David and Glenys-We live in Dorset and have two grown up daughters; Lucy lives in Bristol with her boyfriend Lee and Clare owns her own home nearby. We love the Algarve and particularly the Olhao area. We still both work full-time and as you get older it is nice to know that you can when you like and get away from the cold English winter weather. We think of it as an investment for us and for our family.

We saw the site for the development in April 2008 and fell in love with the area and decided to buy. What we liked about it was that it was close to the town, the marina and an exciting boat ride out to the beautiful islands. Glenys: "I saw the area from an airplane the first time we went on holiday to the Algarve and fell in love with it's natural beauty."

Four of us enjoyed a 9 night stay in October. The apartment is well situated, immaculate, tastefully furnished, well equipped and enjoys excellent views. The balcony was used by us to enjoy a sundowner of an evening
The meet and greet was very efficient by a nice lady called Maria who we had met on previous holidays. Easy access to two supermarkets just 10 minute walk away there is a great farmers market on a Saturday to stock up on fresh vegetables and fruit. Superb restaurants a 10 minute walk away and actually there’s three just two blocks along. There is a shared pool on the rooftop which we didn’t use. Would we book again for this apartment? ABSOLUTELY!
We had a fabulous 2 weeks. The property was to a high standard, clean and very well equipped. We enjoyed the home from home experience especially as we have a young family. Will definitely be returning.

Couldn't have asked for anything more
A short taxi ride to the apartment from the airport, and we instantly felt at home. We chose not to hire a car, and that proved to be the perfect choice for us, with Olhão town only a 4 minute walk from the apartment. A beautiful, modern and spacious abode. The kitchen and bathrooms were not only clean and fitted with excellent 'mod' cons', but appeared to have just been installed, as did the rest of the apartment. The large front room featuring a large dining table and very comfy sofas, opens onto an equally large balcony perfect for watching the sun go down, meals and resting before heading out into town for the night.
The beds in each of the three rooms were very comfortable, and there was more than enough storage space. The black-out shutters (apartment wide) ensured a great nights' sleep too, operated by a simple switch.
The easy lift up to the roof gave access to the huge space filled with sun loungers and of course, the pool. Not a huge pool, but perfect for cooling off in and having fun. It was never busy when we were there, and it is empty as certain times.
Cooking, cleaning and washing clothes was so easy. And to top it all off, possibly the most secure apartment we have rented.
The wifi doesn't quite reach to the furthest room, but why need that? 20 odd MB is fast enough for most needs, and the TV with UK channels is great if you have had too much sun!
Definitely recommend this apartment, and we are hopeful to rent this place again.
If you choose to rent this apartment we can arrange a taxi from the airport – which makes a good start to your holiday. We have all amenities close by which is makes walking to very easy-plus it is all flat. If you did want to venture outside of the area you can easily walk to the train station for a trip to Faro, or beyond, or catch an Eva bus. The apartment is a few years old but with our excellent manager, and her team of cleaners, they keep the apartment spotless. We have a large apartment with plenty of space for a family plus we have a large corner balcony with a large table and 6 chairs; which is an ideal place to have breakfast whilst deciding on the plans for the day. The 3 bedrooms are well equipped and feature large wardrobes and black-out shutters for a well-deserved sleep. The pool area is large with plenty of sun-loungers and the pool itself is ideal for children. It is always good to hear from repeat clients and look forward to hearing from them again soon!
Spacious beautiful apartment
The apartment was clean comfortable & well equipped. Easy to walk to restaurants & markets. Maria was wonderful & when a fuse went she arrived with her husband within 15 minutes to fix things. We would recommend staying here.
We are very lucky that the apartment is well situated and that the local amenities, supermarkets, restaurants etc., are within a few minutes walk. We also try to make sure that the apartment is stocked with may items to make your stay enjoyable. We do have a wonderful manager Maria who looks after our apartment. She and her team make sure that the cleanliness of the apartment is kept to the highest of standards. It is good to know that Maria, who speaks fluent English, was able to come so quickly to sort out the fuse problem; she lives locally with her husband and he can help out when necessary which is a bonus.

You won’t be disappointed with this beautiful property, as a family of six we have just returned from staying at this great apartment, the photos don’t do it justice, the views from the balcony are amazing. The apartment has everything you could need, stylish but comfortable and the standard of cleanliness is second to none, the roof top pool was very clean and we often found that we had this area all to ourselves. The location is great as it is only a 5 minute walk before you start to reach all the restaurants so it’s close enough but not too close! We took the ferries over to Armona and Farol, Farol was our favourite the waters are so clear and the views are breathtaking, I don’t usually visit the same place twice but I would recommend this apartment and will probably take another trip!!!
I am so glad that Fiona and family had a lovely stay. Our apartment is very spacious – with plenty of room for a family of six. We are lucky to have a large corner balcony which gives far reaching views across the salt pans, where if you are lucky you can view flamingos, plus you also have views to some of the islands. There is also a great roof-top pool for all of the family to enjoy. We try to keep the apartment stocked for a family holiday with lots of those little extras which make all of the difference. We are also lucky that we have a very good and reliable manager with a great team of cleaners to keep the apartment looking clean and well presented. If you are looking for a well-appointed apartment then this could be it – only a few minutes walk to the supermarkets one way and a few minutes walk to the restaurants etc., the other. We are also on the end of the block and far enough away from the road to not be bothered by road noise. It is always be a pleasure to have repeat bookings and we look forward to hearing from Fiona again soon.
Olhao boasts some of the Algarve's most beautiful beaches just a short boat trip away. In high season the hotel catamaran service runs to the islands from opposite the hotel. Plus regular ferry crossings run from Olhao’s jetty-just 10 minute's walk from the apartments-to islands Culatra and Armona. The ’ilhas’ have a selection of restaurants, bars and coffee shops. Olhao is a part of the Reserva Natural da Ria Formosa, an environmental and conservation area for birds and marine life.
Being only 15km from Faro Airport (around €25 in a taxi), car hire is not essential as everything is within easy walking distance. The closest supermarket is only a 10 minute walk away. If you are golfing, or would like to further explore the Algarve or even Spain, car hire is a must. The train station is within 15 minutes’ walk giving access to services both east to Villa Real de St Antonio and west to Lagos. We would also recommend you try the 'EVA' bus which is reliable, clean and quick.
Village Marina is approximately 15km from Faro, 5km from Fuseta, 20km from Tavira/Cabanas and approx. 30/40km to the more traditional resorts of the Western Algarve. Also worth visiting are neighbouring Fuseta, Tavira and Tavira Island, Cabanas to the east and Faro, Vilamoura, Portimao, Lagos and Cape St Vincent to the far west. The Spanish border is no more than 60km away to the east as you cross over the Rio Guadiana giving you a chance to travel to Seville in around 2½ hours.
The apartment is about a 10 minute walk to the nearest supermarket plus the veg and fish market is a five minute stroll; plus you can reach the town of Olhao, with its eclectic shops, cafes and bars in just a few minutes on foot.
The famous red brick, covered, fish and fruit and veg markets are definitely worth a visit (early morning is a must to get the best produce) and are only a 5 minute walk as are the amazing array of traditional bars and restaurants on the waterfront and in the Old Town. Continuing for another few minutes along the waterfront will take you to the ferry terminal where the taxi boats leave for the islands.
The local islands are a must to visit: Ilha da Culatra is surrounded by beautifully clear water, with many species of fish, so it is perfect for diving and snorkelling. Ilha do Farol is not a separate island, but the area at the western end of Culatra where the lighthouse is ('Farol' meaning 'lighthouse' in Portuguese) and again offers visitors a large expanse of sand and warm water.
This area is of immense interest to lovers of the natural world and bird watchers with its vast and diverse species of flora and fauna and natural features of the Ria Formosa Natural Park.
There are many boat trips and eco tours of the Ria Formosa available from the various jetties along the waterfront. Armona is the busier of the islands; it has beaches and a few restaurants/bars. Around Farol the sea comes right up against the rocks creating a natural swimming pool at high tide (the average water temperature in summer is 24 degrees).

Included in your holiday is £25.00 worth of electricity per week (£50.00 High Season), is exceeded in 7 days. A larger deposit may be requested for stays of more than 2 weeks, to cover excessive usage. Changeover Day: Our changeover day is flexible-however please check-into the property after 3pm on the day of arrival, and vacate by 10am on the day of your departure. If you have any specific requests we will do our best to accommodate you, dependent on other bookings. Notes on prices: Cots and high chairs can be hired for £25.00/£15.00 per week. Some apartment hot water is fed from energy from the communal solar panels.
