We are an interior decorator and building artisan. We are French and come from Lot and Midi-Pyrénées. We have renovated houses for French, British, American, and Canadian costumers in the departments of Lot and Dordogne. During a stay in Algarve, we have felt in love with Olhão, We have been seduced and have felt certain feeling of fullness. During a walk, we felt in love with this typical fisherman's house in Olhão. We have decided to buy it and discover the exceptional view from the terrace, the panoramic view over the rooftops of Olhão, the lake, and the islands of Ria Formosa. It is wonderful! We love the vintage charm of this city, walking on the pedestrian alleyways, the eyes looking at immaculate-blue sky. Each time we come back, the charm starts operating again. We believe that we have never left this heaven of peace. In the harbour, Olhão is hectic, lively, and bustling. We visit the market where one can find fresh fish as well as local products: citrus, almonds, mangoes, figs, honey fruits, and several vegetables. The South feels good! Olhão is called a Cubist city because of its Moorish architecture that has survived across the decades without losing its soul. It is unique in Algarve. It is authentic. We are passionate about architecture and very sensitive about the built heritage we visit. In Olhão, we can do everywhere on foot or by bike. The car remains parked on the street! We love to go from Ecovia to Fuseta (10 km away), sit in front of a grilled fish, and return before high tide. The walk is enjoyable... It is never cold. Weather is good in any season. In February, temperature reached 25° to have meal on a terrace of one of the many restaurants in the harbour, with affordable prices. It is nice to live there!

You will fall in love with Olhão. In the labyrinth of these alleyways, we have instantly felt an immense well-being. A feeling of fullness invaded us. The preserved environment of the lake of Ria Formosa provide certain healing feeling. We felt very much at home. Portuguese people care about others. They are smiling and convivial people. Their smiles touched our heart. This part of Algarve, located in the gulf of Cadiz, offers a climate influenced by the Mediterranean Sea, mild and sunny all year round. Olhão, due to its fishing economy activity, is a lively city that mainly belong to Portuguese people. We live with them, not next to them. Many have left for work reasons and have come back to live in the country. They speak French or English. It is a population open to the rest of the world. They feel proud and happy about receiving people from other parts of Europe. Portugal is a beautiful country with a rich historical heritage. We want to spend more time in Olhão when we ceased our occupational activities.

This house is ideally located 2 min away on foot from the harbour and its market with fish available every morning. Olhão is one of the most important fishing harbours in Portugal. You can buy your fish at the market in the morning and grill it using the plancha on the terrace! This is the place of the house where we spend more of the time. It is very pleasant, flooded with sun light at any time of the day. In the morning breakfast, the terrace is caressed by the first rays of the sun. At the happy hour, drinking a fresh glass of white wine, grilled almonds, is a pure delight! At lunch, you will be sheltered by the pergola. During dinner, you will feel a refreshing sea breeze. The restaurants and bars are very close. There, you will find fish as well as traditional Portuguese dishes such as the Cataplana, a kind of Portuguese Paella, or Fejouada, a bean stew with meat or fish. From Olhão, you can easily visit all of Algarve, the sea front and inland areas. 2 min away you can take a water taxi leading to the islands of Culatra, Farol, and Armona, where you will find sublime beaches, almost deserted.
