Why Jack S Bender chose Port Wing
We had always traveled the North Shore once a year for vacation once a year. Ten years ago I had a overnight business appointment in Bayfield, WI. With down time I drove the shore from Bayfield to Duluth and fell in love with the area. The water is so much warmer, the sunsets are incredible and it is so quiet and serene. We purchased the lot and built a log home in 2005.
What makes this Cabin unique
We purchased the lot because we felt it had the very best view of the lake from the south shore. We have 400 feet of shore line to view the lake. The home was built 75 feet from the bluff line. The triangle windows, and the two loft gables were designed to take advantage of the view of the lake.

Perfect weekend getaway!
We had a great family visit over Thanksgiving weekend. It was just what we were looking for - cozy cabin with all the modern features we needed. Thanks for a great visit.
We had a great time and only wish it would’ve been longer.
We all had a wonderful relaxing time. The cabin was beautiful and well supplied. The directions from the owner were very clear and it was a joy to stay there. It ended up to be me and my two daughters and their three adult daughters. The One full day we were there the sun peaked through and gave us a beautiful day to walk down by the harbor , in the woods and along the shore. We also enjoyed the little town of Port wing. Saturday We went there for a before dinner drink and ended up at the Bare Paw restaurant on Sunday for breakfast after we had checked out and we’re headed home. We all hope to return some day for a summer visit.
Perfect spot for a weekend getaway!
Very nice log cabin with everything you need. Nicely decorated and amazing views out the front windows looking out to Lake Superior. We loved it and had no complaints! We did a day trip to Madeline Island and enjoyed an evening at the cabin having dinner and watching movies. Would definitely go back to this place!
the property, the decor, the view, the communication all 5 star
Everything is amazing from the moment you walk in the door - the house is amazing and the attention to detail is wonderful. The house speaks to you and it says"relax"...
We sure did.
We are telling everyone in Duluth and Superior about this property.
we will be repeat customer

Great location on a small bluff overlooking Lake Superior. Peaceful and quiet; no neighbors. A few eagle sightings added to the ambience. Fire ring with more than an adequate supply of firewood was a great way to enjoy the evenings. The home is large, comfortable and full of interesting decor. Home was clean and beds were very comfortable. Three miles to Port Wing for housekeeping necessities. About eighteen miles to Iron River for a full service grocery and a meat market. Smoked brown sugar salmon from Johnson's convenience store in Port Wing was awesome. Friday night fish fry at the Port Bar and Restaurant should not be missed - we preferred the trout over the whitefish. The only downside (and can not be prevented) is that the water smells of iron. We suggest you bring your own drinking. Seamless process for renting, access, and instructions was very much appreciated. Thanks for making your home available to us!
Beyond amazing! Everything about the cabin and property was beauty and impeccably clean.
So very happy we found this place! I hope we are able to come back some day soon! Absolutely perfect!
People really enjoy getting out and taking in so many options from Duluth to Ashland Wisconsin. There is so much to do and see you would have to stay the whole summer. Many folks also just love to hunker down at the cabin and just relax.
