Our stay was great. The views from the apartment are awesome. Watching the sunset from the balcony is amazing. Filomena was very helpful and a great host. Everything was as expected and a lot more.

Spectacular views!

This is a fantastic property. The views are incredible and it is very private. We stayed for 2 weeks and were very comfortable. Filomena was fantastic - very welcoming and responsive. Highly recommend.

Incredible ever changing 24 hour views of Funchal and the ocean from the spacious apartment and sundeck. Filomena was so pleasant, cheerful and helpful with our many requests for assistance and guidance.

Great apartment, host and views

This is a lovely apartment with incredible views. It is well stocked if you want to cook for yourselves. The beds are comfortable and it has a great bathroom. Parking is no problem and Funchel city centre is less than 10 minutes away by car. Filomena was an excellent host and responded quickly to our enquires.

This was a fabulous villa with an incredibly nice and welcoming hostess. Filomena was a great hostess. She arranged for our transportation to the villa from the airport and met us there the first night to greet us and gave us lots of helpful tips to make our stay better. It has a beautiful view and is in a quiet location. Highly recommended!

Best Holiday Home Rental in Madeira

My friend and I thoroughly loved our stay in Filomena's apartment. It was clean and comfortable, we had everything we needed for a cosy stay. Most things turned out better than in the pictures, particularly the spectacular view of Funchal! (You can also see Ronaldo's house if you know where to look) We'll be back in Madeira again and will return to stay at Filomena's perfect apartment!

What an incredible experience. Madeira is such a beautiful place with a lot to see. I was glad that I had a car. Downtown Funchal was easy to get to and the place was so comfortable and clean. Our hostess was wonderful and exceeded our expectations. Views of the bay were awesome.

the view is stunning, The drive up the hairpins was a thrill. A short drive or Bolt into Funchal. Central to the all the sites. Not far from the airport. Filomena is very pleasant and accommodating host. We very much enjoyed our stay, the Toboggan, Pico arreeira at sunrise. A meal at Williams and the 90degree fro sunset. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit

Floating over Funchal

We very much enjoyed one week at Ornela's house. Ornela is wonderful host. Her house is very comfortable. It offers all we needed. The bright living and bed rooms are connected by a balcony that gives this wonderful unobstructed view over Funchal and the harbor.The location on the hillside outside Funchal turned out to be an excellent starting point for our activities. Funchal, Sao Lorenco, Pico Areeiro or the towns in the north are easy to reach by car. Even a trip to the west is convenient with ER101 close to the house.

Amazing views

The apartment is located in an upscale area overlooking Funchal. The grounds seem like a botanical garden with walking paths and sitting areas. We did not have a car and there are no restaurants within walking distance. However the bus stop is just around the corner and it was fun to go into Funchal, spend the day, then return to the beautiful setting. We loved our stay and would book again.

Great apartment with stunning view

The apartment is simply perfect. The view is stunning, the garden is beautiful and the apartment has everything you need to make you feel home. It even had an outside grill, which is not shown on any of the photos. The hostess is THE BEST. Super helpful and there when you need her.

High up in Funchal with great views

Although it was a distance from the city centre, the apartment's huge panoramic windows and balcony provided amazing views. It was a nice break from the busy city. We were very high up and a few times in the clouds. We did well taking city buses for a short ride down to the city just about every day. The apartment had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Our host Filomena was very helpful, warm and friendly. A great way to experience Funchal!

Simply fantastic

This is an amazing place! Stunning views from the huge balcony, but also from the living room and the two bedrooms (you don't even have to get out of bed!). Carefully tended terraced garden with so many plants to discover and nice places to sit down and enjoy. Also the apartment interior very beautiful, bright colours, nice details like for instance a vase of strelitzia on the table or a wooden old box with games. You will even find good binoculars. Filomena is a wonderful host - always there when you need her, very friendly and committed, you could not feel more welcome. Thanks so much for this extraordinary stay! We will for sure return some day (hopefully soon)!

We would make the same choice again

Fantastic views of the ocean, the city and the hills above no matter whether you're inside or outside. Very well equipped kitchen. Nice welcome from Filomena who was there to show us around and makke us feel at home. We stayed there the first week of March and it was sometimes quite chilli in the apartment which has no heating. Instead there is a small transportable radiator but of course you can only have that in one room at a time. In spite of this we loved staying there and we'll want to stay there again if or when we go to back to Madeira.

Nice apartment with great views

Spacious apartment with 2 good size bedrooms and spacious kitchen/ diner. Well equipped kitchen and lovely terraced garden. The apartment is the middle of 3 apartments of a large house, it's located in quiet residential area about 5 km from Funchal in the hills. Great views of Funchal and harbour from the balcony which is west facing so you don't get the sun til later in the day. There is also a pleasant BBQ area to relax in. There is a bit of road noise from the motor way. I would recommend a car - there's easy on street parking there are also buses into Funchal a short walk away. Filomena was very helpful and communicative, there's lots of books leaflets etc on walks and visits. We really enjoyed our stay - thank you Filomena !

Do not miss out!

Wow! This place was the highlight of our two-month stay in Portugal. The pictures do not do it justice! Amazing views of the city of Funchal from the hills of São Gonçalo, yet only a short drive into downtown (accessible by bus, but car is recommended). The property grounds have a wonderful garden. The apartment is fully stocked with everything you might need. Fantastic water pressure in the shower. Filomena was an incredible host who went above and beyond to make sure that we were welcome and comfortable. We arrived with an injured knee and she made sure that we were well taken care of and knew how to access the hospital system. 10/10 for us and would stay here again in a heartbeat. We are already missing the amazing sunsets visible from every room!

AMAZING Sunset View of Funchal and the Island

The views and the breeze from the apartment were stellar. The apartment itself is a little funky but we had everything we needed. We LOVED the full-on views from the living room and bedrooms and the gardens all around . We very much appreciated the washer and dryer! Sadly, we couldn't sleep with the patio doors open for the fresh air because way down below is a highway with motorcycles racing in the middle of the night and my husband is sensitive to noise when sleeping. Filomena sometimes took a bit to respond but she was helpful and I really appreciated that she made a haircut appointment for me with a good stylist during our stay which was badly needed. The apartment is up multiple steep hills so it is not a walkable area but we found a few good restaurants close by that we drove to and of course ate in Funchal and other places around the island. The driving on Madiera is a challenge! The GPS kept lagging at crucial moments, but we learned to allow at least double the time on the GPS and did a lot of u-turns or round-about turns -all part of the experience of being on such a gorgeous mountain. We enjoyed out stay here very much.

Das Top-Highlight der Unterkunft ist auf jeden Fall der Ausblick. Es ist so schön beim Frühstück zu sitzen und einfach den Blick auf Funchal zu genießen. Die Wohnung ist gut eingerichtet und es ist alles da, was man braucht. Sie ist auch für drei Erwachsene gut ausgestattet. Uns hat auch der Tisch im Garten sehr gut gefallen. Für unser Empfinden war eines der Betten im Zweibettzimmer etwas zu hart, aber es gab genügend Decken, die man noch unterlegen konnte. Auch Filomena, die sich um das Haus kümmert, war sehr nett und hat uns alles gut erklärt. Wir empfehlen die Wohnung in jedem Fall weiter.

Eine bessere Aussicht auf die Bucht von Funchal kann es nicht geben. V.a. abends, wenn die Lichter in der Stadt angehen ist es ein wundervoller Anblick. Dazu ein Glas Madeira-Wein, einfach herrlich!Die Wohnung ist sauber, gemütlich und gut ausgestattet. Für mein vollkommenes Glück wären Mückennetze an den Schlafzimmertüren super gewesen. Die Wohnung ist ein sehr guter Ausgangspunkt für Wanderungen. In 7 Minuten erreicht man eine Bäckerei, einen Obst-und Gemüseladen und einen kleinen Supermarkt. Ebenso in 7 Minuten einen großen Continente-Supermarkt. In 30 Minuten ist man am Ariero.Wirklich hervorragend haben wir gegessen im Abrigo dos Cavalos, als Empfehlung für zukünftige Mieter.Filomena ist sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen!
