Cottage Situé Dans La Chùtaigneraie Ancienne

La Casa Paladini a Ă©tĂ© construite en 1904 et a Ă©tĂ© restaurĂ©e avec soin. Toutes les caractĂ©ristiques d'origine ont Ă©tĂ© conservĂ©es: plafonds et planches en chĂątaignier, foyer en pierre et mobilier en chĂątaignier d'origine, portes et fenĂȘtres, intĂ©rieur et extĂ©rieur en pierre. Le chalet est situĂ© dans une chĂątaigneraie le long de l'ancienne route reliant Castilgione di Garfagnana aux villages de haute montagne et aux pĂąturages supĂ©rieurs. Le point le plus proche accessible en voiture se trouve Ă  250 mĂštres. Les vĂ©hicules Ă  quatre roues motrices ne verront aucun inconvĂ©nient Ă  se rendre au chalet. Le village de Chiozza et sa pizzeria sont Ă  1,5 km et Castiglione di Garfagnana, une ville primĂ©e, Ă  3 km Ă  pied, Ă  travers la forĂȘt. Plusieurs sentiers de randonnĂ©e partent directement de la porte du chalet, dont 2 km Ă  pied d'un pont mĂ©diĂ©val et d'une cascade, parfaits pour la baignade en Ă©tĂ©. Il y a un jardin d'herbes bien entretenu juste en face du chalet avec des pommes de terre, tomates, chou, etc. et des herbes Ă  cueillir en fonction de la saison. Casa Paladini est une retraite idĂ©ale pour les artistes / jeunes mariĂ©s / ceux qui cherchent Ă  s’éloigner du bruit du monde moderne. Les seuls bruits nocturnes sont le courant et la faune Ă  proximitĂ© du chalet, y compris le sanglier, le cerf, les grillons, etc. Castilgione, avec ses boutiques et son restaurant, se trouve Ă  30 minutes Ă  pied de la montagne et un excellent supermarchĂ© mobile se trouve Ă  moins de 300 mĂštres du chalet une fois par semaine.

Porto fuori dal mondo, assolutamente originale per gli standard italiani. Esattamente quello che cercavo. Una struttura quasi irraggiungibile immersa nel verde con persone estremamente accoglienti e spontanee. Il clima della casa era veramente molto caldo, struttura antica, in sasso con pavimentazione in legno, stufa a legna e camino. Un grazie caloroso a chi ci ospitato e che abbiamo trovato casualmente navigando.

Amazing!

The cottage is wonderful for getting away from it all. Comfy bed, wifi, brilliant host, a varied selection of wildlife and animals! The location is really off the beaten track, the last road to the parking is very narrow with tight bends. We walked down the ancient path to the medieval bridge a couple of times, steep but great views. Very peaceful place, thoroughly recommended.

A stunning retreat and welcome respite

The views from Paladini are beautiful beyond what the pictures show, but the people are even better. We spent nights sitting on benches at the fire, but on days we felt less social were given perfect privacy in the cottage. Colm was the ideal host.Our large dog was not only permitted, but warmly greeted and welcomed. The cottage not only had everything needed for cooking, but also books and a few games. Firewood was provided, and the wood stove easily and quickly warms the cottage (including the upper floor).The tranquility of the cottage, whimsical signs, sociability of the common space, and friendliness of the inhabitants (even the donkeys!), and walking trails just meters from the door make Paladini an experience not to be missed.

Wer einen Ort sucht, um sich etwas Gutes zu tun ist hier genau richtig.

Die HĂŒtte ist mit dem Auto nicht erreichbar. Dennoch wĂŒrden wir jederzeit wiederkommen. Wir hatten wunderbare Tage in diesem Haus. Es ist ein Ort an dem die Seele Kraft tanken, und das Herz zur Ruhe kommen kann.

Super Auszeit

Wie eine Zeitreise in die Kindheit zu den Urgroßeltern! Elementare Ausstattung, aber alles, was man braucht fĂŒr's WohlfĂŒhlen und Abschalten vom eigenen Alltag. Super netter Vermieter, man kann alles mitbenutzen inkl. Garten. Man fĂŒhlt sich wie losgelöst auf dieser kleinen Waldinsel. Die 300m Waldpfad, die man per Fuß zum Areal zurĂŒcklegen muss, sind fĂŒr WandergeĂŒbte auch kein Problem. Wir haben uns sehr wohlgefĂŒhlt und unsere Auszeit sehr genossen!

Erholung in fantastischer Landschaft

Mein Mann und ich haben die 14 Tage in der NĂ€he von Castiglione sehr genossen. Der Vermieter ist sehr entspannt und immer vor Ort auf dem Campingplatz beschĂ€ftigt. Wer die absolute Einsamkeit sucht, ist hier nicht richtig, da der Campingplatz gut besucht ist und man immer wieder in Kontakt kommt mit dem internationalen Publikum. Abends wird hĂ€ufig musiziert, was wir aber nie als störend empfunden haben. Man kommt definitiv nicht mit dem Auto zum Haus, auch nicht mit Allradantrieb, sondern bringt sein GepĂ€ck mit Schubkarren ĂŒber einen abschĂŒssigen Weg nach unten. Dadurch wird man aber auch nicht von MotorenlĂ€rm gestört. Die Landschaft ringsum ist grandios und die Wanderwege gut ausgewiesen.

Un paio di giorni di puro relax

Sono stata via da sola con Rudy, il mio Cucciolo di 9 mesi. Siamo stati immersi nel verde per 4 giorni. Ambiente rustico, ma non manca nulla. Se il giardino attorno alla casa fosse recintato sarebbe il top. Lo consiglio vivamente. Accoglienza top!

Il mondo che vorrei

Abbiamo soggiornato da Colm, solamente una notte, con la possibilità di effettuare il check-in anticipatamente, avendone la possibilità. L’alloggio ù stupendo, caldo, confortevole e nella sua semplicità, esattamente quello che cercavamo, pace per la mente e per il cuore. Il bosco intorno e il racconto di Colm, sulla loro produzione di farina di castagne, ha riempito il piccolo soggiorno di curiosità e benessere. Un posto stupendo, dove spero di poter tornare presto, con il giusto tempo da dedicargli. Grazie

Via dalla pazza folla

Cercavamo un posto per staccare e restare a contatto con la natura. Sicuramente lo abbiamo trovato. La casa Ăš ben ristrutturata e confortevole. Colm Ăš molto disponibile e simpatico...ci ha offerto anche le uova fresche delle sue galline! Esperienza molto positiva!

Un tuffo nel passato

La casa Ăš stata ristrutturata in maniera impeccabile, offre tutto il necessario dei giorni di oggi ma rispetta le tradizioni di un tempo. Abbiamo trascorso 4 giorni immersi nella natura accompagnati dai suoi meravigliosi suoni, un posto ideale per liberarsi dei ritmi frenetici della vita cotidiana. Natur pur

Mit Stöckelschuhen wird weder Mann noch Frau hier GlĂŒcklich, wer Wanderschuhe dabei hat und ein wenig Kondition kann dagegen ein abgelegenes PlĂ€tzchen vorfinden, das 5 Minuten Bergab von der Parkmöglichkeit liegt. Das Paladine Wild Camping liegt unmittelbar daneben, war bei unserem Besuch aber ĂŒberhaupt nicht aufgefallen. Generell ist man hier in den Bergen, das sollte man wissen wenn man AusflĂŒge zu Fuß plant. Der Weg zur beschriebenen Mittelalterlichen BrĂŒcke ist fantastisch, zurĂŒck aber halt auch anstrengend. Wer nicht laufen will, kann auch mit dem Auto die BrĂŒcke erreichen, oder lĂ€uft das kurze StĂŒck die andere Seite zum nĂ€chstgelegenen Ort und nimmt den Bus nach Chiozza ( Fahrplan vorher checken ), von dort geht es Bergab zum Domizil. FĂŒr TagesausflĂŒge nach Pisa / Lucca / ans Meer auch ein wunderbarer Ausgangsort, am Abend nach den TouristenĂŒberlaufenen Orten hat man hier wunderbare Ruhe und macht sich eine Pizza im eigenen Holzofen, oder geht in die Pizzeria im Ort.

Lovely Place

Although set in lovely woodland the property is not quite as private as Home Away website would lead you to expect as there is a campsite very close by (Wild Camping Paladini which you can check out on other websites). However while we stayed it was very peaceful and the cottage had everything you could need except a toaster. Could benefit from maybe a couple of bedside tables (easier to pop your coffee cup on when sitting up in bed and admiring the mountain view from bedroom window!) Bed comfortable as is settee in lounge. There is open fire and stove but as it was very hot during our stay we did not need. Should be cosy enough in cooler weather although the doors have a few holes and gaps and there are curtains to pull across them. Not suitable for kids or those with disability as stairs very steep and no banister. The path down to the cottage from parking area is steep in places and rough - it feels a long way in 30 deg plus heat especially with luggage. There are walks you can do from the cottage to Silico and Castiglione which we would recommend. Also the village of Chiozza above is nice and its a relatively short drive from there up to the Radici pass and San Pelegrino in Alp (great view across from the cafe) from where start various high level mountain walks. Worth the drive to Lago Santo (you can go via Chiozza and Radici pass) a beautiful lake from where you can wander through alpine pastures full of flowers before ascending Monte Giovo 1991m high (takes about 3 and a half hours). Supermarkets in Pieve Foscianna down the hill from Chiozza have everything you require including the gluten free goods which my wife requires. Overall a good location if you are physically fit.

Wir sind nicht geblieben - nicht was wir erwartet hatten

Die Ferienwohnung / das Haus war fĂŒr uns leider nicht das richtige. Uns war zum einen nicht bewusst, dass man nicht mit dem Auto bis zum Haus fahren kann. Das ist in der deutschen Beschreibung, wahrscheinlich auch etwas der Übersetzung geschuldet, leider nicht ganz deutlich geworden. FĂŒr unseren Geschmack war das Haus auch etwas rustikaler und kleiner als wir es anhand der Fotos erwartet hatten. Mit 1,97 KörpergrĂ¶ĂŸe gab es mehr als eine Möglichkeit mir den Kopf zu stoßen. Die in der Anzeige verwendeten Fotos sind, wie in den eigentlich jeder Anzeige fĂŒr Ferienwohnungen aufpoliert, ich kann aber nicht behaupten, dass sie etwas völlig falsches zeigen. Am meisten abgeschreckt hat uns eigentlich der lange "Trampelpfad" zum Haus. Ich habe, nachdem wir laut Navi vor Ort waren, das Haus nicht finden konnten und weder den Besitzer noch den HaushĂ€lter (Handy kaputt) erreichen konnten zweimal begonnen den eigentlich richtigen Weg zu gehen, habe aber jedesmal abgebrochen, weil ich mir nicht vorstellen konnte, dass da noch irgendwo ein Haus kommen könnte. Und allein die Vorstellung den Weg fĂŒr jeden Ausflug, jeden Einkauf und vielleicht auch noch bei schlechtem Wetter gehen mĂŒssen hat ausgereicht um direkt ins Hotel zu gehen und dort nach einer neuen Unterkunft zu suchen. Auch sollte man drauf hinweisen, dass direkt hinter dem Haus eine Art Wild-Camping-Platz ist. Dies steht auch in der Anzeige, allerdings wusste ich nicht, dass dieser Platz einfach mit auf dem GrundstĂŒck ist. Wir hatten allerdings unseren Hund dabei und hĂ€tten somit diesen nicht unbeaufsichtigt laufen lassen können. Der Besitzer konnte unsere Entscheidung unseren Urlaub nicht in seinem Domizil verbringen zu wollen nicht nachvollziehen, war aber bemĂŒht und hat es geschafft die Wohnung fĂŒr drei Tage nochmal zu vermieten. Diese drei Tage wurden uns auch erstattet. Auf den restlichen Kosten sind wir sitzen geblieben, bereuen unsere Entscheidung aber nicht, da es uns definitiv den Urlaub komplett vermiest hĂ€tten wenn wir geblieben wĂ€ren.

Lovely setting, peaceful.

Good location but not recommended for the unfit due to fairly steep walk up/down from the cottage. Nice to sit and watch bats, owls at night. We were looking for peace and seclusion and this fitted the bill. We noticed them preparing the camp next for visitors and if we had come when a camp was there I think we would have been much less pleased.

Colm and friends and family have been living in Garfagnana since 2001 and are still Irish (just about). Colm's four sons have grown up in the area and the family is well integrated into the fabric of local society.

Colm is a musician and has found peace and inspiration whilst restoring Paladini and the other stone houses in the area.

The picture shows Colm with Dasha - one of many international volunteers who came to help in the restoration of these buildings.

Colm & family have been restoring stone houses in the area since 2001: this is the jewel! We have managed to bring back three house in the area with the continuous help of international volunteers who have all had their imprint and ideas. This house is ideal for lovers of nature, wildlife, peace & tranquility, and particularly suitable for those who don't mind the 300-metre walk, or who don't mind feeding the wood-burning stove with wood during the winter.

Staying here is like going back in time.

We have done our best to retain the original features which make Paladini unique, including all the old chestnut wood, and exposed stone. But the uniqueness is in the location: far away from roads and cars, on an ancient medieval road the house feels a million miles away from the modern world, and yet Castiglione and Chiozza villages are just a short walk away.
