Cottage Living with all the Home Comforts you'd Expect.

Ashley Bank comprises of two fully furnished and equipped to high standard cottages with all the home comforts you'd expect to find. Please note, use of the hot tub is available as an optional extra, please message for prices.

Our largest cottage, Ashley Cottage, sleeps 12:

- One double bedroom ensuite bathroom.

- Two twin bedrooms with shared double shower room.

- Two family bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms.

- Both family bedrooms have one king size and one single bed.

- All the bed linen and towels are provided.

- Gas central heating.

- In addition there are Two cots and two high chairs.

- One large sitting room with Sky TV, Netflix & Wireless speaker.

- An electric real flame stove in the sitting room.

- The dinning room seats 16 comfortably.

- Quick Free WiFi connection.

- A very well equipped kitchen with a 6 burner gas cooker, microwave oven, dishwasher and fridge/ freezer, & sink.

- Has all the home comforts you'd expect including a laundry room with washing machine, dryer and drying racks for wet boots after a long walk.

- Backs out onto a spacious, secure, private three-quarter acre lawned garden, patio and BBQ area, including gas BBQ and outdoor Table Tennis Table.

-Secure bike storage available.

- Swing set and storage box containing outdoor equipment such as balls, shuttlecocks and bats, plus a junior football post, giving fun for lads and dads alike!

Our smaller cottage, Beechtree Cottage, sleeps between 2 and 4:

- Accessed across a small courtyard from Ashley Cottage.

- One double bedroom with ensuite shower room to sleep two.

- Fully equipped kitchen, including gas hob, oven, microwave oven and fridge/freezer.

- Open plan living room, kitchen and dining area.

- Ability to extend sofa in living room into a sofa bed to sleep a further two comfortably.

- Sky TV and Netflix.

- Quick WiFi connection.

- Gas central heating.

- Equipped with fresh, white bed linen and towels.

- We are now a dog friendly establishment, limited to two dogs unless via prior arrangement at an additional charge of £30 per dog per stay, to cover additional cleaning.

- Ample parking for up to seven large vehicles.

Lovely accommodation in pastoral setting

Lovely and comfortable renovation that suited our large family group well. The kitchen was very well appointed, which was so appreciated as we did all of our own cooking. The large grassy space was perfect for the teenagers and children and the games and activities were a happy addition as well. Great laundry set-up, and plenty of hot water for all the showers for a group of fourteen! Hosts were friendly and communicative. 100% recommend staying here.

Lovely getaway for the new Year with family

Lovely cottage perfect for our family getaway for new year 2024/25! 12 adults 2 children (aged 3 & 8 months)! & 2 dogs!Absolutely stunning cottage everything you could want included with all bedrooms excluding 2 having en-suite. 1 large communal bathroom for the 2 single bedrooms. I would definitely recommend but things to note as I clearly hadn’t read the small print !! 2 adults had to go in a separate cottage which was attached to the main cottage but had a separate entrance this cottage also has a separate kitchen area and a pull out sofa bed if you have a party of 14 which we originally had so wouldn’t have been ideal - also again me not reading the small print I also thought the hot tub was included but this was an additional 300 for the 3 night stay!! Huge garden for the dogs to run around and if this would have been in the summer time beautiful for anyone taking a family with children to play outside football net and children’s climbing frame unfortunately for us it was extreme cold so didn’t make use of this area! Would definitely go back again pub 30 minute walk away nice flat walk via a back road / path so off the main road which was ideal to get out of the cottage and the pub had lovely food and very welcoming! Kingshead ravensdale ! Overall would definitely return lovely host kitchen had everything you needed with a large oven and no washing up due to large dishwasher! Thank you for making our new year special!

Relaxed hen weekend

I recently organised a hen weekend for 15 people and we stayed in this beautiful home. The house was immaculate and had everything we needed. The photos don’t do this house justice, it is lovely. There was plenty of room for everyone and was ideal for the relaxed type of hen doo the bride wanted. Access to the hot tub was great, the hot tub was well maintained and we were given instructions on how to use it etc when we got there by the lovely host. The host was very welcoming and informative. The house had everything we needed and we loved buddy the speaker which is a great addition! We enjoyed a trip out to a local pub for a meal which was only a 4 minute drive away. All in all an amazing weekend spent with family and friends in an amazing location. We will definitely be returning customers with family in the future xx

Super place

We really enjoyed our stay at Ashley Bank. The house is bigger than it looks from the pictures, and super-well-equipped. We particularly appreciated abundant hot water and great showers….and the laundry/drying room was fantastic. Debbie and Max were very welcoming and helpful. All in all, a great place 👍

Birthday celebration

The property was a described. Accomodated our group of family and friends perfectly. The spacious cottages were very clean and tidy and were extremely well equipped with everything to make our visit home from home. The additional hire of the hot tub delighted the birthday girl. Response and contact from Debbie and Max was very quick and all questions/queries were answered. Highly recommend these cottages for large groups of people.

13 of us visited for a stag do in the Lakes. House was perfect - great hosts, loads of room, not too far from the Lake District. Will be my first choice for future trips.

Fantastic stay, whole family enjoyed our weekend

Fantastic cottage with amazing grounds, lovely, clean and cosy. Hot tub was a fantastic bonus, the children enjoyed the swings and slide and all the outdoor toys. Everyone enjoyed their stay and looking forward to more visits hopefully in the future, a great place for groups up to 16 people.

Perfect group gathering

Not hard to find, ample parking and a great property in the best part of the country. Loads of communal space to enjoy with your friends as well as walks around the area. Friendly and helpful owners who aren’t scared to accommodate “stag” parties such as ours. Many thanks, we’ll be back again!

A really special stay!

Booked this beautiful property to celebrate my Mam's 60th birthday. Honestly, it could not have been more perfect! Clean, tidy and comfy with lovely communal spaces for us to enjoy meals and some celebrations together. The bedrooms were wonderful and again, very comfortable. Debbie and Max were fantastic hosts and very helpful and responsive prior to our visit, they gave us lots of information about the local area and places to eat, visit etc. The added extra of the hot tub is well worth it! We made full use of this facility and it really turned our weekend away into a proper holiday. Really hope to stay in this property again in the future. Oh, and very dog friendly too which is always a plus! Thank you for an unforgettable stay!

Beautiful place in tranquil surroundings

Everything about our stay was perfect. Communication was spot on from the owners and they made us feel very welcome. Although they live on site we didn't feel their presence at all. Everything was clear, comfortable and relaxed. Can't recommend it highly enough.

Anniversary Celebration

Three generations plus 2 dogs enjoyed a short break to celebrate a 60th Wedding Anniversary. The properties were absolutely fantastic for our group of 10. Plenty of room for teenagers and adults plus huge garden for dogs (and teenagers)

Excellent accomodation and great hosts!

This accomodation has tick all the boxes. Everything you needed are being provided except for food, of course. Location is very quiet but with huge backyard and beautiful view. Main attraction like Smardale viaduct is just 30-40 minutes walk. You can ask the hosts for the hot tub if you need to hire one. It is also a dog friendly accommodation which is a bonus. There are so many good things about this accomodation which is why I highly recommended it. Will definitely coming back.

Nothing short of Amazing !! The perfect family break! With great host!

What a hidden gem! Debbie and Max were fantastic, so kind and friendly ! The cottages were beautiful with the most amazing views !! The website does not do it justice ! This is the perfect stay for a family gathering. The perfect place to shut of and enjoy family time. Max and Debbie were on hand for any needs and are such a friendly couple! We will most defiantly be booking again. The hot tub is a added extra but well worth it ! There is not anything that hasn’t been thought off! Thank you !!

Perfect place for big groups.

The cottages were perfectly equipped for big groups, were really clean and we felt completely at home. With endless walks from the front door, a hot tub and plenty of kit for games in the garden we didn't need to get in the car once for our whole stay. Will be going back!

50th birthday celebration

We have just got back from a 3 night stay. We were 8 adults, 4 kids, 2 dogs. The property was lovely, very clean and had everything we needed for our stay. We've all had the best time. Debbie and Max were lovely.

Hi, we are Max & Debbie, we have owned Ashley Bank for 6 years, and absolutely love it here. We have spent most of this time renovating and decorating the cottages and landscaping the grounds, luckily I love decorating and Max loves gardening! We have 2 dogs that live on site with us, both love people and children, although Flynn(Hungarian Viszla) is a little selective when it comes to other dogs! Monty, golden Labrador loves everyone and everything, but they have their own space so you may not even know they’re around. We also have Doris, our 3 year old tortoise, but you probably won’t even know she exists. We do lots of walking locally and are always happy to share all of our favourite spots. We do hope all our visitors enjoy this beautiful part of the world as much as we do.
