If you've ever seen Tiny House Nation and thought you would like to experience one, then here is your chance. My tiny house isn't on wheels, but is a small, modern cottage tucked underneath a huge magnolia tree in my backyard. And just under 300 sqft, it roomier than it sounds. Located in a quiet, historic neighborhood that is a super close bike ride to beaches (-2.5 miles) and about a 10 minute drive to downtown Charleston, SC – or if you are adventurous, you can bike to downtown ( approx 7 miles) and catch the spectacular view over the Ravenel Bridge!

About Cristina Young
I'm a native Charlestonian and my Charleston lineage goes way back to the 17th Century. I have lived in Mount Pleasant for most of my life – grade school through high school. I went to Ringling College of Art + Design in Sarasota, Florida. I own a freelance graphic design business and work out of my house. I love to surf, paddleboard and go boating – anything that has to do with water. I'm also an avid road-biker and tennis player.
Cristina Young purchased this Cottage in 2015
Why Cristina Young chose Old Village
The rental is in my backyard and is surrounded by beautiful live oaks and magnolia trees. It's located in the oldest neighborhood in Mt. Pleasant and only a few blocks from the historic neighborhood called the "Old Village". There you will find quaint shops, restaurant, an awesome wine cafe that has wine tastings a couple nights a week, and old Pitt Street Pharmacy – old timey Soda Fountain. This is a great area to ride bikes around and check out all the old houses - some dating from the 1700s, and enjoy the sunsets on the harbor from the Pitt Street Bridge that's a quick bike ride through the neighborhood. I know a lot about Charleston and the surrounding areas from the best places to eat to the best places to find free parking in downtown. During your stay, if you're interested, I can give you pointers and steer you in the right direction if you're visiting for the first time.
What makes this Cottage unique
This is a cozy tiny house with a nice Zen feeling. Everything is new from the kitchen sink to the appliances to the flooring. It has a mini split AC and heating unit along with a ceiling fan so you will stay cool and comfy in the summer and warm and toasty in the winter (even though our winters here don't get much below 50°), and It's quite roomy considering it's just under 300 square feet. It's also very convenient to downtown Charleston and the beaches – and so easy to bike to the beach or walk to several restaurants a few blocks away. There are 2 grocery stores less than half a mile away, Whole Foods is about 3 miles away, and a great place to get a facial or massage just down the street. Also, If you need to do a small load of laundry, I have a washer/dryer that will be available to you if requested.

The tiny house was adorable and Cristina provided us with everything we would possibly need. It was also in the perfect location, very close to mount pleasant and Sullivan’s island!
Spent a couple of days in this tiny house with my teen daughter. It was immaculately clean, bright and comfortable. Host was wonderful to work with. Can not wait to go back.
the perfect place to stay
private, clean, what you need and with the convenience of being close to sullivan’s island and downtown charleston. we will only stay here upon returning to charleston!
Perfect location for a Charleston Trip
We really loved our stay in the tiny house. The yard and house were beautiful and clean. We thought the ladder might be an issue as we knew we'd be having late nights but it really wasn't at all! It's not a far climb and it was actually fun to be up there. Christina was so sweet and accomadating and left us all the essentials in the house.
The location is what really sets this place apart, we were 3 miles from Sullivans beach, which we biked to using Christina's bikes in less than 20 minutes. We took the ferry downtown and we took a cab to Boone Plantation. Nothing was further than a few miles away it was wonderful. I would recommend the tiny house to anyone visiting Charleston!
Thanks so much, Anne. I'm so happy y'all had a nice time, and thanks for the stellar review. Hope y'all come again!
Tiny House is just lovely. We did spend most of our time away, except for evenings. The snacks, linens and other stocked items were just right. A few more items for cooking in the kitchen would be helpful and maybe a few tips on how to use the different TV options. Overall, we had a wonderful experience!
Thank you so much for a comfortable and cozy night! The bananas and granola bars were such a nice surprise! It saved us from having to go out for breakfast before heading to the Yorktown for our Cub Scout trip. A great time saver! Thank you! Amanda & Sam
Located in the Old Village of Mount Pleasant where some houses date back from the 1700s. The barrier island are easily accessed from the location via car or bike. Beaches are less than 2.5 miles and historic downtown Charleston is less than 7 miles. You can easily bike to beach or downtown using bike paths and bike lanes. There is also a water taxi from Patriot's Point to downtown that is about 4 miles away. Beautiful Shem Creek is less than a mile from property. Great place to rent a paddle board or kayak and enjoy dolphins feeding around the shrimp boats, or just visit a creekside bar and enjoy amazing sunset views.
