Deer Creek Cabin, the perfect little get away in the mountains just an hour outside Denver. Warm and cosy. Easy to find with excellent directions by David. Found cabin in tip top shape. Appreciated the flannel sheets! Wild life abounds with nightly visits from raccoons, foxes and birds if deck is salted with nuts. The cabin’s kitchen is cook ing ready. Nice grocery stores on way in from Denver so stock up because once there you won’t want to leave. Great WiFi and internet service. Games and movies if needed. Thankful for the great communications with David. Hope to return.
This property gives you an awesome Rocky Mountain getaway. The views are amazing and the cabin has everything you could possibly need. We will be back.
Jason and his friends and pet were great guests at Deer Creek Log Cabin in Bailey, Colorado. The cleaning crew reported they left the cabin looking great! These are the kind of folks everyone should want to rent their home. I do hope they come again some day!
We stayed the week before Christmas and had an amazing experience. It was private, peaceful, and beautiful. David was a wonderful host and we lacked for nothing during our stay. The fireplace kept us nice and cozy at night and the beds were very comfortable although the pull out in the living room left a lot to be desired. My sister just padded the mattress with extra blankets and said it was better, lol. I'll give you a heads up if your using a GPS. It kept trying to guide us off the paved road, don't do that, just stay on the pavement and the winding road will eventually lead you to the driveway. We arrived after dark so not having daylight to guide us was a bit confusing but we found it. David was right, the driveway will be a challenge in winter but we made it up the hill without too much difficulty. We spent most of our time staying in and enjoying the solitude and tranquility of the surrounding mountains. The hot tub was so relaxing, the grill fired up instantly, the fireplace was cozy, the satellite tv was great, the shower was hot (yay), the kitchen was well stocked and we enjoyed the cabin life to the fullest...and then we had to leave ;( We just want to thank David once again for sharing his lovely little piece of heaven with us and highly recommend this beautiful little cabin if you're ever in the area.
Everything about the cabin was perfect and peaceful. Will defiantly return next time I’m traveling in Colorado.
Hiking: You are only minutes from great hiking trail heads in the Pike National Forest from Deer Creek Cabin. You'll see those signs as you drive to the cabin. We have hiked the Rosalie Trail, the Tanglewood Trail and the Meridian Trail, all close to the cabin.
Fishing: If you are a fisherman there is no doubt that you have heard of South Park. Even back in the old days, South Park fishing and hunting had reached the ears of people in distant lands. They came from as far away as England and Ireland to enjoy the plentiful bounty of the Park. South Park is the name and fishing is the game.
Skiing: You are 1.5 hours from Breckenridge Ski Resort. Take I-285W to Fairplay, then Hwy. 9 through Hoosier Pass to Breckenridge. You are also only 2 hours from Winter Park. Take I-285W East toward Denver to Conifer, turn right there to Evergreen to I-70 and follow a map from there.
Whitewater Rafting: We enjoy River Runners. Their Fisherman's Bridge office is located on the banks of the Arkansas River just 5 miles south of Buena Vista on US Hwy 285. With gentle waters, awesome scenery and exciting rapids this section of river offers something for people of all ages and abilities.

Why David McCollough chose Bailey
David fell in love with this secluded log cabin the moment he walked inside in 1999. He bought it on the spot. It has been a special place for him ever since. He is proud to say 99.9% of all folks who have rented it feel the same way, because most of them are repeat renters year after year.
What makes this Cabin unique
This cabin contains NO sheetrock. It is log inside and out. The floor to ceiling windows in the main room boast amazing views of the mountains and forest surrounding the cabin. The deck on 3 sides of the cabin is 8 feet deep giving plenty of room to be outside and enjoy the amazing Colorado atmosphere. Standing on the deck you are almost 9,000 feet up in the Rocky Mountains! There are 2 fabulous easy hiking trails on national forest within 10 minutes of the cabin... Meridian Trail and Tanglewood Trail.
