About Geoff

I live away and allow myself a short trip to the mountains to just relax. This property affords that . I have done a lot of traveling and I always gravitate to the mountains whether it be here and or the Rockies. Have brought back many ideas to this cabin from the west.

Geoff purchased this cabin in 2000

Why Geoff chose Robbinsville

This cabin fell my way and I am so happy to have been there to take advantage and add to its charm. It was locally milled and I have added many extras to the cabin. I am so thankful to be the owner. I am always working on upgrades and pulled it off the market to upgrade again in the 2017 year.

What makes this cabin unique

This cabin affords not only all amenities but a western flair and has the charm and luxury of nature at its very best. Come relax and enjoy just as I do.

Come swing/rock on our front porch and enjoy nature at its very best. That will only add to the charm of this cabin and its amenities. Our county is the most beautiful and is hard to find in any other areas around. It is mostly National Forest. I feel honored to have my acreage and private.

The cabin is listed on as a 3 BEDROOM AND A 2 BATHROOM cabin is actually only a 2 BEDROOM AND 1 AND 3/4 BATHROOM cabin.

The beds did not have clean linens on them. Both had hair in them, one was totally covered in black hair and the pillow had a perfume smell to it... disgusting! I slept on the top of the bed because the sheets were obviously not changed, one friend slept in the recliner and the other slept on the couch. Had we not arrived just before dark, we would’ve stayed the night due the horrific conditions. The air filter hasn’t been changed in months... disgusting! The stand up shower in the attic space leaked down into the tub... obviously a health risk with mold! The ceiling height is so low that I hit my head. We found feces in one of the bedrooms... disgusting! The driveway is so steep and washed out that it was incredbly dangerous to ride the Harleys up it. And it took all three guys to bring each Harley down the driveway. Every stone on your front steps are loose. None of the doors opened fully as they scraped the floor.

Owner's Response: First paragraph under description says: . Beautifully professionally decorated . 2 Bedroom up with sleeper futon down, 2 baths, one on each floor, full kitchen, laundry, dining, wall of stone wood burning fireplace, TV and living room. This is under description and 1st paragraph, if Eric would read. This 1 STAR rated by me guest is arrogant and unhappy that he goofed and his one buddy, had a futon/sleeper sofa to sleep on. He did not like a rut on one side of drive from heavy run off and 3 men had to "drop" their Harley's at end of road. (maybe 20 ft driveway if that). No steep driveway here. Crazy!!! Better drive/road than what he drives over and on the side of the wheels of bike going around curves at obnoxious speeds. The bed thing was/is a fabricated story. We have our pictures and is of a different material. . Smell is from fabric softener and dryer sheets and Febreze on area rug. Guess he like the musty -earthy smell. Every housekeeping rule was broken and he left door unlocked, key in pad but not closed, left window in one bedroom wide open, glasses at sink, garbage in cans. . We have pictures of this and have 3 witness of conditions going in and pictures and witness and pictures of his leaving. So sorry Eric that you did not like the cabin and let me suggest you may need to pay more than $125 night to get a 3 bedroom plus in our area. Beautifully professionally decorated cabin but it is 2 bedroom and queen futon for the 3rd sleeping area.

Relaxing Getaway

  • 4 of 5

It is a beautiful setting, and comfortable. If you are looking for a quiet get away it is perfect. It is a little rough if you are on motorcycles but doable. We had a great stay, in beautiful country

Owner's Response: Rough? I hope you did not follow the GPS and go down Jim's Lane. It is a private road and that is why I give you written directions. Road is smooth if you take the right one. Great for bikers, I think or I am told.

Huffman Hit!

  • 4 of 5

I have stayed in a TON of rentals in or around the Robbinsville area over the years. This was my first experience in the Huffman Creek area and I have to say it will not be my last. This area is close enough to town yet far enough away to really enjoy the family which is what vacations are all about. Though small, this place was neat and clean and offer an abundance of wildlife right outside the front door!

Cramped, with a very unpleasant smell

  • 1 of 5

When my wife and I were there, the cabin smelled intensely of mothballs. The smell was strong everywhere in the cabin, on the porch, and on the patio; there was nowhere we could get away from it. We could smell it from twenty feet away from the cabin. The smell did not go away when we opened the windows, which are small. We couldn't stand to spend much time there.

The cabin felt cramped: it's not just small, it has low ceilings too. It's easy to hit your head on the kitchen cabinets.

I stayed in two other vacation rentals in Graham County that were much larger and cheaper and did not smell bad.

Owner's Response: there was a pest treatment outside the day before and he told us about the treatment, when he wrote a note the next morning. Pest was for repellant of any snakes that may come out of woods. We told him what was done and why. . He said no smell inside just outside when they opened the window. I have that written from him and not in and out smell. I went there within 6 hours of his next morning email and no smells in our out at all. In fact I stayed there for 3 days and enjoyed it and never had a pest control smell. . That was ridiculous, I think he just did not like the area or the cabin, while others do. Perhaps it is too much country for their youthful taste. Each his own!

An exceptionally-comfortable cabin

  • 5 of 5

Anne and I were very pleased with the layout, amenities and cleanliness of this rental.

It's location on a sunny hillside is perfect for cool mornings on the porch with a cup of coffee, and a nice warming respite after being waist-deep in the creeks all day long hunting trout.

The linens, kitchen gear, bath and other amenities were quite nice, and the interior design is interesting with a western theme.

The CATV features enough channels for late-night perusing, the wifi is sketchy but that is to be expected in the area and connectivity can be found with a bit of healthy walking around the property (which we were doing anyway!).

We will definately consider returning, and you'll find the hosts dedicated to your enjoying your visit-

Cozy cabin

  • 4 of 5

My husband and I and 2 teenagers spent a long weekend in this cozy log cabin and had the most incredible time reconnecting without the distractions of video games, internet, big screen TVs, electronics, and their friends. It was a joy to eat meals together again, play card/table games, watch movies, hike, creek, and swim in Lake Santeetlah. What a rich weekend it was!
