About Bonnie S. Emerson
My husband and I grew up in Oxford and never wanted to live anywhere else. Our families and our memories were created here and this is where we chose to raise our family. This location has given us the opportunity to enjoy so much that is around us and yet has allowed us to remain in a small town, peaceful atmosphere! This is the first home that we bought and it was an apartment at the time so the rent check paid the mortgage! We have raised 4 children in this home. They are all married. One daughter lives across the driveway with her husband and three children. Our son lives across the river-- about 3 minutes away, with his wife and two children. Another daughter lives in the country about 10 minutes away with her husband and four children. Our third daughter lives an hour away with her husband and dog! Pretty much every Sunday, they all come here, sit around the "big" table and have a meal together! The children enjoy the basement area and the back yard/woods area. We have a home on Guilford Lake-10 minutes away- and want the house to be used while we are at the lake! We or some member of our family will be available to help you with anything that you might want or need.

A beautiful classic in a lovely green valley. Our stay was perfect in every way.
We visited Oxford for a family wedding in September, the house was perfectly prepared for our late night arrival. The rooms are large and comfortable and the classical style is perfectly appropriate for the location. We had precious little time but we were able to explore state parks and museums nearly in our spare time.
Oxford is so cute, like a New York version of Stars Hollow says our “Gilmore Girls” fans.
I appreciate your evaluation and am very happy that you had a positive experience in our home and in our beautiful area!
Lovely, quiet stay in a beautiful Victorian home
This is a spacious, comfortable, well-equipped house, in a beautiful neighborhood within close walking distance of downtown Oxford. We stayed for three nights and had a wonderful time. Bonnie is very friendly, gracious, and easy to reach. We felt extremely well cared for. Highly recommended!
Thank you very much for booking with me! It was my pleasure meeting you and I would welcome you back anytime!
Our stay was wonderful, comfort all around us. Was nice to come "home" after a long day in Cooperstown. The house was like staying in a museum with treasures all around. Books, books, and more books. For three teachers and a nurse it was like a history book came alive. Bonnie was so nice and checked in with us almost daily. The town of Oxford is gorgeous looks like a movie set not a real town, people are all so nice. We never heard a siren. Great little restaurants. If given the opportunity to need a place to stay in that area we would definitely stay there again.
Thank you for choosing my home as your base to visit Cooperstown! It was a pleasure to meet you and you were wonderfully, respectful guests! I'm happy that you had an opportunity to experience our community! I would definitely welcome you back!
Great house, great owner
This is a truly special and beautiful house, very comfortable and well-set up for visitors. It is very close to quaint, enjoyable downtown Oxford and its lovely restaurants and amazing farmers market. Bonnie is the best - she was very friendly and helpful, so flexible when I had travel issues. The house is huge and full of lovely furniture and artwork, Bonnie has things set up so well - with extra pillows, blankets, a great, full kitchen, lots of indoor living room space and multiple, relaxing outdoor space. It has a huge hot tub! I so enjoyed talking with Bonnie and learning about the area, she is a terrific ambassador to Oxford and the larger region with lots of great recommendations for things to do. Oxford is centrally located for so many great upstate New York adventures to Cooperstown, the Catskills, the Finger Lakes, wine country. I can't recommend this lovely, comfortable home and the owner enough - I plan to return next year for a longer stay.
I appreciate your thoughtful review! It was my pleasure meeting and getting to know you and will welcome you back anytime!
A wonderful, spacious charmer!
As other reviewers have noted, this home is even prettier and more well maintained than the pictures can show! We stayed for a long weekend for a family reunion and college visit. Bonnie, the owner, met us at the house to show us around -- and she is lovely and a wealth of knowledge about the area. The house was well stocked with everything we needed. The beds were very comfortable and the ACs in each bedroom were greatly appreciated as the temps were in the 90s during our stay. We would gladly stay in this home again and highly recommend it.
Thanks for your review! I enjoyed meeting you and having you as guests. I would certainly welcome you back!
This home is lovely and well maintained with everything you might need in a home away from home.
We were greeted with an honest welcome and given a tour of the home, with a few anecdotes of it's previous occupancy. We were provided with a book with all the information necessary to make our stay fantastic. The Victorian decor was wonderful and had us seeing something new every time we walked through. A very warm and friendly experience.
