Why Laurie and Mark Kotorman chose South End
This property is a gem in the middle of the city. We purchased this property from a friend, and feel like we hit the jackpot! It is very hard to find great locations like this in Burlington-they never go on the market, people hang on to them. It is quiet, safe, and you can park your car and walk to everything. We live 15 minutes away in Shelburne, anticipating moving into Burlington in the future. In the meantime, we have great tenants/caretakers in the front apt. and many wonderful guests ( often repeat ) in our studio back apt.
What makes this Apartment unique
WE LOVE this location. Mark and Laurie personally renovated -with some help from contractors and friends ! This late 1800's home is rich in history and is in the Burlington Historical Registry. Originally a single family home, we converted it to a duplex in 2016. Careful attention to detail was important, with marble kitchen counters, heated kitchen and bathroom floors, hand crafted kitchen floor tiles and organic bed linens. The very high quality living room leather couch is very comfy, we spend many hours searching for something we would actually sleep on-NOTE: no cross bar!!! The covered porch is a great place to relax after a day out-take a nap, read a book, enjoy a glass of wine! We love this sweet apartment and know you will enjoy the surroundings, restaurants, boutique shopping on Church St, New multi million $$$ pedestrian mall in progress, Breweries, Whiskey room, Night Life, bike path, lake front all just a few steps away. We are happy to share this Burlington GEM with you!

Beautiful and Charming
Place is gorgeous and charming. Excellent location. Easy to walk to places.
The fold out couch has a firmer Mattress, which I preferred. There’s also another fold out in the sunroom, which would be fine to sleep in decent weather. There’s a large fenced backyard with chairs we took advantage of. If you’re super sensitive to it, there’s a faint smell of a smoker, maybe lived there a long time ago. I thought it was great overall. Wish to come back and stay longer!
Close to most place that we visited.
Very cozy home walking distance from town
Very nice stay with everything we could have asked for.
Thanks so much, we are so happy you enjoyed your stay with us!

Burlington is where you find everything VERMONT! Put on your walking shoes and park your car-most of this is within comfortable walking distance ( or a short car ride away )
For live performances try Flynn Center for Arts, or Vermont Comedy Club. Local movies at the Roxy Theater. Museums and Galleries check out: Robert Hull Fleming Museum, Shelburne Museum, Ethan Allen Homestead, ECHO Lake Aquarium and Science Center, BCA Center, Burton Snowboards Manufacturing Center. Great Burlington Restaurants are too many to list, but some of our favorites are: Upscale: For French try Bistro de Margot and Leunings ( bistro atmosphere ) Hen of the Woods, Trattoria Delia for Italian-a 2 minute walk-also Junction ( in Essex a short drive. Excellent food, a bit less formal: Farmhouse Tap and Grill, Single Pebble Asian, The Gryphon-new American. Honey Road, middle Eastern, Butch + Babes ( a short drive or a good walk ) Vegetarian option Revolution Kitchen. Seafood, Drinks and Lake Views, Shanty on the Shore. Vietnamese, our fav, Pho Hong-its a byob, always busy so take out might be a good option, a short drive, maybe mile and 1/2. Pizza & Brew, American Flatbread or Pizzeria Verita-a 2 minute walk!St. Paul St. Gastro Grub-very close by as well. Arts Riot, Pine St., could walk, but better to drive at night. Arts Riot has great food venues and music events, so check them out on line for current offerings. Breakfast anyone? Penny Cluse or Lucky Next Door, Swingin' Pinwheel Cafe. For Beer, don't miss FOAM on the Waterfront, or check out Pine St. for Citizens Cider and more beer/food options. Just because we didn't mention a restaurant, confidently dive in, it's hard to find a really bad one in Burlington! There are new cafe's springing up daily it seems, so it's hard to keep up. Explore, have fun, and let us know if you have specific things you would like recommendations for. City Market is a few blocks away, we walk there, but if you are buying a load, it's maybe a mile away.
