Our GARDEN COTTAGE is a quaint, newly renoveated home in the middle of all the famous attractions that draw people to Newport; the beautifully landscaped MANSIONS along BELLEVUE AVENUE, the unmatched beauty of our CLIFF WALK and our 10 MILE OCEAN DRIVE, down the street is a small private beach available to walkers, swimmers and sun bathers. I have always loved Newport and have found it amazingly beautiful, relaxing and exciting. Newport was listed on ABC GOOD MORNING AMERICA as one of the 10 MOST BEAUTIFUL PLACES IN AMERICA. ALMY COTTAGE allows you the choice of cooking your own meals or dining out in one of our many wonderful area restaurants. The Cottage has three bedrooms, two on the first floor - both with queen-sized beds and a large master bedroom on the second floor with a king-size bed. There are full bathrooms on both the first and second floor. The second floor has views of ALMY POND along with some of Newport's mansions. This Cottage is rented by the month during the seasons of Spring, Summer and Fall. If you are looking for something smaller, please see our other property at VRBO # 19140.

The BEACH, the CLIFF WALK, the MANSIONS and SALVE REGINA UNIVERSITY CAMPUS are all within two blocks of us. DOWNTOWN NEWPORT is 1 mile to the north.
Conveniently located for you to enjoy the summer's annual NEWPORT MUSIC FESTIVAL, NEWPORT JAZZ AND FOLK FESTIVALS. Stay with us, ride your bikes and avoid the traffic. Come and surf, swim, fish, bike, paddle board, sail or just relax. Just spending the day sitting on the rocks by the water on the Cliff Walk or Ocean Drive can be a delightfully, relaxing experience.

Enjoy our beautiful yard. Also, we have an outdoor porch with a grill for your cookouts. Sleep peacefully in our quiet location when you return from your escapades each evening.

Great house in a great location!

This cozy house is just a short walk from some of Newport's nicest beaches. It is clean, well furnished, has all the amenities one could want, and is located in a quiet and friendly neighborhood. We stayed for six weeks and it truly became our home away from home!

Charming Cottage by the Sea

My family enjoyed a wonderful stay at this charming cottage that is walking distance to one of the best and quietest beaches in Newport. You're also within reach of the Bellevue Ave mansions and cliff walk without being stuck with the crowds. The home comes well equipped and the owners are very responsive to whatever it is you may need. If you are looking to take advantage of all that Newport has to offer, this is a great place to call home.

This is the story of our mom, Marie Puerini. She passed away on December 14, 2017. With deep appreciation and love for her classy style we hope to carry on for her.
Here is her story:
'My sister was many years my senior and was already living in Newport when I was born. Needless to say, Newport was a completely different town when I was growing up; smaller, less inhabited, no tourists, no restaurants, few stores, no style, and lots of handsome Navy men. As a little girl, I came on weekends with my mother and fell in love with the town. Many years later I bought my first house here, gathered my children and never looked back. My youngest son wanted to open a small restaurant when he was 19 years old, so I left a very successful business and we became partners. That was 36 years ago, and the restaurant, now called Ida's,, became very successful.'

What makes this property unique

Our home and our Garden Apartment are on Almy Court, with views from the second floors that encompass the ocean and Almy Pond. My mom chose this house by driving by one day many years ago and falling in love with it. It is a quiet area, lovely for walking. Just a few blocks down is Reject Beach, open to the public. It is part of Bailey's Beach, which is a private beach for the 'Summer Set'.
