stay, we had a most enjoyable week in a most lovely home. The house is very clean with well equipped kitchen, lovely lounging and eating areas. Also important to note, owner was very kind and flexible in accommodating dates as we had to postpone our 2020 plans and reschedule 2021. Overall a Very very beautiful place for our family holiday gathering!

Perfect family vacation spot

This house was the perfect size and location for our family vacation. With nine people we had the space to spread out and enjoy our time fully. There was a lovely deck facing the beautiful ocean that we used for meals and downtime. The location was ideal for kayaking and snorkeling near the Captain Cook monument. Such a relaxing time.

Beauty all around, best hot tub

This rustic yet well appointed house is breathtaking with views of Kealakekua Bay and the cliffside. The Lanai and backyard are spectacular, highlighted by the awesome hot tub. The surf was high during our stay, so we couldn't access the water from the house or nearby beach unfortunately, but found places to swim and snorkel nearby at Two step and Ke'i beach. This is a fantastic house for big groups as there are 3 bedrooms AND a large suite room with 4 beds. At night, there was quite a bit of activity in the parking lot, across the street from the house which caused some minor noise disturbance. Overall, if you are looking for a secluded escape away from the main bustle of Ali'i Drive and steps from nature, this is an incredible house!

Very unique place, open floor plan allows ocean breeze in. Beautiful views and the waters are amazing. Go to the two step beach down the road! We had our wedding there and 12 people stayed thrrr comfortably. I love this place is not in a touristy area, it's in a more secluded area but still close enough to everything! Great for families and kids!

Amazing experience!

We had such an incredible stay! The property is in an amazing location and very well appointed. We had a beautiful time relaxing in the hot tub, swimming out to the dolphins, and snorkeling and kayaking around the bay. The house is very inviting with everything we needed to enjoy ourselves tremendously!

My family of 12 stayed in this fabulous home on Kealakekua Bay/Captain Cook for a week. I was looking for an ocean front property that offered accommodations for 5 teenagers and 7 adults. We had come back to Hawaii, our previous home, to spread my wife's ashes in the beautiful blue waters she so dearly loved. This property is extremely well maintained with the property manager next door who provided help on an as needed basis. With the floor to ceiling sliding glass doors open all day and night we loved the trade winds blowing through the home keeping the temperature perfect. Having use of 5 kayaks and some snorkeling equipment was great allowing us to paddle or swim out every morning to be in with the spinner dolphins as well as the wonderful viewing of the magical beauty of the sea life in the bay. Feeding moray eels at night on the rocks edge below the home was exciting and dining each night on the decks was fabulous especially while watching the sun sets and looking for that elusive "green flash". I highly recommend this home for large families as it affords the ambiance of what Hawaii is, a tropical paradise with great amenities, location, and peace and quiet.
