If you've ever seen Tiny House Nation and thought you would like to experience one, then here is your chance. My tiny house isn't on wheels, but is a small, modern cottage tucked underneath a huge magnolia tree in my backyard. And just under 300 sqft, it roomier than it sounds. Located in a quiet, historic neighborhood that is a super close bike ride to beaches (-2.5 miles) and about a 10 minute drive to downtown Charleston, SC – or if you are adventurous, you can bike to downtown ( approx 7 miles) and catch the spectacular view over the Ravenel Bridge!

About Cristina Young
I'm a native Charlestonian and my Charleston lineage goes way back to the 17th Century. I have lived in Mount Pleasant for most of my life – grade school through high school. I went to Ringling College of Art + Design in Sarasota, Florida. I own a freelance graphic design business and work out of my house. I love to surf, paddleboard and go boating – anything that has to do with water. I'm also an avid road-biker and tennis player.
Cristina Young purchased this Cottage in 2015
Why Cristina Young chose Old Village
The rental is in my backyard and is surrounded by beautiful live oaks and magnolia trees. It's located in the oldest neighborhood in Mt. Pleasant and only a few blocks from the historic neighborhood called the "Old Village". There you will find quaint shops, restaurant, an awesome wine cafe that has wine tastings a couple nights a week, and old Pitt Street Pharmacy – old timey Soda Fountain. This is a great area to ride bikes around and check out all the old houses - some dating from the 1700s, and enjoy the sunsets on the harbor from the Pitt Street Bridge that's a quick bike ride through the neighborhood. I know a lot about Charleston and the surrounding areas from the best places to eat to the best places to find free parking in downtown. During your stay, if you're interested, I can give you pointers and steer you in the right direction if you're visiting for the first time.
What makes this Cottage unique
This is a cozy tiny house with a nice Zen feeling. Everything is new from the kitchen sink to the appliances to the flooring. It has a mini split AC and heating unit along with a ceiling fan so you will stay cool and comfy in the summer and warm and toasty in the winter (even though our winters here don't get much below 50°), and It's quite roomy considering it's just under 300 square feet. It's also very convenient to downtown Charleston and the beaches – and so easy to bike to the beach or walk to several restaurants a few blocks away. There are 2 grocery stores less than half a mile away, Whole Foods is about 3 miles away, and a great place to get a facial or massage just down the street. Also, If you need to do a small load of laundry, I have a washer/dryer that will be available to you if requested.

Thank you so much for a comfortable and cozy night! The bananas and granola bars were such a nice surprise! It saved us from having to go out for breakfast before heading to the Yorktown for our Cub Scout trip. A great time saver! Thank you! Amanda & Sam
This house was perfect for a weekend getaway. Immaculately clean, charming, and just wonderful! Thank you!
AWESOME tiny house!!
It was plenty of space for my husband and I... so clean...so cute! It is perfectly located in a very nice, residential area, but minutes from the beach, shopping and restaurants. Navigating a ladder to get cozied into the loft bed was fun! We definitely recommend the Tiny Cottage!
My husband and I stayed for our anniversary. It was perfect! Super clean and had everything we needed. Great location.
A lovely little cottage
We really enjoyed our stay in your beautifully-appointed, comfortable cottage. We appreciated the location, which was close to everywhere we wanted to be. You even thought of fresh fruit and cream for my coffee, small touches that made a big impression. Thank you for being such a thoughtful, respectful hostess!
Cute, clean, and stocked with essentials
We loved our stay in the tiny house! This was our first time staying in a tiny house and surprisingly it felt just as spacious as a hotel room but had the benefit of a kitchen and a full sized refrigerator. Everything was very clean and modern. The bed was comfortable and the loft area has plenty of space for getting in and out of bed. The shower is on the small side, a bit like a cruise ship shower. But overall, this place is in a wonderful location and is super cute and clean. If we ever find ourselves in the Mt Pleasant area again we would definitely choose to stay here.
Thanks Jamie! Loved having you guys. Your more than welcome to come back again,
Located in the Old Village of Mount Pleasant where some houses date back from the 1700s. The barrier island are easily accessed from the location via car or bike. Beaches are less than 2.5 miles and historic downtown Charleston is less than 7 miles. You can easily bike to beach or downtown using bike paths and bike lanes. There is also a water taxi from Patriot's Point to downtown that is about 4 miles away. Beautiful Shem Creek is less than a mile from property. Great place to rent a paddle board or kayak and enjoy dolphins feeding around the shrimp boats, or just visit a creekside bar and enjoy amazing sunset views.
