Remote location outside Kingston easily found. Owner couple lives close on property. Beach located just beyond yard. Nice short sandy beach walk in both directions. Friendly neighbor. House equipped with all the basics; not luxury but clean and convenient. Learning light switch locations takes a while. Be prepared: Keurig coffee maker. Dog friendly was important to us. 10 minutes to downtown Kingston, partially over gravel road under construction summer 2026. Grocery Outlet, bakery and Mexican restaurant easily reached, not to mention all Kingston restaurants and carry out. Top pick: Kingston Ale House (crab cakes to die for). For fun take the ferry to Edmonds; (Rick Steves store there open Saturdays only).

Peaceful beach getaway

This is an exceptional location for observing both nature and the varied ships sailing by. My grandkids loved the sandy beach and spotting rabbits, deer, eagles and orcas! It was a truly peaceful and relaxing stay. The host is very warm and helpful in every way.

Amazing location at a sweet rustic cabin

We absolutely loved our stay at this cabin on the beach. The wildlife, location and hospitality were magical. We saw eagles, otters, seals and dear! Thank you to our hosts who provided the perfect getaway!

Great View& Quiet

Even though it was an older property, it was in good shape and very functional. Short walk to beach and great view from front windows... Also good location for poking around the area.

Nicely equipped, older cottage in a very private area with a fantastic beach location. We had it all to ourselves. It is down a narrow private road. The cottage had everything we needed. Saw lots of wildlife in and out of the water. Host was very nice and accommodating. I would stay here again.

This is the perfect beach retreat. The Sound is steps away, and the atmosphere is peaceful and beautiful. We enjoyed walking the shore, collecting shells, watching the boats and ships pass by, and enjoying the host's gorgeous gardens. The guest house is simple and easy, with everything you'll need. Not far away are quaint little towns like Port Gamble and Poulsbo. Highly recommended, and we hope to return one day!

Very Quiet place on the beach

This was the perfect place for my wife and I to stay for four days. We both have very demanding careers and this simple cozy little cottage (beach house) was the perfect solution allowing us to shed away all the corporate stresses of the world. Tanya was an exceptional host too!!

Beautiful location and property

My husband had a fantastic stay at this house. It was well stocked and has an amazing view. He was thrilled to see an otter bounding back and forth at the far end of the backyard. It was so cute!

For the price we paid, we were surprised by the condition of the property when we arrived. The building itself was not in good condition and a large, new home was in front of it, blocking some of the view. All windows were open when we arrived, probably in an attempt to mask the musty odor inside. Contacting the owner, she was unable to give us clear directions on how to find the house and, unfortunately, Google maps only got us part of the way there. There were very few amenities to make the stay comfortable. Despite the listing, there was no queen bed in the home - only 2 doubles and a twin. The beds themselves were very old, but decently comfortable.The good is that the setting is very nice. It is peaceful and quiet - there are flowers everywhere and lots of wildlife to see. Had we paid a rate more commensurate with the house and had the listing been accurate, we would've been able to give a better review.

The location is shown on the listing/photos. Thank you for your kind comments about our peaceful setting, the wildlife, and the beautiful plants. We'd also like to clarify that the cottage was furnished with a standard queen-size bed during your stay, and we will continue to provide the same queen bed as shown in our listing photos. During the summer, we often leave the windows open so the cool ocean breeze can naturally cool the cottage. Guests are always welcome to close the windows if they prefer. As is common in the Pacific Northwest, we do not use or provide air conditioning for cooling. We will continue working to improve our service while preserving the cottage's traditional charm. We carefully select a small number of quality antique furnishings, including some antique bed frames, to create the cozy, seaside atmosphere shown in our photos. Thank you again for staying with us, and we appreciate your feedback.

Puget Sound retreat

Such a beautiful area of Puget Sound! Gorgeous view of the water with Edmonds across the Sound. Low tide is like being inside the Touch Tank at the aquarium. Abundant with marine life! The beach at high tide is sandy and lovely to walk on or sit and enjoy the view with otters, sea lions, osprey, etc. Also, very quiet and peaceful. The house is older but comfortable and clean. We loved our stay there.

Weird cottage

This is the most thrown together property I have ever seen. It felt like something patched together from the refurbished store. Seriously, the pink bathtub had a 3/4” ball valve on it for the shower. The doors are so weird, no two match and it has lanyards as door pulls. The beach view is gorgeous, but for the price skip this one.

Serenity Now!

There’s not much more I can say outside of FANTASTIC!!! The property was exactly as described, which just doesn’t do it justice! It’s located down a nice private drive, away from the hustle and bustle of other tourists such as myself going to and fro from the ferry. Which is conveniently close as well. And the shops in Kingston and Edmonds were truly wonderful and friendly to visit. I can’t say enough about the cottage though. It was fantastic and it was just what we needed to enjoy our trip. It was amazing to wake up in the morning and go outside and enjoy my coffee with the very serene view and nature surrounding the area. Felt very much at home, and was able to find peace and calmness as we started each day and ended every evening. I will definitely be back!

Incredible Location!

House is cozy & rustic, but space is used well and we had everything we needed. The location simply can’t be beat!! Just steps to a sandy beach that we had to ourselves the entire time we were there. We loved watching the big ships that pass by and saw bald eagles on every beach walk. My kids had SO much fun exploring and finding “treasures.” We spent our evenings by a fire on the beach, watching the sunset and making s’mores. Made some great memories and will definitely come back to this area again! Just a note: This isn’t listed as a “guest cottage,” but the owner does live right next to the house and was around during our stay. Tanya was very kind and accommodating, but if you feel uncomfortable about the owner being around, this may not be the place for you. Otherwise, would absolutely recommend!

Orcas, Eagles and more!

I love this place!! Can’t wait to come back next year. I saw orcas two different days, Eagles almost every day, sea lions, deer and more. Huge ships go right by!! Tanya and her husband are the best hosts! This house is exactly as described. I had everything I needed. Comfy beds, beautiful views from all of the front side windows, full size fridge and stove, washer and dryer. I was there 12 nights and was sad to leave. Kingston and the surrounding area have alot to offer in the way of experiences. If you are looking for peace and tranquillity with a large dose of wildlife and views this is the place for you.

Wonderful experience

Clean, comfortable, and amazing view. We saw wildlife on land and water, lots of shipping traffic, and beautiful views all from the comfort of a cozy living room. Lovely beach to walk on and so quiet and peaceful. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone.

A delightful cottage!

We absolutely enjoyed this wonderful, comfortable home. It is a small cottage but the layout provides enough room and good spaces and privacy for family members. We had everything we needed, plus access to the best sandy beach! So close to many restaurants, shops, sight seeing, and the ferry. Our thanks to Tanya for a very special visit.

Quiet and Peaceful

We rented this unit for a family get together and everything was as described, including the wildlife sightings. One morning, my daughter was able to sit on the beach and watch 4 sea otters frolick about 10 yards off shore, and there were a couple resident deer sightings as well.

We have lived and raised our kids in this beautiful area for more than 20 years. In our spare time we enjoy walking on the beach, tending to our garden and exploring the National Olympic parks and little towns in this area that are filled with local art, gardens, and enticing scenery. We renovated our cottage and create an place with wood floors, 3 confortable beds in 3 private rooms with windows, and some unique finitures and local arts. We hope that you would love and enjoy our place!
