The place was in disrepair. Old cabinets with the finish totally off. Bathrooms were old and fixtures spotted Paint peeling. Carpets were so bad I had to put a sheet over them to walk on them. The owner must never stay there. I don’t appreciate a VRBO rented by a management company. That’s not how it should be. This needs to be updated before it is rented again

Spectacular ocean view from extended balcony!!! Great location halfway between water activities. Wonderful management company. Spacious unit with a large kitchen island, full size washing machine and dryer, a beach umbrella, couple of beach chairs, and some beach toys. Very well equipped kitchen! Unit is clean, including crisp, clean bed sheets, with the exception of the carpets in the bedrooms that are in bad condition. Carpet in the master bdrm caused health issues for us so, unit is not recommended for anyone with allergies, asthma, or respiratory conditions. Once the carpet and padding are removed and replaced, unit is highly recommended. We arrived late and could have really used a cold bottle of water. So, I left unopened bottles of water in the fridge for the next guests. Not sure if that’s allowed (first VRBO).

Family vacay with my girls

We had an amazing trip! The view from the condo, especially waking up with a view from the master suite was phenomenal! Even when our AC stopped working, the property management had it fixed before we returned from our day outings. I highly recommend!

Peaceful Beach Trip

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our second time at this complex and first in the unit. The needs some updating to bring it up to other rental units, especially in the hallway bath and second bedroom. Bring something to cover the window in the second bedroom as the outside light is bright and the shades don't block the light. The location is perfect, you can see the fireworks from the pier off your balcony if you don't want to walk to the beach. Beach service provided, front row everyday on the white sands and clear water.

Needs updated

First of all the location was great. The guest room has a double bed, not queen and twin, the mattresses really need to be replaced, very old and worn out. The carpet really needs to go, it’s awful!! The place just really needs tlc and maintenance done. When we arrived, on Saturday we had couldn’t get WiFi, from our checking paperwork. On Monday morning I called, maintenance showed up Tuesday to fix. It was a very quick and easy fix but not timely, but also not urgent. I would probably come to the resort again just not this room.

Sunrise, Sunset at the Beach

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This condo was the perfect place to stay. So easy to walk right out onto the beach, the best part of the stay. But having lunch on the 4th floor balcony overlooking the ocean was just as nice. Seeing the sunrise and sunset from there, also a favorite. The condo was lovely, clean, and stocked with all of the necessities. We had dinner at Harbor Docks in Destin, where I worked 30 years ago, and the Blackened Grouper is still as delicious as it was back then. We also had dinner at the Aegean where the Greek food was also delicious. And we found that we could walk to the local market on Okaloosa Island. Customer service was excellent as they left phone numbers to call if we needed anything, and we made use of them. The one aspect that upset us was that we left the day before Hurricane Helene hit, not knowing where it might go. We thought we should have received a refund for that night.

Relaxing worry free vacation

I booked 401 for the ocean view and corner unit. It was definitely all I expected. Very clean unit. Pictures are exactly as is. We were able to have a fun filled, stress free vacation. I loved the property location right on the beach and the umbrella with chairs was an extra perk we enjoyed. We didn’t go to the pool because of the close proximity to the beach but it was clean and quiet. We love the Fort Walton / Destin area and plan to come again soon.

Family trip

First of all condo is great location, check in is easy, great view/space, love the beach service . However a few things I think the owners should look into. I think some new couches and throw pillows are needed, bowls and coffee cups. Those were very small and difficult for food items. I’d also touch up some of the paint and replace the shower rods. They had a little mildew on them. Ice machine In fridge wasn’t working great and refrigerator wasn’t keeping things cold. Just cool. We would stay here again otherwise.

Quiet Beach Getaway with Amazing Views!

The view from the balcony is right on the beach and amazing, and we had coffee out there every morning.We only had an issue once after getting into the condo, and Jamie resolved it immediately when I called. Location is away from all the commercial stuff, which we loved. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because from the photos, it looked like the chairs were high (which I was searching for so we did not have to look through the bars when seated). But they were regular height chairs. Also, we brought some wine and snacks to enjoy on the balcony in the evening, and there were no wine glasses- only water and juice glasses.

Great Beach Getaway

Condo was just as described and perfect for our family of five. Two adults, a teen and two under 10. The unit was very clean and had everything we needed to make some meals in, and had a keurig and a regular coffee pot. The view from the balcony was great and a good place to watch dolphins out in the water. The beach was never crowded and always clean and each to get out free beach service. The kids enjoyed the pool for late night swims each night, it was never crowded either. It was nice that the second bedroom has two beds so all three kids could sleep in a bed instead of putting someone on a pull out couch. The neighborhood felt safe and allowed my teenager and I to get out safely for a run each morning. Good restaurants nearby, try Fubar and High Tide. We also went to the Gulfarium while there and all enjoyed that a lot! We will stay at this location again the next time we visit.

401 Summerlin

We had ants in the kitchen. We were notified the dishwasher didn’t work. We waited almost 24 hours for dish soap after the notification. Spoke with Beverly a couple times and she was very nice to accommodate the issues. The maintenance guy came in the next day to fix the ant issue. Difficulty watching tv as majority of channels would glitch out too much. Loved the view. Property is exactly as the listing says.

Wonderful Family Vacation

Thank you Sugar Sands for a home-away-from-home to spend our family vacation. We had everything we needed. 4 adults and 8-year-old child. Condo provided comfort and privacy. Property management is very helpful and responsive. We used the Xplorie discount on a few activities. It was very easy to use. Summerlin is a lower density condominium building. Parking was a breeze. Elevator usage was not a problem. Great location. Beach is absolutely beautiful. The bridge from Fort Walton is under construction, even so, the traffic is nothing like Destin and PCB. Definitely will return.

Great location on the beach

The condo was very clean and comfortable. It worked great for our last minute visit to the beach! My kids loved that there were sand toys to play with and they had a great time swimming in the pool too.
