About Karen and Jeff Lewis
We live in Cardiff and have two grown up sons. We started coming to Port Isaac 20 years ago and visited a few times every year, growing to love it more and more each time. We always dreamed of owning our own place in this beautiful spot and that dream came true when we bought the Jolly Boat, our much loved second home. We spend as much time as we can in this lovely little apartment and are very happy to share it with others when we can't be there ourselves.
Karen and Jeff Lewis purchased this Apartment in 2013
Why Karen and Jeff Lewis chose Port Isaac
We fell in love with the Jolly Boat because it was just what we were looking for as our little retreat. It is in a wonderful position - very close to both Port Isaac and Port Gaverne, but far enough out of the village to be quiet even in the height of summer. We had been looking for 'our place' for some time and we knew that we wanted privacy and - most important and difficult to come by in Port Isaac - private free parking directly outside. The apartment is perfect for two people - comfortable, light, and well equipped. Most of all we love to sit outside the front on a summer's evening and watch the sea. Perfect!

Lovely flat - clean and cosy
Had a wonderful stay thanks xx
Thank you for the lovely review - so glad you enjoyed yourselves
Flat is in a good position in Port Isaac with parking space. Furnished to a good standard. Only downside is bathroom rather cold and bedroom cold and damp. We were there during storm Gareth, which probably did not help the situation. Would imagine this would not be a problem in the warmer months. Overall we enjoyed our stay despite this.
We’re glad you had a nice stay but surprised that you found the flat cold . There are new wall heaters that are very efficient and heat the flat up quickly if used according to instructions , and a new heated towel rail in the bathroom. There is also a high quality electric log stove . But we value your feedback and , as you say , you were there during an exceptional period of cold, wet and windy weather ! We will check the heating system to see if we need to address any issues .
Cosy retreat with a view.
A lovely stay in a cosy flat with everything you could possibly need. Excellent communication with the owners. Thank you Karen and Jeff. It’s ideally situated and has fantastic views outside. Port Issac is just a 10 minute walk away and is just amazing. So pretty. There’s a couple of pubs, gift shops and some nice eating places. It’s very relaxing. The hills can be quite challenging though!😮 It’s also not too far, with a car, to go off and visit other places such as Padstow, Newquay and Tintagel. I highly recommend this place. It’s a hidden treasure. Hopefully in the future we’ll be back again for another visit. 😊
Thank you so much for this lovely review Ann. We’d be delighted to see you again !

Thank you for your lovely review . Hope to see you again soon.
The Jolly Boat is a lovely little apartment. We really enjoyed our stay here.
What a lovely place. It has everything you could need and is comfortable and homely. The view out front is lovely and we sat out with a cuppa on more than one occasion, just gazing out to sea. I spoke to Karen prior to our trip and she was very lovely and helpful. Port Isaac is beautiful and the homely apartment tops it off. It's easily walkable to all restaurants and bars. A great holiday!!
Thank you for such a lovely review Lisa. We hope to welcome you back soon.
A comfortable flat in a great location
I had a very pleasant week in the Jolly Boat which is in a great location. The outside of the building is a little tired and I was not tempted to sit in the communal porch despite lovely views but to take chairs out and sit overlooking Port Gaverne was fantastic. The flat itself had everything I needed and the kitchen though small was well equipped. To be so close to both Port Isaac and Port Gaverne was a real bonus as was the parking although until I realised you could remove the poles I had a few challenging moments getting into the space!
We are very glad you had a nice stay with us - yes the views from outside are fantastic as you say. We love to take the chairs from the communal porch out to the front and sit with a cup of coffee, or glass of wine, watching the sea.
The outside of the building is due to be painted this year - it takes a bit of a battering from the wind and sea as you can imagine!

Special interest holidays:
The area is wonderful for walking, surfing, swimming and watersports. There are plenty of cultural activities on offer throughout north Cornwall and of course the Eden project is within easy driving distance. We are very close to the Camel Trail for cycling and there are several bike hire places in Wadebridge and Padstow.
The beach at Port Gaverne is less than a ten minute walk, and Port Isaac harbour about the same. As soon as you step out of the front door of Seapoint you face the magnificent Atlantic ocean - beautiful at any time of the year. The coastal path is easily accessible within a ten minute walk.
Port Isaac is a great base for a holiday in North Cornwall. Padstow, Rock, Polzeath (great surfing beach), Tintagel and Boscastle are all within very easy driving distances.
You will be very well placed to explore the locations of the successful TV series 'Doc Martin' in Port Isaac and Port Gaverne.
There is an excellent range of places to eat and drink within easy walking distance, including Nathan Outlaw's 1 Michelin star Fish Kitchen and his 2 Michelin star signature restaurant: Nathan Outlaw (recently moved to Port Isaac from nearby Rock). There are also two good pubs with food and numerous coffee places within easy walking distance. There is a well stocked Co-op supermarket within five minutes walk of the Jolly Boat and an excellent fish market in Port Isaac Harbour. You can often see the fisherman unloading their catch.
A wider range of shops including excellent butchers, bakers, greengrocers, gift shops etc. can be found in both Rock and Wadebridge - about a 15 minute drive.
