La maison est située sur les collines en face des Apuanes / Apennins, dans la Lunigiana, dans la pointe nord de la Toscane. On y accède par une route privée et la propriété est situé dans 3 hectares de terrain offrant une intimité totale. La terre au-delà est principalement boisé. La maison a été construite il y a 10 ans en utilisant des méthodes traditionnelles. Les toits sont construits en utilisant des poutres de châtaignier. Les planchers sont en bas pierre et sont en chêne massif à l'étage. Toutes les portes, volets et escaliers sont faits main. La piscine fait 15m x 6m. Le sommet automatique peut être fermé le soir pour conserver la nuit de température de l'eau. La profondeur est c. 1,10 m dans la partie peu profonde et c. 2m dans la partie profonde avec un plongeoir. En plus de la zone de terrasses entourant la piscine, il ya au total plus de 200 sq. M autour de la maison, idéal pour se détendre et manger. La maison dispose d'une connexion rapide à Internet haut débit via un câble fixe ou sans fil. Il y a Sky italienne y compris le sport et la possibilité de changer la langue sur un pas. des programmes.
Le tennis de table table et baby-foot assurer qu'il ya quelque chose à faire entre détente et de détente!
Jours peuvent être dépensés sur la marche, dans les montagnes, visiter festas ou des voyages à la côte, y compris Lerici, Forte dei Marmi et Viareggio. Pour des excursions vers les Cinque Terre, nous recommandons le train de Villafranca qui va direct. Un fantastique voyage de jour est le 9. 14 a. m. diriger vers Monterosso, une promenade autour de la ville, déjeuner dans l'un des nombreux restaurants ou notre amis restaurant sur la falaise puis prendre le bateau à La Spezia. Un aperitivo dans la ville puis le train de retour à Villafranca / Bagnone.

The perfect week

Anna and David are lovely hosts making you feel welcome from the first moment. The property offers everything you can imagine for super relaxing holidays. Both the house and the huge pool are very clean. There is nothing to worry about. With any issue you might have you can always rely on Anna’s and David’s help. We very much enjoyed our stay. Downside: we already left after one week.

Exceeded our expectations

The villa itself had everything you could think of. The weather was not kind to us so spent time inside and the log fire was wonderful. The rooms were spacious and spotless and the kitchen had all the utensils you could want. In the warm weather there would be plenty of seating for sun lovers as well as those wanting the shade. The pool and diving board are fantastic it was just a shame that we could not benefit from this as the weather made it to cold. Would love to visit again in the Summer. David was friendly and knowledgeable of the area and on hand if needed. Overall -highly recommend.

Impossible to put this place into words, and the view through the shutters on that first morning were 'stunning', your previous guests did sum it up well. The children used the pool to the extreme and have not stopped talking about the night they swam in the dark with the pool lights on. We had the most amazing week, great food great wine and your visits with your beautiful dog and your kind gifts really helped make our holiday. We're already missing sitting on the terrace in the evening watching the sun go down over the mountains. Only wish we could have stayed another week to take in more of this magical place. Thanks David and Ana for making this a holiday to remember, you couldn't have been more welcoming, we'll be back!

Wonderful relaxing holiday

David, the owner met us in Bagnone and drove up with us to the house. Upon arrival, we all just stood there and stared, it couldn`t have been more impressive. On the other side of the valley there was an amazing thunderstorm to watch and the grounds and swimming pool were even better than the photos had suggested. The house inside has loads of room and is very charming and traditional. We had a few Barbecues on the big terrace outside and cooked our own Pasta and Pizza in the very well equipped kitchen inside. So many places to visit, so much to do, but also just relaxing by the pool (weather permitting) was beautiful. Having four 20+s with us, it was great for them to be able to make a noise and not worry about any neighbours complaining. We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay and are definitely planning to make it back and stay there again. Thanks to David and Ana for making our stay so memorable.

Simply stunning...yes really!

The pictures do not tell the whole story about this villa. You are greeted by the most wonderful array of flowers, shrubs, trees when you arrive and it just gets better and better. The property is really well furnished with everything you need. If you need something else, ask David! We said early on that a microwave would be useful to help with toddlers milk and food etc...2 days later David turns up with a brand new microwave! Beds are super comfy and large, bathrooms large and very clean, well stocked kitchen, salami, cheese, wine, beer and olive oil all there ready. Logs were supplied for the chilly evenings in April, however it was 20C plus during each day so we were blessed with the weather. Both David and Ana are lovely people, they give great advice on days out, places to eat, things to do and are always happy to help. Lerici was lovely for lunch, Pisa interesting and lots more to see and do. Will we return? You bet we will

Incredibly pretty , stunning views , perfection .

We had high expectations for this holiday as we were celebrating a 60th birthday with the family and we had spent several hours trying to find the most suitable place . David kindly met us in the local village and we followed him up to the property. When we arrived at the property we were literally blown away by the most incredible views. They really are spectacular . However , the villa was not to disappoint. It is a beautifully renovated building and it is clear that quality fixtures and fittings have been used to create this idyllic villa . Every room has been beautifully decorated and the beds are extremely comfortable . The kitchen is well equipped and there is plenty of storage . Brilliant cooking facilities and a huge fridge to keep all the wine chilled . There is a huge dining table both indoor and outdoor . We had the most amazing memorable week . David would be round early morning to clean and maintain the pool and kindly got the water to the right temperature for the not so brave of us . The pool is huge and very clean . There are comfortable sunbeds and plenty of pool towels . David was always available for tips and recommendations for good restaurants etc but was also exceptionally respectful of our privacy . I could go on and on about this place and I cannot express how amazing the place is . We are definitely going back as it really is perfection .

Welcome to the place you never wanna leave!

We are renting houses for our yearly summer vacations, mainly in Italy and Spain, over a decade now. And we had rather high expectations for this property due to all the nice reviews and pictures. Good lord! People say pictures tell more than thousand words. Well, they can never ever meet the epiphany we had when David (Knox, the owner) took us through the property gates and onto the drive way to the house. It was the first time that my expectations have been exceeded in every single instance, by miles. Some specifics why I think this must be one of the best locations globally. Starting with THE VIEW! Like a canyon watcher you could probably spend the whole day sitting on one of the several different terraces and feel the atmosphere shifting minute by minute. Then the pool. Perfectly designed in terms of safety and cleaning features and moreover it's wisely equipped for the guests’ different needs: diving board for the athletic ones, two different type of sunbeds (one for the readers with sunshield, one for the chillers with soft mattress), shower and a “sunport” that provides semi-shade for yoga sessions. The kitchen is for us probably the most important place indoors, especially during vacation. Hence, I am often annoyed how little attention summer house owners pay to that key space of social interaction. Not in this house! Two fridges (one for the beverages and one for food, if you like), a gas oven, a kitchen island with bar stools, a collection of actually sharp knives (!), large frying pans for infinite pasta cooking pleasure etc. Moreover, the kitchen has entrances to the house’s two main terraces and you're always passing the fridge... Part of the kitchen of course, even if located outdoors and perfectly positioned for a GT sundowner, is the charcoal grill. Even if you’re less of a grilling freak than I am, a sufficiently sized dry-wood suited grill with three different grilling grate elevation levels doesn’t leave anyone’s eye dry. But all these fantastic features of this place appear in the end almost profane compared to the service level and kindness the owner David Knox brings to the table. Whatever questions or considerations you have regarding the property or the area, David is only a call or a message away with solid and inspiring input. David seems to have friends in and tips for any given town, which we followed with an almost 100% hit-rate. We will not wait for the next worldcup David, we'll be back sooner! Dino/Christine & Family The first thing is obviously to say a very big thank you for your kind words. I had some trepidation when i left the villa to meet you in Bagnone. How do you greet guests from Sweden when just a few hours earlier it was Sweden 0 England 2 in the World Cup Finals? Thankfully a sense of humor came to the rescue. I already had a sign ready for the gates if the score had been the other way around...."Gone Fishing". :-) Jokes aside it was great to meet you all and thanks for joining us to cheer England on in the next round. Negronis with you guys watching England at Il Barretto in Bagnone will stay with Ana and I forever! We are both looking forward to seeing you again in the future and a visit to Stockholm is on the cards...the only minor issue is Bagnone 1x Spritz including nibbles = Eur 4....Stockholm Eur 15.... wir hatten eine super schöne und entspannte Woche. Das Haus war bestens ausgestattet, die Aussicht und der Pool waren großartig und David/Ana waren die perfekten Gastgeber die gerne ihr Netzwerk für alles mögliche zur Verfügung stellten! Auch das Angebot, dass bei Bedarf ein eigener Koch Abends kocht und die Küche wieder sauber macht ist genial!

Ein magischer Ort- einzigartig

David und Ana haben an diesem einzigartigen Ort ein kleines Paradies geschaffen, das erst durch ihren persönlichen und liebevollen Einsatz zu diesem magischen Ort wird. Das gemütliche Haus bietet viel Komfort: 4 Schlafzimmer, davon 2 Zimmer mit eigenem Bad, 2 teilten sich ein Bad. Eine sehr grosse Wohnküche und ein separates Wohnzimmer mit Kamin. Mehrere überdachte Aussenterrassen sowie der grosse Pool mit gigantischer Aussicht lassen keine Wünsche offen. Wir haben einen sehr harmonischen Urlaub dort verbracht. Alle waren begeistert.

Heaven on Earth - and a bit more...

I am still in awe of how it is possible to create such a amazing place like Ana & Davids house in the mountains near Bagnone... We had a week of pure bliss - relaxing by the pool, having picnics in the olive grove, dining outside the house on the terrace with the most gorgeous view over the valley and mountains, star gazing until midnight with wine and italian meringue and were lucky to see shooting stars on the clear sky. Since we were travelling in the shadow of covid19 we spent a lot of time in the house which is spacious, cosy and beautifully decorated. The bedrooms were bright and the beds so comfy and inviting. The bathrooms were tastefully decorated, very clean and with three towels for each person besides a huge and comfy pool towel. The kitchen was fantastic and extremely well equipped; soap for the dishwasher and for the washing machine, handsoap, sharp knives and salt and pepper, coffee - and a bottle of rosé upon our arrival. David was very helpful and just a text away if we needed anything. He came every morning to clean the pool so it looked nice and inviting for us when we came down to have our late morning swim or for my friends daily yoga session. We had wto teen age boys in our group and they were both keen on swimming and exploring the mountain streames, rivers and waterfalls in the area, and David knew a gorgeous place besides the one we found ourselves - it litteraly took our breath away and our boys - the grown up included - was over the moon diving and jumping in the river pools. It felt like a crime to leave and it was with tears in my eyes that I had to leave this little piece of heaven - when I come back I will make sure to stay more than a week. Thank you so much Ana & David for making our vacation so perfect and unforgettable and for providing such a fantastic service for us in the end of our stay - you are the most perfect hosts and it was so nice meeting you both :-D Best wishes The Volstrup family and the Nørgaard family

Mehr Privatsphäre und Ruhe geht nicht!

Perfekt eingerichtetes Haus mit sehr viel Charme und riesigem Umschwung. Das absolute Highlight ist der grosse Pool mit herrlicher Aussicht. Hier genießt man absolute Privatsphäre bei sehr sympathischen Gastgebern.

Each couple prepared the reviews below: Our time at the villa was everything a vacation should be. Beautiful, relaxing yet exciting and overall one of the best vacation we have ever been on. The Villa is amazing, it feels like home immediately, the town is out of a storybook; the people could not be friendlier. We can’t wait to go back. Bob & Bev One of our best vacations ever. Breathtaking views, privacy, and serenity

This property is truly spectacular. The thing that first strikes you when you drive up is the serenity and privacy - you are well removed from your nearest neighbor - and the incredible views of mountains and the valley below, a view that changed from morning to night as the light changed. The pool was amazing and our family spent many happy hours swimming, relaxing, and reading by the pool. The villa is immaculate - it was spotless on our arrival and had everything a family of 6 needed. The area surrounding the villa could not be more charming - the town of Bagnone is beautiful and the locals were exceptionally friendly. We particularly enjoyed going to town for morning espressos and pastries. There was a wonderful Monday morning street market right in the middle of town where we bought wonderful meat, cheeses, and fresh fruit/vegetables. We took many walks of varying difficulty in and around Bagnone and the surrounding towns. We hiked in the Apennines and had easy day trips to Lucca and the Cinque Terre. Finally, the owner David is an amazing host - he cares deeply about the experience of his guests and does whatever he can to make the stay perfect. He was remarkably responsive during the booking process and readily available throughout the stay to provide recommendations for restaurants and activities. This property far exceeded our high expectations and we will make every effort to return as soon as possible.

Amazing stay with family

We had a truly amazing stay, words (or photos) do not do justice to the views-nothing will beat sitting on the veranda watching an electrical storm roll through the valley beneath us. Our party had 4 children under 5 years old who were able to safely explore the house and the grounds. As we had children we treated ourselves to the local chef (Stefan) who is superb and cooked us a range of local dishes. We have been recommending the property to friends and family-we intend to return again and thank you for your hospitality David!

Nachdem sich das Eingangstor das erste Mal bei der Anfahrt geöffnet hat, erblickt man die ruhig gelegene Villa mit der fantastischen Aussicht. Das Haus ist mit sehr viel Liebe eingerichtet und die Ausstattung lässt keine Wünsche übrig. Sämtliche Beschreibungen entsprechen der Realität. Die Außenanlage ist sehr gepflegt und bietet mit dem 15x6m großem Pool ein absolutes Highlight auf. Unübertroffen ist aber die Freundlichkeit und Hilfsbereitschaft von David und Ana, die uns viele wertvolle Tipps für Restaurants und Ausflüge gegeben haben. Wir haben für 2 Wochen mit zwei Familien (4 Erwachsen und 4 Kindern) dieses Paradies erleben dürfen und würden jederzeit wiederkommen. Ein Juwel für jeden Toskana-Fan.

A wonderful week in the most breathtaking location

My partner & I plus 3 friends rented this villa for a week mid June and from the moment we arrived it felt like home. The views from the Villa and terraces were absolutely breath taking plus we had the added bonus of a week of amazing weather with wall to wall sunshine & blue skies. The Villa was stunning with just the right combination of comfort and elegance. Lots of different areas for our group to be together or escape to with a good book. We had a few great lunches and dinners out in the surrounding towns & villages (recommendations by David, the owner) but to be honest our favourite meals were had at the Villa with us all helping to cook and either eating on the side terrace dinning area or by the BBQ watching the sun sink below the mountains. We found it very hard to tare ourselves away from the Villa if truth be told, it being such a wonderful place to relax and unwind. We did however spend one day in the magical Lucca which after 15 years since we last visited is still as magical. The Villa owners David and Ana (plus not forgetting their adorable dog Aris) could not have been more helpful and delightful during our stay and were always available on the phone or in person for restaurant recommendations etc plus we had a lovely early evening drink with them at the Villa during our stay after we had watched them toiling over Ana's vegetable patch. We chatted with David & Ana about the building and setting up of the Villa over a glass or two of David's own wine (another year and the wine will be perfect) We will definitely be returning and would have no hesitation in recommending this stunning place to friends and family. If you are looking for a Villa in a stunning location with lots to see and do in the local area or if you just want to laze away the day by the pool or on the terraces whilst reading a good book then this is the Villa for you See you in 2018 David, Ana & Aris Fondest regards Carl xx

Carl & Friends, Thanks very much for the review and in particular the cold beer after "the toiling" in Ana's vegetable patch! I'm also pleased to announce you are the first guests to ever taste a wine from the villa. Fencing the whole property last year has kept out the oversized wildlife who were rather fond of the grapes. Last October we were finally able to harvest sufficient to produce a few bottles.....there's one in the cellar for you! Keep in touch Best D&A

A true oasis of tranquillity perfect for families

After weeks of searching,I finally came across this holiday villa which it raised to it's previous reviews in every single way.At arrival David met us and showed us the way to the house making sure we do not get lost.Once in the house we were amazed about the beauty of the place:the landscape outside is a dream of perfect natural beauty, as you bath in the pool you can see all over the valley and the majestic mountains. The house is impeccable,a house made with love where every detail is well thought.Well done for creating such a beautiful house!The beds are huge with very good mattresses and five star linen and towels are provided. Ana bought enough food to last us for dinner ,breakfast and beyond and it was delicious!They even got us baby milk. We were 2 families with kids under 6 yrs old and we had so much fun and kids were safe at all times as pool was on a different level and the inside house was very accommodating. The place is a true oasis of tranquillity and we enjoyed staying put most of the week.There are lots of places to visit nearby or up to 2hrs away for more adventurous people. We wish we could have stayed longer and we hope to return Thank you David and Ana for your hospitality and for being on call 24 hrs to answer our silly questions :)

Excellent oroperty

If it's peace and quiet you're after this is the place for you. There are lots of seating areas with beautiful views and the only sounds are the birds and bees. We enjoyed many relaxing days by the pool enjoying the beautiful surroundings. The villa is within easy traveling distance to Cinque Terre, La Spezia,Pisa and many other attractions if you can tear yourself away. David the owner was exceptionally helpful and was always available to give advice. All and all we had a fantastic week. H&H Northern Ireland.

Private Luxury Estate

I booked this beautiful place as a surprise for my husbands birthday. (5 adults and 3 children plus guests). My criteria were: private, luxury, pool, spacious (outdoor and indoor) barbecue and a view. I needed at place for children and adults to have a great holiday. As a first time booker of private holiday homes, I must admit I was a bit nervous what would be awaiting. Everybody knows pictures can be deceiving. But every single bit of my doubts were put to shame when we arrived at this estate. It was simply just breathtaking. Every where you turn, you have the view of the amazing mountains - even from your bathroom window. Having your morning coffee on the terrasse is simply amazing, cause you are surrounded by a 280 degree mountain view and silence. All bedrooms are carefully decorated and all have beautiful bathrooms with high quality materials. The big kitchen/dinning area is inviting to conversation and cosy times. The house has L shaped terrace with a complete outdoor dinning area and a lounge area where you can see the sun rise and set over the mountains while enjoying your coffee/glass of wine. As the cherry on top, the owners are welcoming and beyond helpful. (fx we had bought these air pool toys for our boys, but neither of us had the desire or lunges to blow them up, and vupti within the day David came with a pump :) So in a nutshell, If you are looking for a completely private, high scale original detailed holiday house with a amazing view and space, well here it is. Wow - what a great place

Just perfect! The villa is as described - luxury, incredible views and the best pool any of us (8 friends) have had on any other holiday - and with a diving board. The villa is on the side of a mountain and gives the sense of a real escape but also only a 10 minute drive to amenities in Bagnone, with train station for day trips (although we only left the villa one day and ate out one night - we didn't want to leave!). Everything about the villa is all to such a high standard, beyond 'home from home' - there has been such attention to detail in the design and fittings and the villa just has such a lovely feel - helped by the stunning views from all rooms and the sweeping terrace (with huge bbq). If the villa wasn't enough, David the owner was awesome, really helpful with tips for the area, booking the one restaurant we did eat at and generally ensuring we had such a great holiday. We were 8 friends (aged 26/27) but I also think this villa would be ideal for families (great pool, ping pong table). I have already recommended to lots of people and can't imagine why anyone would not love this place!

Fantastic

Fantastic is just one of the words to describe this magical villa on the hillside. We stayed as two families in the villa, over the years we have done lots of villa's around the world and this one stands out from the crowd. The inside is immaculate and everything is provided to a very high standard, lots of space, beautiful rooms with lovely quirky decor, even down to a supply of red wine was on offer. Outside, the gardens are beautiful and a lovely place to sit, the kids enjoyed the amazing (huge) pool. There are lots of areas to explore or just sit and drink wine. For us the weather wasn't very good, but David (owner) and family made sure we had plenty of wood for the open fire, thick duvets on the beds and gave us details of things to do near by or see. Nothing seemed to much trouble for them to make sure our holiday was a relaxing time. Thank you David and family for a wonderful stay and we wish you all many years of success with the Villa in Aria. Ludicrously good

Beautiful as ever, but lots of additions and improvements since our last stay in 2013. We hadn't realised how great the weather could be in this part of Tuscany after the main holiday season. (Imagine the perfect high summer's day in the UK and that's what we had here in late September). The fresh vegetables from the garden were a revelation - a lunchtime salad with pomodori and a barbecue with grilled aubergine both picked minutes before. Then picking fresh grapes from the vineyard, followed by a swim to cool off, then a trip to one of the many excellent local restaurants. Bliss.

Andy. Its always a great pleasure to welcome you all to Italy. Your thoughts and feed-back in the early stage of our project have been invaluable and have in principle guided us to where we are today. I hope you can make the olive picking season this year and thanks for helping us last year with picking the saffron. We have increased production once again this year due to the natural growth of new bulbs from the existing stock. You know what's coming next!!! The walk through the woods, the rickety gate, the 210 degree view and the old barn was the place i fell in love with in 2004. I subsequently built the villa, cleared the land, planted the vines and olives and now live and work near to the property. The experience has given me the chance to meet many people in the area and sample food in the local restaurants which i am happy to book on your behalf. I can also organize daily trips and I am on hand to help in any other way in order to make your time in Lunigiana as special as possible.
