I live in London with my husband and our family. I work as an accountant in our family business of installing windows and conservatories. We have been enjoying Lanzarote since 1993, when we holidayed at the Hotel San Antonio every Easter with our three sons. In 2004 we bought Casa Fina. We liked it straight away because it’s not a modern property on an estate. It wasn't intended but Casa Fina has become our second home, and we’re not complaining. We stay at the villa for about 3 months of the year, both on our own and with family and friends. We cycle most mornings along the cycle path and promenade, past the airport and on to Arreciffe – a 20 mile round trip. Ocean all the way. Exhilarating!
All our 3 sons visit every year with their families for a holiday. They are all tri-athletes and also fit in plenty of training (our cycling is much more modest) on their visits.
Because we stay at Casa Fina for long periods, we keep the villa maintained to a high standard that we would expect if we were renting.

We chose Lanzarote for year round weather and it hasn't disappointed. We liked the area because there is so much to do – and only a short walk away to the beach. The villa is a traditional property and benefits from larger room sizes, a bigger pool and some Spanish character.
When we’re away, peace and quiet is essential – and this location does not disappoint. It’s a place that caters for families of all ages with something for everyone, yet peaceful. Puerto del Carmen has improved so much over the years. The promenades are wider, there are fewer cars, making it much more pedestrian and cycle friendly. It now has a slower, more relaxed feel about it – we love it and we think you will too.

In the Canary Islands, Lanzarote has a unique feel about it. It has mainly low rise properties, all painted white, and development has been limited to prevent the island being over developed. Advertising hoardings are not allowed on the island. There are no traffic jams, traffic lights only exist in the capital, Arreciffe – it’s like driving in the UK 40 years ago!
As soon as we arrive, we’re relaxed. The first thing we do after arriving is to read our visitor book. Many returning guests, but all find time to write lovely comments. Interesting, funny, complimentary, and all going home very happy. That makes us happy too. During the last few years we have started travelling around the island. It’s a fascinating place, unlike anywhere else. In the afternoon, we head home to the pool for some serious relaxation.
We love cycling, and the whole island, especially Pto del Carmen has become very cycle friendly.
The evening is mainly about walking down to the harbour. It’s vibrant with the locals playing petanka and home to a few of our favourite restaurants. Excellent fish.
