We moved to this house three years ago, after searching for a long time for a quiet spacious place that was still close to our favorite spots in Walnut Creek, and accessible to our work in San Francisco. We're very happy here! We're both frequent travelers: Mike is a writer wtih a home office and appreciates the serenity and inspiration the place offers. Keiko is an artist and a gardener, and loves having this expansive space for growing succulents and other native plants.

The Brodia Green House – our name for the guest house on the property – is a unique property. When we bought the place, we realized the potential for this little gem of a guest house, and we spent several months renovating and upgrading.
The guest house is on the same 1-acre lot as our house, but distant enough to be private, with a private parking area and secluded garden space. We feel this place is a great alternative to those extended stay hotels that we have used countless times in our own travels.
This place is perfect for someone who needs a temporary place for a month or two while relocating, or visiting...or for someone who works independently and needs a place to hunker down for a few weeks to concentrate and get a project done.
Quiet, serene, spacious. All the modern amenities. Perfect for an active person who hikes, bikes, jogs – miles and miles of trails nearby.

We enjoyed staying at Michael's place. It is in a great location, only 10 minutes away from downtown Walnut Creek. The guesthouse is spacious and homey. Michael and Keiko are friendly and helpful. Compared to the high hotel prices in the area, it is good value for the money.

I just completed a two month stay and am sorry that it was time to go. Michael & Keiko are wonderful hosts; the property is spacious and beautiful, inside and out. You need a car but the reward for that is country living just around the corner from the vibrant downtown of Walnut Creek.
First and foremost the property is located in an outstanding part of Walnut Creek with beautiful views and privacy. The owners meticulously maintain the property and if you have a chance to meet them they are wonderful people. My 3 week work assignment in the region was terrific due in part to my accommodations. As an executive with a private equity firm I highly recommend this property.
Neues. komfortables kleines Haus mit grosser Terasse und schönem Ausblick. Besitzer wohnt 50 m entfernt und wenn man will ist man 100%ig privat. Schöne Spazierwege, gute Ausstattung, nette Vermieter. Haus ist für Homeoffice geeignet, Wir waren 1 Monat dort, meine Frau musste täglich nach SFO, völlig unproblematisch mit der 10 Minuten entfernten Barth Verbindung (S Bahn), dauert 30 Min. ins Zentrum, mit Auto 1 Std. Würden wir jederzeit wieder buchen.
Michael and Keiko have done a wonderful job of remodeling their ranch house into a guest house and transforming the grounds into a park. They call it the Brodia Green House, but Shangri-La, Oasis, Eden, would be apt nicknames as well.
The location is ideal; just far enough away from the city to feel like country, but literally a ten or fifteen minute drive to a wide array of city amenities.
The transformation occurred recently, so everything was fresh, new, and clean, with comfortable beds and furniture. A complete and good-sized kitchen with new appliances made meal prep easy as pie, and for those times when we just wanted to be couch taters, the 60” flat screen TV was much appreciated.
But more appreciated than anything else about our stay was getting to know Michael and Keiko, who, as well as being gracious hosts, treated us more like friends than tenants.
