Clean and peaceful
You can hear Paradise Creek from the back. Beautiful location,secluded- clean and comfortable. Great hospitality!
The property on Palisades Creek was great and the winter landscape was beautiful.
Our family really enjoyed our 3 night stay. The house was very clean and there was plenty of room for the whole family (7 people). We did some cross country skiing up the Palisades Creek trail and warmed up in the hot tub afterwards. The large dining room table and well equipped kitchen were great for family dinners. The stove was somewhat lacking with only one large burner, but it worked out ok. The owners were very accommodating and promptly returned our damage deposit. I would definitely stay here again.
Great vacation rental
This house is a very affordable, very comfortable rental in a great location. We spent three days fishing the South Fork of the Snake, the property is very conveniently located to everything we needed. Very attentive owners also, thank you!
The property is lovely and so very quiet, we enjoyed all of our time there
This unit is very clean and spacious. All the amenities were appreciated and we enjoyed our stay.
Peaceful, clean home in beautiful area
We stayed at the home on Palisades Creek for three nights in July. When we arrived, a lovely welcome basket awaited us, everything was clean, the beds were made up with soft , clean white bedding. The house is situated at the back of a small neighborhood, on a large lot backing up to the creek, although there wasn't access to the creek there. Everything was beautifully maintained. The owners checked several times to see if we needed anything.
We enjoyed the kitchen, two open living areas (one with a large dining table) and used all three bedrooms, as well as both bathrooms, and washer and dryer (in the entry area). We had my husband's parents as well as our six kids with us. The kids enjoyed running around outside, and a brief time in the hot tub. They also enjoyed the large checkers table with wooden checkers in the living area. The master bedroom, with king bed, is situated at one end with a full bathroom. The other two bedrooms and 3/4 bathroom are at the other end of the house. One bedroom had a queen (or double?) as well as a bunk bed, and the other had a queen and a single pull out sofa/chair. The last bed is a couch that pulls out in the dining area.
The area is beautiful, and we wish we could have explored it more. Maybe another time. Nearby, we enjoyed the Palisades creek hiking trail near Palisades campground, a short drive away. The trail runs along the creek and the kids enjoyed wading in the creek where the trail crossed on a bridge. We also made a trip to Teton NP, which was beautiful. We enjoyed a meal at Swan River Roadhouse, and the food was great. There is a gas station in Swan Valley, as well as one just southeast of the turn off for the house from Hwy. 26.
Thank you for the lovely welcome and for sharing your home with us!
Lovely little home on Palisades Creek.
Our family stayed a week in this quaint home nestled at the back of a small neighborhood on Palisades Creek. The house is located in Irwin, ID which is not much of a town, but has great access to all sorts of activities. Jackson, WY is only an hour away, Victor, ID is also a little over an hours drive. Fishing on the Snake River down stream from Palisades Dam is an anglers paradise. I took my family on that float so they could see the Falls Creek Falls and do a little fishing. Other days we drove towards Jackson and put our raft in at he West Table boat launch to float some of my favorite rapids that are great for the entire family. Of course, any trip to the Swan Valley during the summer would not be complete if a visit to Yellowstone wasn't included. Make sure to do any grocery shopping in Idaho Falls on your way because Irwin doesn't have a grocery store. You can get a few things like milk, butter, snacks and some other food items at Husky's (Cheveron) service station.
As far as the house goes, it has everything you need. It's a little dated, but it's cozy. The house clean and well maintained. The rooms are spacious. The house sleeps up to 11 people. The furniture was all new. The kitchen was nice and had pretty much everything you need already in it. Two refrigerators are in the house which was great for stocking up on food and drinks. We loved the bar area around the kitchen island. It was great for chatting it up with the family. The house has two bathrooms. The master bedroom has it's own bathroom with a shower and a large soaking tub. The house has a washer and dryer which is very nice when you have several kids running around. The back deck has a hot tub which was a big hit with kids as well. The Wi-Fi was great and allowed the kids (teenagers) to watch Netflix at night and for everybody to keep in touch with the outside world since our cell phones didn't have any service at the house itself (AT&T). Once we drove down the road a little bit we got 4G. The outside space is really nice. Huge back yard with giant trees. A nice fire pit area to sit around. You can hear the Palisades Creek roaring away when you're outside. All in all, I would recommend this house to anyone planning on staying in the area. The owners were very nice and accommodating as well as easy to get a hold of.
Thank you Joe for such a great review! We are so glad you enjoyed your time in the Swan Valley area. We really worked hard at trying to make sure you would have everything you needed for an enjoyable and comfortable stay in our vacation rental, and it appears that you did (other than cell phone service, dang AT&T) As we are new to the vacation rental business, our goal is to continue to update and improve on our property as much and as quickly as possible. We really appreciate the positive and detailed review of your stay. We hope you will visit us again and please recommend us to your friends and family. It was a pleasure hosting your group.
