Cumquat Cabin at Easy Street Retreat sits beside the pristine Bellinger River in the beautiful Thora Valley about 30 minutes' drive from Bellingen.
It provides simple, uncomplicated yet attractive accommodation at a very reasonable price.
There's a deep swimming hole very close to the cabin.
Surrounded by national park and state forest, the cabin is a place to unwind and relax. Here at various times of the year you can see fireflies, glow- worms, brightly coloured parrots and pigeons, finches and wrens, hear the mournful sound of black cockatoos as they pass and the electric crack of whip birds as they forage. On the riverbank, water dragons sun themselves and freshwater turtles sunbake on fallen logs. Platypuses can often be seen foraging in early morning or at dusk.
Cumquat Cabin is a perfect staging point to experience the varied attractions of the Bellinger region. The area boasts a flourishing alternate culture, a number of music festivals, vibrant local markets and the world heritage listed Dorrigo National Park.
The cabin is bright and funky and furnished with beauty and comfort in mind. Completely self contained, it includes a kitchen and access to a laundry. All kitchen requirements, cotton bed linen, blankets, quilts and cotton towels are supplied. There's a TV, Blu-ray player and stereo with a selection of movies and music or bring your own. There's also a selection of books and games. Depending on the time of year, there may be fresh home grown produce in the kitchen, preserves in the fridge or fruit waiting to be picked from the variety of trees on the property.
