About this property
Enjoy the Mountain Lifestyle at 3rd St Retreat
Take advantage of all that a true mountain town has to offer, whether you're coming to hike/run, bike, ski, boat, or sightsee. You will be close to everything when you stay at this cute centrally-located Victorian home. Only 3.5 blocks to Main Street where you can enjoy Leadville's restaurants/bars, art galleries, and stores. Miles of single track & the Mineral Belt can be reached from the front door. If you are coming for the Leadville Race Series, the house is in a great location for all of its events. This home is a perfect base camp for all your mountain adventures!
Built in 1882, it has a mix of new and old. The home comfortably sleeps 4 but can accommodate up to 6. Both bedrooms have queen beds with hybrid mattresses. There is a sleeper sofa that can accommodate 2 extra guests if needed and a pack-n-play for the wee-little ones. The en-suite bathroom is a full bath and the 2nd bathroom is a 3/4 bath. All linens, towels, and TP are provided for your comfort.
The living room has a Smart TV with Roku that you can log in to all of your favorite streaming apps (no cable available). An array of books, board games, and cards are stocked to keep you entertained if you choose to stay inside.
The open kitchen is fully equipped for all your cooking needs. A large island with 3 stools and a 6-person dining table allows for plenty of places to sit, eat, or work from the mountains.
What to do in Leadville? Mt. Elbert, Massive, and Sherman surround the town, allowing folks to hike three 14ers in no time. Ski Cooper (15 mins) and Copper Mountain (30 mins) are our local ski resorts. The Arkansas River provides some of the best fly fishing and rafting in the area. You can also drop your lines or boats at Turquoise Lake or Twin Lakes, both an easy drive from the house. There are miles of cross-country ski and snowshoe trails surrounding Leadville. You can also take a leisurely spin around the Mineral Belt Trail, by bike or ski, which can be picked up at the end of the street. There is also plenty of history, as seen in the National Mining Museum and Hall of Fame. You might just be surprised at all there is to do in our small town.
