We loved the location for our family reunion. Easy to get to beaches and short drive to the center of Newport or up north. We had a wonderful time and enjoyed sitting in the great room, watching the tides and changes of weather, relaxing, or playing games. Very comfortable and clean home, and well stocked kitchen. Thanks for letting us use it!

We travel often with our family of six and this was one of the best stays! Comfortable beds, plenty of space, very clean. Perfect amount of extras provided. Having the private walkway to the beach was wonderful. The location of this property is close to all the good coastal stops and is in a spot the feels tucked away. We would stay here again! We enjoyed everything about our stay. The host was quick to respond to questions, the house and linens were very clean, and the kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, etc. The private path down to the beach was steep but well maintained. The great/family room upstairs with enormous couch was a great place to relax and watch football in the evening. The wood/gas stove in the living room near the kitch was very cozy and inviting after a cool evening on the beach. And, the photo album showing the family history and the home being built was a nice touch. It felt like someone's home, not a rental, and we would stay there again.

Breathtaking views and convenient beach access with the private path right out the door. Very comfortable home with well stocked kitchen. Would absolutely recommend this vacation home!

We had a great time at this beautiful location - 5 adults and three kids. Two kids shared one bedroom and the third slept on an air bed that we brought. He slept in the upstairs living area and was very happy. The kitchen worked well and had lots of pots, pans, and dishes. We used some of the beach equipment we found downstairs. The games cupboard was fun for everyone, especially the kids ages 12, 9, and 6. The location is great - quick drive to anywhere in Newport, Nye Beach, Fred Meyer. We walked to the beach using the steps from the deck and the trail or by going to the Starfish Inn nearby and walking down the steps from there. The weather was amazing and all the streaming services were nice for the one movie night we had. This home base let us explore in various groups and combinations and had something for everyone.

Clean, well-maintained, comfortable beds, nicely-decorated, well-stocked kitchen for cooking. Loved the path down to the beach and the big windows in the upstairs family room.

From the shore that the house is on, there's a little beach, but if you're willing to wade through a shallow creek of freshwater, you can get to real beach with waves and great views. This is from the near shore.

Perfect vacation!

Mary Jo is an amazing host and decorator! The house was perfect for two families with teenagers. Loved the beach and quiet neighborhood. We will be back!

Great property

We had an awesome stay. The house setup has one Queen and a twin bedroom with walk in shower. Beautiful views and the grandchildren loved the path to the beach.

We LOVED our stay at this beach house!

It was perfect for 6 adults and 2 children. Great décor, comfy, clean and spacious! Nice view and the short trail to the beach was well maintained - everyone in our party made it up and down with no complaints. I would definitely rent this property again.

Spring Break

We’ve come to Newport for the last 7 years during spring break. Of all the places we’ve stayed over the years, this was absolutely our favorite. The spaces we had to play games together, watch movies together, and the path down to the beach made this property absolutely perfect for our family. Can’t wait to come back again.

My husband and I stayed for the entire month of July at this property and it was fantastic. The location is amazing, convenient to Agate Beach and a nice walk to the Yaquina Head Lighthouse. We never tired of things to do. You can walk down the beach to Nye Beach and have lunch there and then walk back. Or just watch surfers fron the windows or the deck. If anything, the pictures of the house don’t capture how nice it is. It has a lovely view perched among Douglas Fir trees with the Ocean beyond. It is incredibly peaceful. The house is very well stocked the towels, linens and the bedding are great and the four bedrooms among the two levels give great privacy. We had a couple of different sets of guests at different times throughout our stay and the set up was perfect. Perhaps the best thing is how wonderful Mary Jo is to work with. If you need anything you just have to contact her and she responds instantly and assists you immediately. As has been mentioned by others the path to the beach from the house is a bit steep in parts for those of us in our 70s, however, I did it and up againtoo, but if you want an easier path there is one not far north at the Ernest Bloch wayside. Which is fun too, or you can access at the public beach that surfers use by the Agate Beach Motel. The house is just a very short drive to all the amenities and shopping in Newport so easy to get groceries or go to the Bayfront for seafood. Don’t hesitate. Rent this property if you love the Oregon Coast!

Great House!

House was perfect for our weekend escape! We enjoyed the super big couch & spacious room upstairs for playing cards & Mario Kart. Loved the double sliding glass doors, we could hear the ocean & provided a nice breeze. Thank you for keeping the kitchen stocked & providing above what I expected.

I co-own this house with my brother. We built this house on property that has been owned by our family for close to 100 years. I manage the rentals of our beach home because we want to have a connection with the people that stay here. We hope you will enjoy your time at the beach as much as we do. We also hope you will recognize it is our home and treat it as you would your own.

この宿泊施設のオーナーになった理由

My brother Kirk and I co-own this home together. We built the house in 1993. Our grandparents had a house here where they spent the summers from the time our mother was a baby until the house burned down during the 1940's. My grandparents didn't rebuild a the house and left the property to our Mother. She gave us this beautiful beach front property and her blessing to build a home for our children to enjoy as much as she did as a child.

There are very few houses in the Agate Beach area that have their own path to the beach. We do sit up on a hill so the path is a bit steep and not for everyone. We do our best to maintain the path while keeping it hidden from public view. We have a beautiful view of the beach and are somewhat protected from the winds. The two living areas make a great place for the adults to enjoy conversation while the kids can be upstairs with a movie or games.
