Chester's Lodge es una impresionante, contemporánea, ultra cómoda casa de vacaciones de diseño recién construida a solo 300 metros del extremo sur del lago Coniston. La moderna cocina de alta especificación cuenta con electrodomésticos de alta gama y conduce directamente a una increíble área de terraza de 300 pies cuadrados con orientación sur con sofás y tumbonas exteriores, terrenos privados de 1/3 acres y otros 6 acres de terrenos Estate. Más allá, hay una segunda área de terraza donde puedes usar la barbacoa y relajarte y mantenerte caliente alrededor de la fogata. Five Star Lodge

The directions to Chesters Lodge were easy to follow. The property is in a beautiful setting and the interior of this upside down house is of high quality. Lots of space for 2 adults and 5 grandkids to relax and play with the lake nearby and Coniston, Ambleside and Windermere a short car journey away. Highly recommend a stay here.

Amazing stay! The house is fabulous and has all you will need for a wonderful stay. The showers are incredible and beds are comfortable which is perfect after long walks! The internet at times can be a little slow but wasn’t a problem! Would recommend to others and will be back!

Fabulous

Chester Lodge is fantastic, in fact the pictures don’t do it justice. Showers are excellent, with good water pressure. Lots of tech features, lighting, sound speakers etc. Good base for exploring, with lovely walks and views. We had glorious weather, the wet gear did not come out once :) Sarah was very responsive to any questions we had. Would highly recommend, we hope to return at some point.

Beautiful lodge, tranquil area

We really enjoyed our peaceful days here. The host was superbly responsive and gracious. The lodging was clean, spacious, comfortable. The only critique we had was that the upstairs floors creak very loudly when someone is walking on them. Not an issue for most, but consider if you have early risers + late / light sleepers within your group (creak is loud in downstairs bedrooms). Absolutely would stay here again.

Stunning Lake District Lodge

Four adults stayed at Chester’s Lodge for a week aged from late 50’s to late 60’s. The Lodge is very luxurious with every amenity that you are likely to need, situated in a peaceful setting relatively close to Lake Coniston. The host Sarah is very quick to respond to queries and questions. This was our second visit and I am sure we will return again.

Superb house stay

Amazing house nestling in a small development. It’s upside down, with bedrooms below and a large open plan area above. Very well equipped kitchen and enough televisions to prevent any arguments about what to watch. Ideal location for exploring the southern lakes. Would recommend boat tour of the lake on the National Trust boat Gondola and the walks around Grizedale Forest (weather permitting!). Swimming in the lake (a short walk away) is a treat for those who like cold water and there is also the possibility of a canoe trip to the Swallows and Amazons island. All in all a memorable stay in a great house in a wonderful location. Highly recommended.

Wish it had wheels!

Amazing lodge that we would like to put on wheels and take with us on future adventures. Beautiful location. We had daily sheep visits and even an owl made an appearance on our last evening. All the mod cons. Drying room very useful. Showers were lovely. We had a slight issue with the internet connection (network provider) and Sarah and Steven responded extremely quickly and were on the case sorting it out, which was very much appreciated. We had an amazing week. The weather wasn’t great but didn’t stop us. At the end of the day it was comforting to know we were going back to the lovely lodge.

Perfect retreat

This property was well designed and appointed and is the perfect place for a family or friends gathering. It was quiet and private and has a great fire pit to gather around! We will definitely recommend it to others.

Fabulous house in a superb setting

Fabulous, but OTT! It took us most of the week to work out how to work the hob! Bluetooth for our phone was way beyond us. Very comfortable beds. Lots of space upstairs, but a creaky floor to disturb anyone having a lie-in. 4* because freezer was iced up, and Dyson hadn't been emptied when we arrived.

Wonderful Stay

We so enjoyed the week we spent at Chester's Lodge. The property was immaculate and we were blessed with fine weather which enabled us to enjoy the the outside areas. The communication with the owners was first rate as they were able to check out the proposed road closures on the road almost immediately by the entrance to the property grounds. #It was unfortunate that there was a constant noise from a generator supplying the electricity to the other properties following the storms last year but this was beyond the control of the owners and, to be honest, it was just 'white noise' after a while. The Lodge is within walking distance of Coniston Water and we enjoyed swimming in the Lake on a number of days. The Lodge is very well equipped in terms of storage, cooking facilities etc. although we didn't notice the second fridge (in the Utility Room) until Day 2 (I really need to get my eyes tested!) As the weather was so good we didn't really take advantage of the different seating areas upstairs but the feeling of space was wonderful and the bedrooms were very comfortable.

Absolutely fantastic property in a beautiful part of the lakes. Everything was clean, modern and well considered with plenty of room for everyone. Communication from the owner was great and I would recommend this place for anyone to stay.

Beautiful property, flawed experience

The property is beautiful with high quality fixtures and fittings in a quiet rural location. Pillows on the beds were dreadful and there was limited towels (1 per person). There was a generator droning away continuously during our stay. This was obviously there for a reason but spoiled the peaceful location when sitting outdoors. Everywhere you looked there was a sign that you “must do” something. Clean the alcove in the shower after use, strip the beds, don’t do this, don’t do that. Plus check in was 16:00 but check out was 10:00 giving 6 hours to clean even though you had to strip the bed, out towels in a bag, clean all surfaces down, make sure the dish washer was empty. I love to stay and quality accommodations but the rules here were ridiculous and I wouldn’t recommend it just based on that. Go elsewhere is my advice.

Fantastic house in an amazing location

This house has everything you could wish for. Not only is it brilliantly designed and specified to a very high standard, it also sits beside the lake and the amount of glass in the property makes you feel at times like you are in the woods themselves. The property is beautiful equipped, very comfortable and welcoming.
