The code given to access the rental was wrong. I attempted to contact the owner by phone and the VRBO chat. The owner did not respond. After a half hour waiting on hold the VRBO agent tried and could not get in touch with the owner. As a result I had to stay in a hotel.
I cannot review the interior of the rental because I could never get in the front door.
VRBO processed a refund for the rental because the owner was unresponsive. A week later VRBO has still not processed my refund because it’s with the “specialized team”.
Horrible customer service from the host and VRBO.

Disliked: Cleanliness, amenities, property conditions & facilities, communication
The outside light was burned out, the bedroom was especially dirty. The fan was covered with so much dust you could not use it. The smoke detectors battery compartments were open with batteries in them so they were not working. The bathroom attached to bedroom had no hot water, tepid at best. The bathroom sink needed 3 lightbulbs there was one. No trash can liners or toilet tissue ( I found a third of a roll). This property is old but it seems to me it should be maintained better. Fresh paint would help, hot water for the shower. The other bathroom had a damaged bathtub, did not use it. I would not recommend this listing to anybody.
Upon our arrival at Royal Retreat 3 we discovered that we had no internet and no TV signal. I tried to resolve the issue by contacting the host. I was told by her answering service that it was Saturday and that Miss Carol would not be available until Monday. My communications with the host, that followed, clearly show my despair in trying to resolve the issue and her avoidance of responsibility. We finally did get internet service on Monday, although I am not certain of the source. We never received a TV signal and spent the entire five days of our vacation without that service. For that inconvenience, we received an insulting fifty-dollar refund to our account. The apartment was a poor accommodation indeed. The air fresheners were all empty. The ceiling was peeling with large hanging drapes of paint. The cheap vinyl flooring was peeling and separating sufficiently to create a trip hazard. As nearly as I could tell, the smoke detectors were inoperable. The poor beds and insufferable nighttime noise combined to create a number of restless nights. Yes, the experience was awful.
The property was not clean. There was a toy beside the bed. There was a Valentines candy container in front of the coffee table. The toilet had fecal matter inside the toilet. Dust and pubic hair on the lid and behind it. The rug in front of the shower was dirty. There was a wet comforter in the washer left to smell. Also the floor planks had started to separate. Someone could trip or hurt themselves on those separations.
