About the property

Just completed July of 2015; a remodeled 3 bedroom home with modern décor in the heart of wine country. The house is located within walking distance of Buttonwood Winery where you can indulge in the tasting or enjoy live music as offered on various dates throughout the summer. In addition, there are 6 other wineries within 5 miles. For those of you that prefer beer, the Boathouse Beer Garden is just a 1/2 mile south.

The kitchen has granite counter tops and stainless steel appliances. It is well equipped with everything you will need including a Margarita machine. The house has been furnished with new furniture in every room including pillow top Serta mattresses for your sleeping comfort. All linens are included with rental with the exception of beach towels. The bathrooms have glass showers with jetted massage panels. The main floor living room has a fireplace and comfortable leather couch to enjoy on those cold nights. Just off from the living room is a three season room with a couch and a rocking chair where you can take in the view of the lake.

The Basement living room is set up for entertainment, it has chess/checker table, foosball table and large TV with DVD surround sound to enjoy movies or your favorite TV show. WIFI and cable are included.

The house has two decks one on each side of the house; one is covered with a comfortable patio set and the other side is open with a patio table and chairs. Next to the deck is a brand new stainless steel grill. For an evening under the stars there is a patio with a fire pit great for bonfires and smores. When in need of a nap or a peaceful place to read a book, there are two Mayan hammocks nestled between the trees.

Across the road down 50 stairs you will find 112 feet of private lakefront. A newly constructed sturdy dock great for fishing or relaxing with a glass of wine. Another Mayan hammock is waterside as well as a picnic table for your afternoon lunch or dinner. There are beach Adirondack chairs as well as lounge chairs for you to enjoy the lake front. The flat rocks that inhabit the stony shore will give the kids hours of enjoyment skipping stones. A two person Kayak is also available for those that want to explore the lake.

The house has a 1 acre lot so you can enjoy outdoor games and plenty of parking. There is enough parking to accommodate a boat trailer if you choose to bring a boat to launch at Dean's Cove (just one mile north).

About Gary or Kimberly Bell

We have lived just a few miles north of the rental on Cayuga Lake for the past 9 years. Living on the lake is like being on vacation every day, we wanted others to enjoy lake living/vacationing so we put our passion for re-construction to work and remodeled the lake rental. We love the area, the scenery, the wineries, and the numerous outdoor activities available.

What makes this house unique

We love this home in particular for the view and easy access to the lake. The yard provides plenty of space for yard games and yet the beach front is perfect for swimming, relaxing, kayaking, and picnicking. The best of all worlds.

5+ stars for the lake shore, yard and fire pits, 4.5 for the house

  • 4 of 5

Our group of 8 included 2 children (age 7 and 10), 2 parents and 2 sets of grandparents.Kitchen and appliances are top notch. Bathroom and showers well appointed. Beds very comfy and much needed a/c worked well. The yard was a great place for croquet (provided) and badminton. We used both firepits (beach and yard) for cookouts and ghost stories. The location is very convenient to a winery a beer garden and the Busy Bee complex which includes lakefront breakfast café and O'Malley's Bar. Good food at both. Our only wish was a bathroom on the level of the bedrooms as maneuvering stairs during the night was a like a stairmaster for the seniors. Packing up and being out by 10 am was a challenge. A little later checkout would have been nice. Overall a terrific week and many memories made. Highly recommend if stairclimbing in the night is ok with sleepers. Newly built lakehouse is fantastic. Beach area great for boating swimming and more games.

A wonderful lake side property and getaway

  • 4 of 5

The property was exactly how it looked in the photos and was described by the owners. Kitchen was well stocked with plates, pans, etc., all in good shape. Whole house / bathrooms were very clean and showers were exceptional. The kayak & paddle boat provided great entertainment. The Lake side dock, decks, and sitting room were extremely nice, with even more improvements under way. The fire pits looked great but we did not use them as the temperatures were very warm, or we were dealing with a couple days of rain. The local wineries, breweries, distilleries, creameries, and restaurants were all fun to visit. Taughahannock Falls Park, Ithaca, Auburn, Seneca Falls and Aurora provided great day trips and restaurants. Wolffy's restaurant in Seneca Falls was very family friendly. Our one issue was having our 3 YO grandchild with us; the slightly steep gravel driveway, rocky beach area and lack of a bathtub were not young child friendly. Overall, we would highly recommend this property for a Finger Lakes getaway or vacation.

We had an amazing time at this location. We loved the lakefront property and had fun with the boats and the fire pit. The house was the perfect size for our family and was the perfect location for visits to wineries and waterfall parks. We hope to be back!

My family and I did a week vacation at this cabin and we were all blown away at how beautiful and updated the cabin was. It had everything we needed! The pier and lake view was absolutely stunning. Gary was very easy to contact and more then accommodating. I would definitely recommend staying here. My whole family has already talked about renting this property again for another vacation!

Great week!

  • 4 of 5

The house was beautiful and well cared for. All bathrooms were downstairs but we managed. Would not recommend for elderly. Also many steps down to beach, but that was known when we booked. Parking is very ample if you have guests. The owners are always available for questions. All in all a very nice lake house.
