Spacious, Well Appointed Home
This Golf Villas home was a perfect home base for our adventures on the Big Island. The four of us (parents, 18 yo boy, and 16 yo boy) each had plenty of space of our own in this lovely villa. The garage held extra equipment for beach adventures, including a great cooler and a volleyball (there were also multiple sets of fins and snorkel gear and other items), there were plenty of beach towels, and the kitchen had every pot, pan, and utensil we could have needed. The A/C and ceiling fans were a plus and worked well to keep us cool when we were home (which wasn't often as we put over 1,000 miles on our rental Jeep exploring). The only thing that wasn't perfect was the washer, which was temperamental and not completely reliable (but may have been fixed by the time anyone reads this). The market in Mauna Lani was well supplied, but a bit small. Never fear - Kailua-Kona is about a 30 minute drive and there is a Costco, Walmart, and Target as well as several large grocery stores to fulfill all your vacation food and other shopping needs. We would recommend the book Hawaii: Revealed for great advice on exploring the island and the Gypsy Guide app, an audio guide that works with your phone's GPS (so no data - but don't forget a car charger as location services will bleed your phone battery dry) to provide a running wealth of information about landmarks and other items you may drive to or by. We had great meals at Kona Brewing Co. in Kailua-Kona, Cafe Pesto in Hilo, and Lava Lava Beach Club just down the road in Waikoloa Village - and don't miss any spots that serve Tropical Dreams ice cream (in Hawi, in Kailua-Kona, and in Kealakekua). We explored Volcanoes Natl Park (don't miss the Petroglpyhs Trail), played golf at Mauna Kea, found the King Kamehameha statues in Hawi and Hilo, went to Honoli'i Beach Park to watch the surfers (it's a black sand beach), climbed down to Pololu Valley Beach (bring your hiking shoes), accidentally visited a nudist beach (Kehena Beach), and went to the youngest land in the world (Isaac Hale Beach Park, a black sand beach that developed after the 2018 volcanic eruptions), among other adventures (we snorkeled, too). All while enjoying the hospitality of #C5 at the Golf VIllas. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone!
Loved the property. Great location. Only complaint is place needs new pots and pans and new boogey boards. All ocean equipment was torn or broke
It is a great place and location! I am so sorry to hear about the ocean equipment and the pots and pans, we just bought new chairs and snorkel sets (Adults). I wish you reached out during your stay so we could have replaced what was needed. We will get those items replaced immediately. Thank you for staying with us.
Amazing and PERFECT!!!
This villa was amazing. It was perfect for our 7 day stay. The access to the private beaches was perfect for our family. They were within 4-5 mins from villa and hardly anyone was there. Good snorkeling at both. Amy the owner was always a short text or call away with anything we needed. I strongly suggest using this villa for any plans to stay in the area. Thank you Amy so much for making our stay seamless.
We had a wonderful time and enjoyed all the amenities. Very nice to have the beach supplies including a little cooler and ice packs in the freezer, beach towels and snorkeling supplies.
Great location everything you would need loved the bikes
New bedding is needed in both the master and secondary bedroom with on suite upstairs we had quite the battle with ants centipedes and roaches made it work seemed like home they have raised their rates’ and I feel now it is overpriced for the value the carpets needed cleaning desperately
Mauna Lani Resort is located on the Kohala Coast, Big Island Hawaii. Perfect location, surrounded around black and white sand beaches. Restaurants of all ethnicity and a sunset to have the ultimate relaxation possible.
