While there is much to like about the property and the experience, it would be fair to say that we were somewhat stunned to get information just a day or two before our arrival, that included a suggestion to help us get our bags up the flights of stairs. While we were aware that the property was on a first level, and the amenities listed note that it is not suitable for wheelchair access, there is no mention that no lift or alternative to steep and narrow stairs for access exists. We managed, but many wouldn’t, especially if they had heavy bags. So putting that to one side, the apartment is clean, functional, superbly quiet and well equipped. The hosts are very welcoming and keen to offer suggestions.

We are pleased that overall you enjoyed your stay. Robbie :-) We know you enjoyed the wine and chocolate we left you as a welcome gift too. We are sorry you felt you weren't informed early enough that the apartment was up a set of stairs (we stay at many Airbnbs ourselves and only receive check in instructions 2 days before arrival, so this is standard practice) The apartment building is only 2 levels, ground and first floor...we are on the first floor. You received a photo showing you this set of stairs, so you should not have been 'somewhat stunned' to discover it was up a set of stairs. Rarely do apartment blocks of only 2 levels in Australia have a lift..and if you needed a ramp/lift we are surprised you didn't ask when you booked a few months ago and we could have told you incase you wanted to make other arrangements. It's a regular staircase up to our apartment and they are not narrow. Through all our booking platforms we have had over 1500 sets of guests...of all age groups...and not had a complaint that the stairs were an issue. We are sorry you found them to be difficult and suggest for future bookings you might book ground level.

Great Stay

Cannot say enough good with regards to our stay at Capel Sound. The Apartment had everything that we needed to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. The beach was beautiful and only a short walk away, restaurants and shopping also close by. Our hosts were very nice and easy to deal with, would definitely come back again.
