Sorry to hear that you didn't stay at the apartment. Flat 1 is on the first floor (one flight from the street level, with the apartment door immediately on the left after 20 or so steps). It's a shame that you were not able to enjoy a stay in Edinburgh.

Sorry that the shower space is quite small: because the building is Victorian there are limited options in the shower room. Thanks for taking the time to wrote a review. We will look in to the issues highlighted to make improvements. Because this is a conservation area there are restrictions on what renovations are permitted for the traditional sash-and-case windows. Because of the city-centre location it's difficult to guarantee total peace and quiet, so the recommendation for earplugs is a good one. I can only apologise for not being able to facilitate you leaving luggage on your departure day; because we coudn't give this option, we gave a number of pointers to left-luggage facilities that are available in the city. We had other guests arriving on the same day, and they had taken the option of dropping luggage during the afternoon. We therefore couldn't offer the option to you. However, I note that we did make an arrival-day arrangement for you to drop luggage earlier. Unfortunately we cannot always offer luggage storage at both the start/end of a stay when we have a same-day changeover. When cleaning schedules and guest arrival times allow, we make these options available; we're happy for guests to check on whether or not we can make these arrangements. Best regards, Martin

We too like the historical feel of the building and the apartment. Thanks too for your suggestions, which are very helpful. In general since it's self-catering guests usually bring their own toiletries, etc. and there are nearby small grocers (one is just two doors away on the corner of the Royal Mile) and larger supermarkets a few minutes' walk away. We find that mainly guests can then choose their prefered brands, etc. The window seat idea is a great and we'll look into adding a chair there or building a window seat; thanks for this idea.

Thanks for taking the time to write a review and it's good to hear that you enjoyed the location and also the views from the roof terrace at the top of the building. This apartment has a shower room (no bathtub) and the shower room and shower are quite small because of the nature of the buildings in the Old Town; it makes it difficult to have larger spaces in this type of apartment.
