The property overlooks the Nuevo Portil golf course hole 9 and 10 with a private pool and garden. Main building with three bedrooms and two bathrooms plus annex over the Mediterranean courtyard with two bedrooms and bathroom (ideal for older children or grandparents)
Only 15 minutes walk from miles of unspoilt coastline. This Spanish resort is ideal for year round golf and beach holidays.
The Sunday Telegraph on the 24th February 2008 stated ' Huelva has some of the best beaches in Europe' and we agree.
Will rent out main house only that sleeps upto 6 outside peak holiday season, please enquire for rates.


Local area: Within 10 minutes walk of Villa Limonero is a selection of local shops a small supermarket/ bars/restaurants and miles of fantastic unspoilt BEACH. There are larger supermarkets in Punta Umbria and Cartaya(about 15 minutes by car), you will be sent our full local information after booking or please email and I will gladly forward to you by return.

Beach and activities: Nuevo Portil beach is very suitable for young children, as the Fleche del Rompido, protects the beach from the high winds and rough currents of the Atlantic ocean. The beach stretches for 14Km and is backed by juniper woods and sand dunes.
The vast woodland is very popular for activity tourism like rambling, cycling and horse riding. Bike hire and Horse riding are is available locally per hour, half day or all day.
On the road into Cartaya you will also find the Kartodromo de Cartaya (Carting track) open year round and the very popular Aquopolis (water park) which opens normally the middle of June until first week in September.

Places of interest : HUELVA : The most visited attraction in Huelva is Muelle de las Carabelas, a wharf where you can see replicas of the Pinta, Nina and Santa Maria and from which Columbus sailed to discover the Americas. A visit to the Monastery at La Rabida is very interesting this is where Columbus planned his journey.
DONANA: One of Spain’s loveliest national parks and one of the largest dune areas in Europe, it is a World Heritage Site.
SEVILLE: The capital of Andalucia and the seat of the Andalucian Parliament. The truly wonderful city, the Plaza de Toros, the Cathedral and the Giralda tower with amazing views of the city from the top, Royal palace, the Santa Cruz quarter with it’s narrow streets and small squares full of flowers and charm. are all worth a visit. SIERRA DE ARACENA: Villages of white houses set amidst woods of holm and cork oak- above all the best cured ham in Spain known as Jabugo.
EL ROCIO: Famous for the annual Rocio Pilgrimage is a strange outpost of the wild west

Lovely villa

Family Break

The property configuration worked well for accommodating three generations comprising 4 adults and 3 children. Five in the main house and two adults in the annex. The villa was clean and well equipped and although only the end of May the pool was well used by all generations. Our host was extremely helpful answering queries very efficiently and the information file at the villa contains a great deal of useful information about the area. The villa is in a peaceful and quiet location and at this time of year it we had no difficulty in finding a table at any of the restaurants in the local area.

Lovely well equipped villa

We stayed in the main house only. It was clean and had everything we needed for our stay. The outside pool area was great. It was a very good base for exploring the area and we would stay here again without hesitation.

Such a gem

This house has everything to make you feel at home in a paradise-like setting. Very clean and very comfortable (a special mention for the good mattress). The owners are very attentive and friendly. The pool is gorgeous (the pool shower even has warm water). It's such a pleasure to hang out in the patio or on the terrace. Can't wait to go back there.

Excellent villa

We had a fab family holiday (5 adults, 4 children) at Villa Limonera, it suited all our needs perfectly. The villa is clean, really well equipped and very spacious. We loved the pool, bbq and large outside eating area. The villa is well situated to explore this lovely area. Fabulous long, clean beaches, great wee towns - Cartaya, El Rompido nearby. Also easy to go into Huelva and Seville and well worth it. The kids enjoyed the Christopher Columbus museum with full size replica ships at La Rabida. We had great contact from Jill the owner who will answer all questions and received a lovely welcome from Pam and Gordon at villa. We would go back, fab villa and so much still to see and do. Highly recommend.

Fantastic location and really excellent property

The property was excellent, well equipped, safe and comfortable for a large family - 8 adults and 2 babies - with all the space to be together and privacy when needed. The location was excellent with forest at the front and golf course behind, situated in a small Spanish town. There are miles of beautiful safe beaches with lots of on beach cafes, forest trails, kayaking etc., with Cadiz, Jerez, Seville within a 2 hour drive away. We will go back and stay here again in the future as we loved it and there is still more to explore, including a trip over to Portugal as the boarder is so close!

Fantastic villa and fantastic customer service!

We spent a brilliant week at the villa. The villa had everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing stay, the owner has clearly thought about all the details to make our stay enjoyable. The pool and bbq/dining area was a real highlight, and our kids, 3 under 5 years old, absolutely loved it as did the adults! What really stood out for us was the customer service and genuine kindness from both Jill the owner and Pam who met us at the villa. They were both so friendly and accommodating, going above and beyond. We would strongly recommend this villa and would definitely come back again!

A large villa in a little known area of Spain

A large well equipped villa on a golf course close to beaches. The villa was well equipped and clean with plenty of hot water. The Pool and gardens were well kept and the outdoor furniture was plentiful. There are many large sandy beaches nearby and they are very clean as it is the Atlantic. There are a number of beach bars to eat in. The area is very popular with the Spanish which is reflected in the restaurants.

Absolutely fabulous

Just returned from a 10 day stay and cannot give enough praise for the Villa owner Jill the local agent Pam and our overall stay. Such a stunning villa in a perfect setting very well equipped and maintained the owner provided excellent local information on facilities and activities with great travel direction. An enjoyable and relaxing family holiday!!

We stayed at the Villa for 2 weeks and enjoyed every minute of the holiday. There were 10 of us but never felt as though we were under each other's feet. The annexe was perfect as it meant one family could use that while the rest of us were in the main house. 3 bathrooms and the extra toilet also meant no long waits for a shower. The Villa is very well placed and easy to get to. 10 to 15 minute walk to shops/restaurants and just a little further to the stunning beaches. We were not going to hire a car but did so in the end and glad that we did. Allowed us to travel to large supermarkets for the food. As the area is not a tourist resort this made shopping costs so much cheaper than normal. We played golf a few times and enjoyed the course. Great to stop at your back garden on the 9th to re-srock on refreshments. Between 11am and 5pm you hardly see any golfers go past. Pool was fantastic. Really hot when we went and provided a welcome escape from the heat. Gets the sun most of the day but nice at about 6pm when the shade starts creeping over. Only thing that was frustrating was the power cuts but, if you do what the rules tell you and turn off air-con units when not in rooms then this minmises these instances. Overall, a fantastic holiday and would definitely make a repeat trip.

Lovely villa in a peaceful spot

The house was really lovely, perfect for our needs and very well-equipped. We particularly loved the enclosed courtyard and ate all our meals at the house, there. It was over 40 degrees the first few days so we were very grateful for the air conditioning at night and the generous umbrellas and awnings. The beach is just lovely. It goes on for miles and it is so nice that it is not built up behind it.

Lovely villa.

We enjoyed a lovely holiday in this well appointed villa in early September. The accommodation is spacious and the annexe a good addition for family members who want a little space from the larger party. The pool and gardens were a lovely place for our two very small children, and the lockable courtyard area meant that they could go outside without adult supervision. The owner was very pleasant and accommodating and the manager very patient when we arrived rather later than we expected. The instructions for the drive from Saville airport were a little confusing and might need to be reviewed, although it was dark and less easy for us to find our way. The villa was clean, although a little more attention to drawers and cupboards would be appreciated, and it's closeness to shops and beach made it a very suitable place to stay with children. We definitely hope to be back in the future.

Good family residence

The property offers a large accommodation with a courtyard and annex , ideal for a large family or group ! The pool and grounds are spacious and private with an outlook onto a golf course which , whilst we were there , was not at all busy . The facilities are good and the location well placed to access the local restaurants and bars . We enjoyed our stay and felt it worth another visit in future .

The perfect frame for a golf tradition.

For 7th consecutive time we have used the 2nd week of November to finish our golf season under the sun of Andalusia. For 7th consecutive time we have use Villa Limonero as the base of our stay. It provides us with the perfect frame; it is spacious for 10 people, well equipped, fire place if cold, air-con if warm and now also Wi-Fi!! Needless to say that we are already planning the 8th time.....

Fantastic villa in a beautiful location.

The villa was superb, high quality decor and everything provided. Generously sized pool in shaded area. Great outdoor areas for relaxing and dining. Close to local restaurants and shops the local town has a very friendly atmosphere. Best beaches I have visited in Spain - 14 km of unspoilt golden sands. Would highly recommend it.

Summer 2015 - 2nd visit to Villa.

This was our second visit to the villa having been there a couple of years ago. As before a really smooth trip out, we flew into Seville and drove down. Excellent communication before we went and Pam was waiting for us at the Villa when we arrived to welcome us and go through the keys etc. We had an excellent break, the villa as before was excellent 8 of us for the first week so having the annex was very useful, the pool got a lot of use over the first few days as it was hot. We were in the sea about 10 out of the 14 days I'm sure there is a little micro climate there as it's Atlantic sea water but warm. We spent a lot of time just relaxing outside the villa as the outside furniture is very good standard , watching the golfers of various abilities coming down the fairway at the bottom of the garden. The BBQ got a lot of use, mainly for things we bought at the massive sea food / meat / veg market in Huelva. Also it is now very, very cheap to eat and drink in this area, it is mainly Spanish people who holiday there and coming from the UK we found the prices remarkable. You can widely get a small beer for 1 euro, and you can eat out in a variety of places for 10 Euro a head. Very relaxing, no dramas just what you need, would recommend and we will probably be back for a third visit at some stage. - 2 Couples plus 4 teenage and twenty something children from UK.

Wonderful Villa

We stayed in this villa as a group of friends during July. It is my second time at the villa and certainly will not be my last. It is perfect...plenty of space for everyone and very tastefully decorated. The pool area is superb and has the sun most of the day. The villa is perfectly located to explore a beautiful part of Unspoilt Spain, close the a lovely beach and easy access to waterparks and shopping. Close to El Rompido, a lovely little village with lots of restaurants and not far from the beautiful town of Ayamonte, lots of shopping, bars and restaurants with a true Spanish feel. A real gem of a holiday home....can't wait to return.

A wonderful Villa in a wonderful part of Spain

My wife and two young children had the pleasure of staying at this wonderful luxury villa and would strongly recommend a stay here. From the small gestures like the welcome food and drink pack we received on our arrival right through to the end of the holiday, the whole 2 weeks were amazing. The kids loved the pool and the surrounding area was really peaceful and idyllic. We are looking to book again soon. I would like to thank Jill personally for all the help she gave us with regards to the literature she supplied re the local are and what restaurants were suitable for us with young children. As the villa is only an hour from Seville it is the perfect location for the beach as well as the city which is stunning (and of course the golf)

Villa Limonero - Fantastic!!

We spent one week in Villa Limonero. It is a fantastic Villa with a marbelous garden with views to the golf court and relaxing swiming pool. The property was cleaned and with a full kitchen as in your own home. Spacious leaving room, air conditioned in all rooms and very well decorated. You have books at your disposal and DVDs even for kids. Jill, the owner, is very diligent and give you any information you may need about the house and the surrondings. We will repeat when possible.

Review Summer 2013

Just returned from an excellent two week holiday at this villa, there were 10 of us the first week with four older teenagers in the annex and 6 of us the second week. We really enjoyed the court yard dining with the big table allowing all 10 of us to enjoy the food from the BBQ in style. The outside furniture is of a high quality and the parasols and wind out shade means that the sun worshipers and those who like a bit of shade are both catered for, we also enjoyed the fact that part of the pool is in shade pm. We were very surprised by how reasonable prices were in the local bars, restaurants etc, a small beer was 1 euro, restaurants very reasonable, we played golf at Rompido for 46 euro each including buggy hire, even the supermarkets seem cheaper than the UK. We found the local people very friendly (even with my dodgey Spanish) and the sea water is noticeably warmer than on the Algarve. The agent met us as arranged and showed us round the property and communications from the owners was excellent. All in all stress free and highly recommended.

Private pool, beautiful villa, sandy beaches

The villa is spacious and very well appointed, the private pool is a lovely place to cool down in on those hot days - of which we had many! The villa is within walking distance of good local (reasonably priced) restaurants, local shops, the beach and friendly bars - the one on the seafront is great! The quiet location and the position of the villa, backing on to the golf course, makes it a very tranquil place to spend the day if travelling is not on the agenda. The short trip on the motorway to Seville is easy and Seville is a pleasure to visit - the cathedral and the walk up the tower is very worthwhile - the panoramic views over Seville from the top of the tower are spectacular. To summarise A GREAT PLACE TO SPEND SOME HOLIDAY TIME!

Wonderful

It has been a wonderful week. The house is fantastic and the surroundings are ideal to rest and have a peaceful time. The children loved the pool and being outside so much that we hardly thought about the beach. Even though the beach was so good... We definately want to go back.

Plenty of space, ideal for golf and beach

We, 10 Danish golfers in the early fifties, were planning for almost a year a week abroad to conclude our season with golf, golf, golf, good food and wine, and nice weather. We found this villa in the internet and it looked ideal for our purposes. We were really looking forward to our stay. We found the villa better than we expected!!!! The house is spacious, can easily accomodate 10 in nice sized bedrooms, has 3 bathrooms and a toilet and a big living room connected to the kitchen. It was clean and well maintained and it had all what we needed during our stay: TV to follow the football, air condition, garden furniture to enjoy the weather and a nice swimming pool.... There are plenty of golf courses in the area – 1 of then next door - our favourite was Bellavista. The weather was fantastic – sun and around 24 C. every day. The beach is very near and we even tried the sea - in November!! The restaurants – there is a very useful guide in the house describing them – provided very good food and wines to reasonable prices. We are already thinking to repeat next year.....

Why they chose this property

We purchased 2 townhouses on the Nuevo Portil Golf course in 2003 and soon realised that we wanted a forever home in the area, so chose the plot and build style to suit our family.
We hope one day to make it our home but currently we can only visit in school holidays!
