Excellent - everything perfect
Sarah was absolutely fantastic and I would recommend this property to anyone thinking of visiting Madeira. It is perfectly placed for visiting Funchal central 15 min walk), or alternatively the Hotel district, where there are lots of lovely restaurants. Also a short taxi ride to Doco Do Cavacas, where we had swim in rock pools and had a lovely day. Also Worth walking up past the cable cars and there are lots of little side streets and Squares to spen a lovely evening enjoying. We've just come back from a 5 day break in Funchal and we stayed in Sarah's lovely apartment. It's beautifully decorated and was spotlessly clean. There are 4 stunning bedrooms and 2 lovely bathrooms and there is everything you need. The kitchen is so well equipped you would be able to cook a big dinner for many people! There are many balconies although if you wanted to sunbathe you might struggle as the sun doesn't reach them all with the tall buildings around. I would definitely stay in Sarah's apartment if we went back to Funchal again. We used the taxi driver Sarah recommended and he was lovely, showing us a couple of towns on our way to the airport. He was £30 euros each way. The only negative is there is a barking dog which can be a little irritating but it didn't disturb our sleep so didn't bother us too much. Funchal is quite expensive, so eating at some of the little side streets works out to be much cheaper. It's also very hilly so your calf muscles will be put to the test! If you're thinking of staying in Funchal, this apartment won't let you down! Thankyou Sarah for your excellent communication and gorgeous apartment.

This was a wonderful stay. We loved the apartment and Sarah was very helpful. The location is perfect for Funchal - literally, it is ideal location.
ONE THING TO CONSIDER - the place does not have AC. That was zero problem in June for us. However, it can get warm in Madeira, so keep that in mind if you book during July and August. But if that is not an issue for you or if you are traveling during moderate temperature months, I highly recommend this place.
Great location not far from the centre, even with the hill on the way back home that people mention, no need for taxi's unless you have a serious mobility issue, but Madeira is hilly. The apartment was fantastic, clean and everything you would need, the internet access does disappear in certain rooms though due to size of apartment and walls. The location is also easy access to what is known as the Hotel area where there are other Bars and restaurants, so you can go to town one night and the hotel area the next night without needing a taxi. Sitting out on the balcony in a morning and evening was pleasant even with the new building work going off for the new hotel opposite. In all we had a great time and could not have found a better place to stay. The pickup and drop off offered by Sarah also worked like a charm.
Spacious and comfortable
The apartment is incredibly spacious. Even with 4 of us there was room for qiet space. The layout is a little strange as the largest balcony for afternoon relaxing is off one of the bedrooms. Our only complaint is there’s nowhere to sunbathe.

stayed in January apartment is a short walk from the harbour & the centre of funchal 10 to 15 mins
for all the shops & restaurants but is in a very quiet location for a city
beds are very comfortable (best we have had in funchal for 15 years)
& there is a small supermarket at the end of the road you can see it from the balcony
they have a good selection of all essentials & fresh bread every day
back balconies get sun in the morning & front in the afternoon
we will certainly be returning to this apartment
The apartment is no more than 150 metres from the coast, next to the old port which is situated beside Funchal's Marina. There are two beaches close to the apartment, one to the East of Funchal near the Old Town (10 to 15 minutes walk) and the other to the west of Funchal past the Hotel District (under 10 minutes driving). Alternatively, you may visit the famous Lido which allows access to the sea for swimming in addition to the sea water pools (10 minutes walk).
Madeira Airport is about 25 minutes drive from the apartment.
Bus - Service runs every 15 minutes, drops passengers off outside the Casino Park Hotel. The bus service costs 5 euros each, to be paid on boarding (free for passengers using TAP airline).
Alternatively, we can arrange to have a local taxi driver and friend Joao meet you at arrivals and bring you directly to the apartment doorstep for 25 euros and 25 euros for the return. Let us know in advance if this service is required.
The apartment is in Funchal's hotel district (West Funchal). The city center is no greater than 5 minutes by walk. The historical 'Sé Cathedral' built in 1438, under 10 minutes walk. Fishing village of Camara De Lobos 5 km. The town of Monte (home of the famous toboggan ride) is under 15 minutes drive or shorter by cable car. The famous Botanical Gardens at Quinta do Bom Sucesso is 3 km from the apartment. The old town traditional market 'Mercado dos Lavradores' is 10 minutes walk.
Other activities on the island include: Levada walks. Island tours. Big game fishing. Scuba diving and snorkeling. Sailing. Surfing. Paragliding. Cycling. Rock / mountain climbing. Horse riding, tennis and golf. Island cruises. Madeira wine tasting. Theatre. The botanical gardens and numerous other flower gardens. Santa Cruz aqua park. Helicopter and hot air balloon sightseeing slights. Whale and dolphin spotting trips. Famous monte toboggan rides and cable cars. Trips to Porto Santo.

Booking Notes: Minimum booking of 1 week (if less required; contact us). Bookings for 2 to 8 guests are welcome. A deposit of 25% of full the total booking is required at reservation. The remaining balance to be paid in full 60 days prior to arrival. An additional £150 must be paid in advance for any damages. This is fully refunded if there are no damages. All payments by Bank Transfer. Please contact us for further details. Changeover Day: In the event of a changeover day we would normally expect 12 pm Checkout time for guests leaving and 3pm to 4pm Check-in for new guests arriving. These times are, however, flexible, according to circumstances. Notes on prices: Prices are for the property per week in UK pounds for two people. Extra persons are charged at £100.00 per person per week. Last minute and long term rentals are welcome. Please contact us for special prices on long term rentals. Booking Conditions: • A deposit of 30% of the total cost is required to confirm your booking. This deposit is non-refundable & constitutes acceptance of the booking conditions. • All bookings will be placed on a first come first served basis and can only be confirmed upon receiving the booking deposit of 30%. • All outstanding balance due, must be paid in full no later than 8 weeks prior to the start of the holiday. • An additional security deposit £150.00 shall be required as a breakages deposit.
