Set in the Serra de Monchique hills, Villa Casa Estrelicia is surrounded by pine, eucalyptus and cork trees. And the views seem to go on forever – on a clear day even the coast can be glimpsed. There’s no shortage of quiet spots to relax at this villa. The dining terrace extends right round the side of the house, with steps leading down to the pool.

The swimming pool at Villa Casa Estrelicia is sunk into a tiled terrace stocked with loungers and parasols. In front of the pool, the hillside dips down into sweeping views of the countryside.

A wood-burning stove set into a stone fireplace gives a homely feel to the open-plan dining and living area, a spacious area with comfy sofas. And two sets of French windows lead onto the lovely dining terrace. The kitchenette at Villa Casa Estrelicia serves up a good-sized cooker, microwave and fridge-freezer. Meanwhile, a barbecue weighs anchor outside.

This house is spacious, comfortable and pleasant. View stunning, very quiet area on mountainside. Nice terrace and pool, sun all day. Definitely hope to visit again.

Holiday near Monchique

We had a lovely two weeks in this property. The view was spectacular, the outside areas and pool were great with the balcony comfortable and shady. Inside the house felt spacious and the kitchen well equipped. Lots to do within an easy drive. We found Portugal good value for money with great food and friendly people, we will return.

We had a great winter-time hiking vacation here and it was perfect for us. Although you can get some rain here in December, we got some beautiful sunny days and it's close enough to the coast to take a day trip to the ocean. The house was spacious with a fully equipped kitchen (complete with dishwasher and clothes washer). Heat in the winter is via a main room fireplace (which we didn't use) and electric radiator heaters in each bedroom. With the warm quilts on each bed, it was comfortable. The setting is extremely private, rural, and surrounded by beautiful cork forests. As with anything in this area, expect twisty narrow roads... But in December at least we rarely passed anyone else on the road. The house would really shine in the summer though as that pool and outdoor dining spot looked great and has a jaw-dropping view!

The road to the house is a challenge, but once you are there the view is spectacular. We very much enjoyed the house which is convenient, all equipment is available, clean and nice pool. Some basics for cooking like salt, peper, oil, tea would make it even better..

The Equipment of the House is very very old (kitchen, electric devices, Chairs, plates etc.) and should be renewed. Also the beds are very old and mattresses very hard. It would also have been nice to have a sufficient amount of toilet paper or trash bags. The House itself and the view are nice.

Peaceful with great views

Lovely place, (takes a little finding) tucked away with stunning views out to the sea. Would highly recommend this place if you want a little time to relax. Just a little FYI, take everything, there is nothing supplied, obviously towels & bedding are, but nothing else. I don't know if this is norm but we've stayed in many VRBO homes and this is the 1st without salt & pepper or only 1 loo roll 😆 (Intermarché in Monchique is excellent) However, don't let that put you off it's well worth it.

Schönes Haus in toller Lage mit traumhaftem Blick in Richtung Meer. Einrichtung ist etwas älter, aber passt zum Stil des Hauses. Im Februar bei niedrigeren Temperaturen war es etwas anspruchsvoll, die Räume warm zu bekommen und die Feuchtigkeit zu vertreiben, trotz der bereitgestellten mobilen Radiatoren und des Brennholzes für die tolle Heizkassette.Wir können das Haus aber auf jeden Fall empfehlen, vielleicht bei mindestens 5 Grad höherer Temperatur.

Sehr schöne Lage, wenn man dem Trubel an der Küste entkommen möchte. Das Haus ist geräumig und gut ausgestattet und das WLAN funktionierte gut. Die Küche könnte etwas sauberer sein, ansonsten war alles in Ordnung. Von der überdachten Terrasse aus hat man einen wundervollen Blick, der bei klarem Wetter bis zur Küste reicht. Die Vermieter sind freundlich und reagieren schnell, wenn man ein Anliegen hat – vielen Dank Vrank für die schnelle Hilfe.

Prachtig gelegen vakantiehuis

Genoten van een heerlijk huis met prachtig uitzicht en zwembad. Heerlijke omgeving om tot rust te komen, maar ook gemakkelijk te rijden richting de kust. Houtkachel en bbq aanwezig met voldoende haardhout. Vaatwasser en wasmachine waren top. De matrassen waren wel allemaal erg hard waar wij allen last van hadden. We vonden het jammer dat we de eigenaar niet hebben gezien of gesproken. Verder een heerlijke week gahad.

Mooie locatie met fantastisch uitzicht

Beetje gedateerd. Er is wifi en je krijgt de tekentjes maar het werkt niet. Dat is zo volgens de eigenaar. Slechte ontvangst. De douchekoppen zijn oud en er komt weinig water door. Er is geen centrale verwarming alleen een openhaard wat niet erg is in de zomer maar de twee losse elektrische kacheltjes zijn in de winter onvoldoende. Maar het uitzicht maakt alles goed. Wij hebben ondanks het frisse weer een leuk lang weekend gehad.
