This lakefront cottage is an ideal getaway for a family!
You may also catch a glimpse or our resident bald eagle, blue herons or beavers! The lake is small (46 acres) so no motor boats are allowed, keeping it nice and quiet. Fishermen tout the wide-mouth bass, perch, pickerel, grouper and more. There are so many ways to enjoy the outdoors--swim from the float, lounge on the shore or enjoy the fire pit at night.
• All told, the cottage can hold up to 4 adults comfortably with 2 extra mattresses for children. There is an additional pull-out sofa as well. See cottage diagram image for more info. • There is a private dock and rowboat for your use only. I am so glad you had a nice time, we hope you do come back!
Amazing place! We have stayed numerous times at this property. Little Elk Lake is awesome for fishing. The bald eagles that live in the tree across the lake are fun to watch.

It would have been great if you could have sent me a picture, because I honestly don't know what you are talking about.
It was nice short vacation on the lake, kitchen well equipped, bedding stuff was clean, may be carpet needs some attention. Best of all was swimming from the raft! Water is deep there, warm and so relaxing! Enjoyed motorized boat, and fishing was good mainly 1.5 lb bass, released back to water. Owners responded quickly to any questions. Highly recommend!
This cabin is very relaxing and comfortable. I recommend bringing binoculars so you can view the Bald Eagles perching on a tree across the lake. Great place to stay for a weekend!
Enjoyed our stay. Luckily, we have family in the area and they were able to supply sheets and towels as we all flew in from Arizona. Nice place accommodated us well….Perhaps the carpet could use a little cleaning but other than that we enjoyed our stay.!!!
Our visit to Little Elk Lake was, once again, stellar. The home is quaint and cozy. Had fun in the lake and on the dock and exploring the woods around us. Can't wait till our next visit!
Beautiful, tranquil, setting. Very peaceful.
House was very well stocked, with more amenities than other rentals we have gone to.
Owner was easy to get in touch with, and responded quickly.
Overall, a very enjoyable week.
My friend and I had a wonderfully relaxing long weekend getaway here. The cottage is comfortable and has great views of the lake from both indoor and outdoor spaces. The owners thoughtfully provided a canoe for our use and a notebook filled with helpful information about local attractions.
This visit makes the 4th or 5th time we’ve stayed here. Never disappoints. Went exploring the woods, visit to Robas Farm for pumpkins, lounged around and relaxed while taking in the extraordinary view of the changing colors. Can’t wait for our next stay.
Another perfect visit to Little Elk Lake. Weather was great. Ran RC speed boats on the lake from the center dock; went exploring; relaxed. Always a good time unwinding and enjoying the woods, lake, and surrounding area. Next trip is already booked. :)
We've been to the property several times now. It is always clean and quiet and peaceful. Perfect for a getaway to unwind and enjoy being out in nature. We are finding new things to do with each visit. The new room upgrade was terrific and made the sleeping arrangements more "cozy". We are already looking at our anticipated next visits and will rebook for another trip in the near future!
This was a nice cabin. It was nothing fancy but very clean and comfortable. The only drawback was there was only one window unit in one bedroom. Fortunately, the nights were cool so we really didn't need AC. The lake view was pretty, there was lots of space to move around inside and outside.
If you hope to get away from all the noise of life, this is the place to stay! Quiet, secluded, and lots of nature and wildlife... We really enjoyed being out on the lake with the boat provided. We saw a Bald Eagle, giant turtles, deer, and beavers. Fishing is great also.
I was hoping for better communication from the host. When reaching out with a question or concern, the host would not get back to me until the next day, in one instance did not respond at all.
I did a solo trip (+pup) to reset after a particularly rough work season. The cabin was lovely, rustic worn furniture but cozy and comfortable. The house was packed with the essentials including fire wood. There was a smart tv mounted in the living room and the water pressure was perfect in the shower. They did have a deep tub that would have been perfect for a bath, but due to the water pump cost, it felt wrong to waste the water. The host communicated clearly all the tricks and tips for the stay. I highly recommend this location for a quiet or family stay!

lovely spot, none of other houses occupied !
We love quiet and it was quiet; only noise was 3 half days of tree cutting next door, but we tried to escape by boating and checking out the county.Would like to see a curtain in front door and a toilet seat that does not slide around. The algae at the dock were bad.Geese arrived every night on the float...…...and pooped ! We really enjoyed our stay and would probably come back.

My wife and I, with our dog, enjoyed a long weekend here.
It is definitely rustic and could possibly benefit from some upgrades here and there, but it is clean and everything worked perfectly.
The location is great, at the end of a quiet road, on the edge of a lake.
We saw so much wildlife: bald eagle, turkeys, deer, rabbits, red and grey squirrels, groundhogs, hummingbirds and so many other birds.
We used the firepit one night, listening to the active fish in the lake and enjoying the night sky. Remember to bring firewood.
We had a lot of rain while there, and a lot of the back yard got a bit squishy, but not too soft that we couldn't walk across it.
In summary, we had a lovely time here and would absolutely go back.
Our family had a wonderful time kayaking, and jumping off the floating dock in the small, peaceful lake. Our kids also enjoyed the play set in the yard where they sang at the top of their lungs on the swings. Unfortunately, we had quite a bit of rain, and were not able to use the fire pit, but I’m sure that would have been fun as well. The designated sleeping areas are private enough to accommodate quite a large group. The dinghy was out of commission, so the owners provided their canoe for us to use. Most of the appliances worked well, but we did have a problem with the washing machine, but the owners were very responsive, and immediately came to see if they could rectify the situation. Overall, we had a very nice family getaway.
The property is surrounded by nature and wildlife, including eagles who had their nest high up in the tree across the lake. Every time I went by with the boat, I heard the eaglets cry, when dad delivered food to the nest:) I absolutely loved being out on the lake fishing, and listening to nature and seeing abundant wildlife! I appreciated having the small boat, that comes with the house. The only thing I would recommend, is getting a second battery for the boat motor as a back up. I went out on the lake every morning and evening. I charged the battery overnight, but it never fully charged. As a result, the battery died when I was out on the lake, and I had to row the boat back, which was no big deal. The house was clean, and I had everything I needed. Thank you for making my stay enjoyable!
Not so cozy cottage (yuck is a understatement) wish I could show pictures
We had the worst vacation we left after 2 days ! Looks Nothing like the pictures. We arrived to a place that was dirty there were roaches in the coffee pot, dead roaches under the sink and in the bathroom every pot pan or dish was greasy i spent 2 hours cleaning up to try to get it to a point where my family could be and that still wasn't enough ! Nothing is close by I had to drive 10+ miles to get a coffee pot because I wasn't going to use one that was nasty dirty I was told by Karen i could have just rinsed it out. She has made this whole ordeal even worse. The blankets that they provided were dirty and smelled and had holes in them,The master bedroom smelled and there were mouse droppings in the corners. karen the owner was not helpful at all she did reimburse us for the cleaning fee coffee pot replacement and not being able to use the floating dock because it was fully covered a inch in goose poop and there is a rotting bail of hay on the porch thats the first thing you see ! I understand there is no control over the geese but still someone should go out and clean it between guests! and whatever " cleaning crew " they use should be fired if thats what they call clean ! The outside screened in porch was also dirty I provided pictures of everything and still Karen has been rude and told me why we shouldn't have issues with these things . I asked for reimbursement of the time we left which I think is fair that we were still willing to pay for the time we spent there I certainly hope that no one else ever encounters the dump we went in to . Leson to be learned always go see a place before you book it and pay for it and of you can't and there are issues make sure you leave immediately!

This cottage had a solid 5-start rating until Joanna arrived, and guests are there now having a wonderful time!
We were so concerned about Joanna’s claims that we took a day off work to check the cottage and found it was fine.
There were no vermin. There were no odors. Everything was clean. I have NEVER seen a roach on the premises! Yes, geese did get on the float and there were a few goose droppings (wild animals do sometimes poop in inconvenient places), but it was certainly not covered--we were able to clean it in 15 minutes—and certainly not a game stopper!
The property is exactly as advertised. Some of Joanna’s claims proved to be false, while others were petty. Joanna complained about tiny flecks of dust, little scuff marks, small cobwebs in outdoor spaces like the patio, the garden not being trimmed to her expectations, etc.
Rest assured, this cottage is comfortable and clean! Families and fishermen have enjoyed it for years and continue to do so! We welcome anyone to see the cottage before booking if they like.

Doug and I also own the property next door. My family roots are in Elk Lake. Our children spent many happy vacations here, and we all still love the area.
Why they chose this property
On the end of a dead-end road, this cottage is quiet and surrounded by nature. Swimming from the raft is great, fishing is also popular.
