Property Manager/Owner purchased this house in 2009
We were immediately enamored with this property when we first saw it and bought it. Named after the amazing hills and family heritage of Clare County Ireland, this property has spectacular views of all surrounding hills. To the north is a 50 mile view of the Paso Robles basin, west brings the comforting cool breeze of the Cayucos-Morro Bay ocean, and the eastern hills offer a welcoming sunrise to make any morning, a 'good' morning. Clare Ranch offers a beautiful serene setting any season of the year.
We've been very fortunate to stay several times and have loved every minute. Wonderful location with great views, very nice and comfortable accommodation, clean and well maintained, excellent kitchen and open plan living. Plus very nice owners! Highest recommendation for a visit to the Central Coast!
We had a wonderful experience at this property. It is perfect for traveling with kids as well. We felt relaxed, surrounded by so much beauty and really enjoyed relaxing on the deck and running around the ranch.
Thanks to Clare Ranch Winery for the use of their guesthouse. Our two couples stayed in the house very comfortably and we made full use of the nice sized kitchen. The wrap around deck and benches make for sitting outside in the evening very relaxing. We even enjoyed dinner on the deck under the stars. One quaint and unique perk was being able to pick walnuts right off the tree from the deck, delicious!! We also enjoyed the small touches such as books, entertainment system, & decorations that made it special. Their own wine was on the table as a welcome gift and tastes very good with dinner or out on the deck looking at the stars. It is very clean, comfortable and I would highly recommend this place. We can't say enough good things about Clare Ranch Winery and their guesthouse.
This lovely place boast charm nestled in the hills of Templeton. The view alone is spectacular with coastal breezes. Wineries are only a mile away! The property is secure and comfortable. And we loved watching the sunrise and sunset every day.
The owners are quite accommodating. We will definitely be back!
We needed a Getaway from the busy SF chaos and made our way down to Templeton. The house had plenty of space for us 2 and our 2 dogs. Great location atop a vineyard with amazing views. The balcony over looks paso robles and was perfect for coffee in the morning and a bottle or two of wine in the evening. Great weekend.
This gem of a hideaway was perfect for our family of four(2 young kids). We had an easy short drive to the coast, SLO, Heart Castle, wineries, waterpark, etc.
The 2 best things about the property were the location and the actual house itself. I'll detail them below:
Location: the house is located on top of a hill on a winery that gets coastal breezes in what is usually warm Templeton. The winery, the barn, everything has tons of charm. The Winery is gated so we felt super safe. The neighbors are mostly deer and quail.
House itself: The house is roomy and charming. The kitchen is fantastic and well stocked. We enjoyed making dinner there every night while sitting on the back porch watching the sun kiss the surrounding hills. Being able to use the Santa Maria style grill every night was a huge plus, and there is wood and fire starter there to use. The steaks and tri-tip we made had that central coast taste that we love. The rest of the house is great with a large bathroom and bedrooms.
I would recommend to anyone to stay at the house, we just hope it's open next year so we can use it!
