If you've ever seen Tiny House Nation and thought you would like to experience one, then here is your chance. My tiny house isn't on wheels, but is a small, modern cottage tucked underneath a huge magnolia tree in my backyard. And just under 300 sqft, it roomier than it sounds. Located in a quiet, historic neighborhood that is a super close bike ride to beaches (-2.5 miles) and about a 10 minute drive to downtown Charleston, SC – or if you are adventurous, you can bike to downtown ( approx 7 miles) and catch the spectacular view over the Ravenel Bridge!

About Cristina Young
I'm a native Charlestonian and my Charleston lineage goes way back to the 17th Century. I have lived in Mount Pleasant for most of my life – grade school through high school. I went to Ringling College of Art + Design in Sarasota, Florida. I own a freelance graphic design business and work out of my house. I love to surf, paddleboard and go boating – anything that has to do with water. I'm also an avid road-biker and tennis player.
Cristina Young purchased this Cottage in 2015
Why Cristina Young chose Old Village
The rental is in my backyard and is surrounded by beautiful live oaks and magnolia trees. It's located in the oldest neighborhood in Mt. Pleasant and only a few blocks from the historic neighborhood called the "Old Village". There you will find quaint shops, restaurant, an awesome wine cafe that has wine tastings a couple nights a week, and old Pitt Street Pharmacy – old timey Soda Fountain. This is a great area to ride bikes around and check out all the old houses - some dating from the 1700s, and enjoy the sunsets on the harbor from the Pitt Street Bridge that's a quick bike ride through the neighborhood. I know a lot about Charleston and the surrounding areas from the best places to eat to the best places to find free parking in downtown. During your stay, if you're interested, I can give you pointers and steer you in the right direction if you're visiting for the first time.
What makes this Cottage unique
This is a cozy tiny house with a nice Zen feeling. Everything is new from the kitchen sink to the appliances to the flooring. It has a mini split AC and heating unit along with a ceiling fan so you will stay cool and comfy in the summer and warm and toasty in the winter (even though our winters here don't get much below 50°), and It's quite roomy considering it's just under 300 square feet. It's also very convenient to downtown Charleston and the beaches – and so easy to bike to the beach or walk to several restaurants a few blocks away. There are 2 grocery stores less than half a mile away, Whole Foods is about 3 miles away, and a great place to get a facial or massage just down the street. Also, If you need to do a small load of laundry, I have a washer/dryer that will be available to you if requested.

This tiny house was awesome. Great location. More spacious than you think. We will definitely be back. Try it. I guarantee you will like it. See you next time, Cristina.
Great! A wonderful place to stay.
Clean, comfortable, quiet, and just an overall great place to stay on vacation.
Cozy tiny house, perfect distance to downtown.
We came for our 5 year anniversary and this tiny house was perfect! Close to downtown and Boone Hall Plantation. Tons of places to eat right around the house but on a quiet street. The tiny house was very clean and had some staples in the cupboards if you wanted to cook something. The TV had Netflix which was nice after long days of exploring downtown and nearby plantations. We highly recommend this place and will be telling all our family and friends!
Loved my tiny house experience!
Perfect place to stay while in town. Well-appointed and cozy
If you’ve ever had any desire to experience a tiny house, this one certainly does not dissapoint! The house is cute and quaint. Location is great, right in the heart of Mount Pleasant and close to all things Charleston! We LOVED having access to the bikes to explore the area! I highly recommend this tiny house and we hope to return in the future!!
This was our first experience in a tiny house. It was clean, comfortable, and cozy – not to mention quiet! Christina kept us updated on the details of our visit (parking, access, etc.) several days in advance of our travels, which was very helpful. The location was close enough to be a quick drive from downtown or the beach as well as the dining and shopping on Shem Creek.
For those looking for a tiny house experience, we recommend! (And the furry feline greeters are nice too!)
Located in the Old Village of Mount Pleasant where some houses date back from the 1700s. The barrier island are easily accessed from the location via car or bike. Beaches are less than 2.5 miles and historic downtown Charleston is less than 7 miles. You can easily bike to beach or downtown using bike paths and bike lanes. There is also a water taxi from Patriot's Point to downtown that is about 4 miles away. Beautiful Shem Creek is less than a mile from property. Great place to rent a paddle board or kayak and enjoy dolphins feeding around the shrimp boats, or just visit a creekside bar and enjoy amazing sunset views.
