Having stayed in Grooms cottage this year and Keepers cottage last year, I would highly recommend this holiday destination. Not only did the cottages have everything you need the manager was very prompt with a few queries I had. A lovely place to get away from it all.
We stayed here for a wedding in Trebetherick. Which meant a couple of expensive taxis but the ability to wind down quietly away from the rest of the party was nice. The accommodation is upside down so that meant a nice breakfast on the balcony . Certainly stay again if the opportunity arises.

Lovely cottage and great for our dogs Could do with a little tlc and clean. Kitchen was great. Dog kennell had bird mess all over. Marked down as expected enclosed garden area for dogs to turn them out into from the back door, not just a patio,

Thank you for your comments. It is a shame that you didn’t ask us to remove the swallows’ droppings when you discovered them as we would have responded with the same speed as we did when you thought the flush had broken on the loo. I do hope you enjoyed watching the swallows from your balcony by the way; they return every year and they are welcomed with great pleasure. They do unavoidably make a small mess under their nest in the kennel. My apologies. As is stated in the property details the cottage has its own enclosed front and back yard and the large enclosed dog exercise area is less than a minute away. I do hope that the unplanned early arrival I was able to give you somewhat mitigated your disappointment.
Lovely location, next to a small farm. Great views from the balcony, stars at night were spectacular. Nice waking up to the rooster and cows. Our large dog loved the securely enclosed paddock with a lake in the middle. Extremely cosy and warm cottage.
Great central base for exploring North Cornwall. Cottage had everything we needed. They had thought of everything. Perfect holiday location for those bringing their dogs. Great stay! Will definitely be back.
A good location to explore Cornwall! The property was also well equipped and was as described. We appreciated our welcome basket after a long journey. Many thanks!
Great property, great location to explore Cornwall. Local beaches exceptional and access to fabulous coastal walks and Bodmin moor. We felt relaxed in this cosy barn conversion just wish it had been cold enough to light the wood burner. We would definitely go back and would recommend it
Very quiet relaxing location in a comfortable corrage. If you are not accustomed to driving through very narrow winding lanes it could be a bit challenging getting there but definitely worth it. Very informative folder of places to visit also provided.
Nice little property on a lovely friendly farm. Superb for dogs with their own dog friendly paddock. Plenty of outdoor space for bikes and kit.
Living room /kitchen well equipped and comfortable.
Double bedroom quite a squeeze for two people with luggage
An enjoyable stay
A nice sized place. Bedrooms are small but only needed for sleeping. The farm can be a bit noisy at times but it’s kind of comforting. You do need to travel to shops and pubs but there are things about 5 miles away. Had a really nice few days stay.
Stunning barn in a beautiful farm, absolutely 100 % percent perfect. We didn't want to leave and our dog who is well fussy absolutely settled in straight away. Looking at dates to come back as im missing it already and only left this morning. Xxx
Beautiful property in a beautiful part of Cornwall. Located on a farm in the Higher Tregawne area.
Perfect for a weeks stay, our converted barn was well equipped & had beautiful views across the north Cornish countryside.
A nice touch was to find a selection of goodies incl. wine on our arrival.
It would have been nice to meet our hosts at least once during our stay but unfortunately this wasn’t to be. Overall though, great value for money & we really enjoyed our stay.

Higher Tregawne is farmed by Henry and his family, who keep 400 cattle and 1000 sheep.
John and Caroline live at Sleeve farm which is 26 miles away where they run a Stud farm
Both John and Caroline are animal lovers with a particular passion for dogs and horses.
They currently have 5 dogs 3 terriers, a Romanian Mio and a Bearded Collie. 4 of them are rescues.
Why they chose this property
It is ideal for dogs, families and you. It is rural, quiet, secluded, private peaceful and yet accessible. It is near everywhere but next to no where, Kids's can play and run free with your dog/s in the fenced exercise area whilst you watch them from the balcony.
Their is virtually no light pollution and no noise although you are right next to a working farm and their may be mooing and sometimes as in silage time machinery working late.
There are supermarkets in Wadebridge and Bodmin and Wadebridge in summer is a busy and vibrant place. There are takeaways that deliver and even a Mcdonalds 4 miles away on the A30.
The Coast is within 10 miles either way with every sort of beach you could wish for.Take little kids and the dog/s bucket and spading at Daymer Bay bigger ones body boarding at Polzeath. They strut their stuff whilst you sit on the beach and watch. Parents needn't worry if their body boarding looks like 'Dad dancing' only the kids will be embarrassed and it is amazing, come home worn out and covered in sand. There are boards in the shed. A lot of people buy wetsuits on line before they come. If you are more athletic try surfing or coasteering which is great if you are strongish swimmers. . John and Caroline make scrumpy if you let us know we will leave you half a gallon in the cottage but unless you know what you are doing half a pint is plenty.
If you like the quiet life there are Stately homes, gardens, shops, Eden Project, Moors, Coast path and other walks Camel Trail (user friendly cycling i.e.it is flat and you can start and finish in Padstow) restaurants pubsTintagel (King Arthurs Seat) beaches, Jamaica Inn, Daphne Du Maurier, caves ,fishing villages, boat trips, ferry rides, Looe, Fowey, Lands End, Minack Theatre, Museums, Lost Gardens of Heligan Newquay, Zoos, Plymouth Hoe, Churches. Bodmin Gaol Wine Tasting, Theme Parks, Steam trains et al
Cornwall is full of things to do whatever the weather.
What makes this property unique
Tregawne sits at the head of the Ruthern Valley overlooking its own land. It is privacy personified. Our own experience of Cottage holidays with dogs have told us that when the brochure says dog friendly it means you can bring your dog. Cottages have had no facilities for dogs at all. We went to Ireland the promised dog proof garden was far from it. The big dogs could jump the gate and the little dogs walk under it. Needless to say it did not lead to a successful holiday far from it.
When you come on holiday with dogs and kids they need space. We have a fenced exercise area of nearly an acre where your dogs and kids can run free. No walk of shame at 7.30 am and 11.00 pm with a plastic bag although we do ask you to poo pick. Chuck the dogs and kids out and go back to bed or sit on the balcony and watch them. n.b there is a lake in the exercise area in which dogs and kids and you are welcome to swim but please do be careful and don't leave small children or ones who cannot swim unsupervised. The lake is between I and 2 metres deep in the middle. We also provide a kennel for each cottage where you can leave your dogs if you want to go somewhere without them - assuming they are used to it.
