Villa CHRISANTHI is located In Kefalonia In Crizata small village 3km away from Sami small port where you can find good restaurants, harbour side cafe ,bars & tavernas,, shopping (fresh fish, fruit markets) ,pharmasy,etc
Its almost new (COMPLETED SEPTEMBER 2011) and HAS BEEN RECENTLY RENOVATED ,its set in a key unspoilt location of Kefalonia has unique style and quality and superb panoramic views of the country side.There is a also a brand new private swimming pool 8,40 m long x 4,20 m wide. For safety reasons the swimming pooli is gated and it is located in a different level from the villa.There are 6 sunbeds and 2 large umbrellas on the pool area.
Villa Chrisanthi covers an area of 88 m2 set over 2 floors with 2 bathrooms.. The ground floor comprises of an open-plan airconditioned kitchen / living / dining area with patio doors leading to a veranda.An other family bathroom with a shower enclosure is situated on the ground floor
The first floor accommodates 2 large airconditioned bedrooms with one double bed and 2 twins beds with fitted wardrobes leading to a large balcony and a family bathroom with a washing machine. Designed to accommodate up to 6 people. The luxury kitchen is fully fitted with hob, oven, fridge/freezer, microwave, and coffee maker. The villa has a private gated entrance with space for parking and stone boundary. The position of the villa makes it an ideal destination for those who want to combine their vacation by the sea and the countryside.

The largest of the Ionian Islands, Kefalonia is unspoilt, with a varied, beautiful landscape. The island is very friendly, particularly in Grizata! The beaches are extremely good, the sea usually impossibly blue, particularly on the west coast of the island, and the hospitality in the wealth of tavernas, bars and restaurants is warm & genuine.

Villa Chrisanthi is located right at the edge of the pretty village of Grizata in the exclusive Sami region in the west of Kefalonia. The beautiful views from the front of the villa are of olive groves & cypress trees . Crizata is a small Greek village 3km away from Sami port where you can find good restaurants, harbour side bars & tavernas, internet cafe, shopping (fresh fish, fruit markets) .
Sightseeing :
Antisamos famous beach is only 7km away from the Villa: a spectacular beach surrounded by impressive verdant hills, with turquoise-blue, crystal clear water ideal for snorkelling. Water sports on offer.
Along the coastline Sami - Agia Efimia (3-12 km from the Villa) there are numerous little white pebble coves with crystal clear water, ideal for snorkelling.One of them is Santa Paraskevi , with beach bar and a nice restaurant/taverna by the sea.
A 20 min drive from the villa is the renowned 'Myrtos' Beach (white sand and pebbles, blue-turquoise waters), voted one of the best beaches in the world.It is also one of the most photographed beaches in the world.
Karavomylos lake, 6km from the Villa is another fantastic place with a friendly tavern looking across the sea to Ithaca.
Drogarati Caves, situated about 2,5km from the villa are stalagmatic caves thought to be 150 million years old. The acoustics inside are so good it hosts concerts, where there is room for an audience of 500 people.
Melissani Lake 7 km from the Villa: again situated just outside Sami, is an underground cave with a lake where you can be punted around in a rowing boat. When the sun is overhead around midday it hits the turquoise-blue waters, creating a magical illusion and suddenly filling the cave with blue light.A boat trip on its bluish green water is a wonderful experience
The Ancient Acropolis of Sami and the monastery of Fanendes 6 km from the Villa: with stunning views to ithaka and a lot of pathways ideal for walking and exploring .
Furthermore, you can rent a motorboat in Sami and in Santa Efimia and visit secluded idyllic bays accessible only by boat. A truly unique experience! The Bavarian Horse Riding Stables, about 2 km away from our villa: a completely different way of exploring Kefalonia, by following old donkey trails with wonderful views through olive groves and fruit orchards.
Assos is a tiny village built on a small peninsula, dominated by the ruins of a 16th century Venetian castle. It is situated on the North-West coast, not too far from Myrtos beach,. Fiskardo is a picturesque fishing village situated right at the far North of the island and is one of the few villages not to be destroyed in the earthquake of 1953 (ferries/boat trips to Ithaca/Lefkada sail from here
St Gerassimos Monastery is at the heart of the island and the interior of the church is decorated with breathtaking murals. Saint Gerasimos is the patron Saint of the island and his remains are kept in a small chapel in a silver and glass sarcophagus. The ferry to Zakynthos sails from Pessada, a port situated 3Okm from the Villa. Ferries from Argostoli sail to Lixouri for exploring the island’s western peninsula.

Dimitris was very helpful with the directions and check in procedure, he had provided us with some pastries and wine which was very kind. The villa was clean and had all we needed to enjoy a lovely holiday. The pool was a great size and depth for the children to enjoy. The mid week clean was thorough and didn’t interfere with our plans. Overall a lovely stay with a friendly accommodation host, in a beautiful set villa.

A lovely villa and private pool with mountain views in a quiet village. Dimitris was very helpful throughout our holiday with his local knowledge. The villa was clean with enough space for our family of four. We enjoyed using the outdoor bbq on a few occasions too. The villa was a short drive away from Sami (around 8 minutes) with lots of restaurants and a couple of supermarkets. Gorgeous crystal clear beaches (white pebble) also within 30 minutes away. We loved this unspoilt part of Kefalonia - thank you!

Perfect holiday home

Lovely villa with great outside space and views.Very spacious, clean, comfortable and fully equipped villa. In great location, quiet and peaceful but very close to Sami and great for easy access to visit all around the island. The outside space is amazing and the pool is an added luxury. The owners are extremely helpful and welcoming, nothing is too much trouble. All in all a wonderful place to stay, would recommend 100%.

Fab location with great outdoor area!

The listing description was accurate. The location was great just 5 mins drive from Sami but v quiet with beautiful mountain views. The pool and bbq/terrace area was particularly good. Dimitris was there when we arrived to ensure we knew where everything was and how it all worked (even though it was 1 in the morning). We would definitely recommend to a friend. Kefalonia was beautiful from top to bottom.

We thought the villa was excellent, authentic, secluded, with lots of nice touches. Great pool and view and Dimitris was very helpful and informative. We really like Sami - down at the harbour in the evenings overlooking Ithaca, as well as the many great bathing stops along the coast to Agia Effimia and the tropical atmosphere at Antisanos and swimming with so many fish there. Would definitely recommend this area over Lassi on the other side.

We stayed at this villa for a week in September 2014, villa is beautiful and accurately described on the website. If you want a relaxing peaceful location this is the place to you. The villa is beautifully presented and very well equipped. The pool is lovley, the owner Dimitris was very welcoming and helpful, we would highly recommended this villa to friends and family. Kefalonia is a stunning island, all in all a stunning holiday. You would need to hire a car as the villa is about 3 kilometres to Sami the nearest town. Mr and Mrs Morris Cheshire England

Excellent Home from Home

From opening the doors to our beautiful holiday home we fell in love. Dimitris was a wonderful host who couldn’t do enough for us. We had a slight problem with the shower he got onto it straight away sorted new parts and plumber. Plus a complimentary bottle of wine for the inconvenience. The pool was amazing spent most days around it. The next time we choose Kefalonia for our holiday we will also choose this wonderful house again. Thank you Dimitris.

Relaxing week-long stay

We found Sami a convenient base for exploring the island. We took day trips to Fiscardo and Argostoli, plus to lovely beaches within half an hour drive. The villa and pool were clean, the kitchen well stocked, and the bed was comfortable. We appreciated the dishwasher, which is rare in our experience of Greece. Dimitris quickly responds to any questions and kindly waited for us to check in very late after our first ferry was canceled and then the second ferry delayed. We felt very spoiled to have a spacious house and pool just for ourselves.

Great holiday at Villa Chrisanthi

We had a lovely week at Villa Chrisanthi. Dimitris was there to meet us and explain everything. His gifts were a nice surprise too. The villa had everything we needed for our stay and was very comfortable, also the fly screens were a great idea as my husband reacts badly to bites, so it was good to be able to have the doors open into the evening without worry. We found the position was perfect too for exploring more of the island, however there is a lot very nearby anyway. Loved swimming in the sea at Antisamos beach, the water was so clear and warm. Sami was good too, had several very good value and delicious meals down at the marina and everyone was very friendly. We really loved Kefalonia.

Relax in the countryside

We stayed here with friends and family for the last full week in September. Great location for Sami, country walks, Agia Efimia for Motor boat hire. Made good use of the barbecue and pool. The house is very well appointed and equipped. Very helpful and attentive owner, Dimitri, who also gave us local white wine....delicious! Thanks again Dimitri. One small point....there is an identical house owned by Dimitri next door, so if you want complete isolation this is not the villa for you ( it didn't worry us)

Fantastic holiday in a beautiful location

Dimitris (the owner) was excellent from the time of booking online until our stay at his amazing villa. Dimitris sent us great directions on how to find the villa from the airport and also lots of places and suggestions to eat and visit during our stay. The villa was not difficult to find thanks to his directions and it is set in a very peaceful location, perfect for a relaxing holiday away from the hustle and bustle of life. The villa was immaculate and the photos on VRBO are accurate although do not do the outside space just or as this area around the pool and the balcony area are amazing. We were grateful for the bottle of wine on arrival and the fabulous cream cakes. This was our first visit to Kefalonia which is a truly beautiful island with so much to see and do and we have already started to plan another holiday next year. We wholeheartedly recommend this villa if you want to get away from it all but a car is necessary to get the most from your stay. Thank you Dimitris for being so accommodating and for welcoming us to your beautiful villa and we hope to see you again next year.

Beautiful villa, central location, great host

Villa Chrysanthi is a beautiful, clean, well equipped villa in a lovely, quiet, woodland spot on the edge of Grizata village, yet near to Sami and well situated for exploring all of Kefalonia. We used the swimming pool every day, enjoying the beautiful views and little birds flying across. It was great to have pool towels, as well as bathing towels provided. The communication with the lovely owner, Dimitris, before and during our stay was excellent. He sent recommendations for beaches, trips and local tavernas to help us plan our stay. The bottle of local San Gerasimos wine and big box of delicious pastries from an Argostoli bakery were really thoughtful gifts. We hired a car for the week and enjoyed swimming and snorkelling in crystal clear waters at beaches near Sami and in the north and south of the island. The villa is also a short drive from the spectacular Drogerati Cave and Melissani Lake. Our holiday highlight was a self-drive motor boat trip from nearby Agia Efimia, exploring beautiful, secluded white pebbly coves along the north east coast. A wonderful villa for anyone wanting to explore this beautiful island.

Well equipped villa - perfect for a relaxing stayy.

The villa was very well eqiupped with everything you could need and spotlessly clean. Comfortable beds and good air conditioning, perfect for the quiet get away we were hoping for. The owner, Dimitris, was accommodating and very helpful as our flight arrived late in the evening but he was there to welcome us and provide useful information about the villa, local restaurants, etc. We had one minor issue with no hot water on one day but Dimitris had someone around less than an hour after we called him to fix it and he then turned up a few days later with a bottle of wine as an apology (when it wasn't really needed, but it just showed what a genuinely nice people the owners are). The villa has a slightly larger sister villa right next door so it's not completely out on it's own but we never really noticed the family who were staying there as the villas are separated quite well. Sami is only 5 minuutes drive away and has a few supermarkets for essentials. I would highly recommend this villa.

Great Villa and Lovely holiday

We had a great holiday staying here for 10 nights. We travelled with our two children (4 & 1) and the choice of Villa Zoi was perfect. Before and during our stay Dimitris and Nikki were really friendly and helpful and made our stay even more enjoyable. The Villa is perfect for a family of 4 to stay in. The living area is great, clean, comfortable and had everything we needed including a few toys for the kids. The kitchen was great and again had everything we needed. I really liked the fact that there were a few 'left over ' bits from previous renters such as coffee and herbs/ oil, rather than having to buy everything when we got there. The bedrooms were nicely decorated and clean and the addition if clean sheets mid week was lovely ! The bathroom again was good for us and the washing machine was a godsend with the kids in tow. We chose the villa for the pool and it didn't disappoint, it was fantastic to have it in hand and great that it was gated and therefore safe fir young children. The pool was swept twice a week which kept it looking pristine. Another thing I really appreciated was the lack of ikeaness around the villa, the place felt like a home rather than a rental property which made us feel at home. The wi-fi and technology worked really well. We loved our trip to Kefalonia and would recommend everything we did and the tips from Dimitris and Nikki were invaluable.

Lovely property

We have just returned from a lovely 2 week stay at Villa Chrysanthi. The villa is really well-equipped and clean with everything we needed. It had great views from the balconies and terrace area and the swimming pool was fabulous. We picked up a hire car from the airport and it took us around 50 mins to drive to the villa. What a beautiful scenic drive it was too. The owner Dimitris could not have been more welcoming and helpful. Right from the arrival information to all of the help and advice on the property and places to visit in the surrounding area he was an absolutely excellent host. The cleaners came in every few days as did the pool cleaners. We definitely hope to return one day. The villa is on the outskirts of Grizata and is no more than 10 mins by car to Sami. We found lots of great places to eat there. There is a lovely walk along the sea front from Sami to Karavamilos – it takes about 20-30 mins and is well worth it. We also took the hire car on the ferry from Sami to Ithaca – worth checking with your hire company first that the insurance covers you – ours did at no extra cost. We loved Ithaca so definitely recommend. Sami is also quite central to the island so easy access to most places. Overall a great two weeks and our 8 month old grandsons first holiday abroad – couldn’t have been better. Thanks Dimitris Steve, Angela, Amy, Ben and Ezra

Wonderful villa. Superb views. Very clean

We arrived at our villa last thursday 24th July and was greeted by Dimitris and his wife. The villa was extremely clean and tidy and Dimitris made us feel at home. His wife had baked us a welcome cake and also wine and beers were in the fridge nicely chilled - very welcome after is was touching 35 degrees! We came with our 6 year old and our 18 year old sons. Both loved the pool and facilities. The older one was happy as he could use the WiFi on his phone. Me and my wife used the pool daily and lounged on the poolside baking in the extreme heat. The villa has air conditioning in the main lounge and both bedrooms which is a must! The bbq is huge but we chose to eat out most evenings at various tavernas in Sami and Agia Efimia. The local attractions are closeby including caves and Antisamos beach. Mytros is only 20 - 30 mins away and we went over on our last evening to watch the sunset come down. Truly amazing! You will need a car if you stay here. It is very family orientated Villa, and we looked after it like it was our own. Dimitris works very hard to keep it up to an excellent standard and we were quite sad to leave but it was and is an excellent base to explore the island and I cannot recommend the Villa enough - I am very fussy and like attention to detail and quality - Dimitris is providing an excellent accommodation and service here. We visited Fiscardo, Mytros, Antisamos, Sami, Skala Agia Afimia, and surrounding areas. We ran out of time to visit more of the island! Thanks again Dimitris! Regards John, June, Benjamin and Sam

“Very well presented villa with pool near Sami, Kefalonia” 4 of 5 stars Villa Chrisanthi is very well presented and the owner, Dimitris Rouchotas, was very welcoming. For two to four people the villa is well proportioned, including a spacious terrace with an attractive barbecue, which catches the morning and late afternoon sun, and on a lower level a pool with ample, sunny, poolside space for relaxing. Views from the villa look towards the south and the hillsides around. The neighbouring villa (Zoi, also owned by Dimitris) is a mirror of Chrisanthi and is the only accommodation that prevents absolute total privacy. All windows have fly screens and air conditioning, although during our stay we remained relatively insect free. The lounge has a large television with Astra and Eutelsat satellite tuner, in addition to local terrestrial channels. The harbour town of Sami is 3.5km distant, where there is a range of well stocked shops and harbour front bars / restaurants. Nice to have unlimited free parking! There are no shopping, eating or drinking facilities in Grizata, although there is a small taverna in the next, close by village in the direction of Poros, which we did not try. Dimitris provided us some welcoming provisions and a list of restaurants / tavernas around the island to enjoy. We tried his recommendations in Sami (Il Familia, which we stumbled upon before noting his recommendation), Poros (Pontelis), Aghia Evfimia (Perasma) and Divarata (Alexander). All were very good. We also enjoyed The Village in Skala, a well presented taverna half way up the main street with good food and pleasant service. A car is essential for both local travel to Sami and for island touring. Plenty of fuel stations. The journey from the airport is straightforward, although we found it easy in Argostoli to miss the turns for Sami. Sharp eyes and some imagination required! Kefalonia is very hilly with many mountain-like roads and hairpin bends, one after another. Care is needed. Any changes we would make? A small dishwasher in place of one of the kitchen cupboards would have been nice. Also, a thermostat on the water heater - we had to set the timer on our 'phone to remind us not to leave it on for too long. Overall, highly recommendable for a pleasant stay in green countryside without the burden of heavy commercial tourism.

Unser Aufenthalt war super. Die Villa war super, sehr gut ausgestattet und durch die zentrale Lage alles auf der Insel gut erreichbar. Der Empfang durch Dimitris war sehr herzlich. Der Pool war sauber und wir haben ihn jeden Tag genutzt. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und hoffen, diese Villa wieder bewohnen zu können. Herzliche Grüße Familie Müller

Beautiful Villa

We enjoyed our stay at Chrisanthi Villa very much. It was a bit of a rough start since the Villa is a bit hard to find. The driveway to get there is not obvious. But after we found it we appreciated its isolation. The villa is very well equipped and the kitchen is easy to use and also fully equipped. Demitris was very helpful and communicated with us several times during thestay to see if we needed anything and if everything was working as it should. We enjoyed ourselves and would consider a return visit should we plan another trip to the Ionian Islands.

Why they chose this property

My grandmother Chrisanthi and my Mother were born in the village of Grizata.We have a small house in the village,I use when i was young to spent many summers in this place,so i always wanted to built a new house here.

What makes this property unique

What i love in this villa is the spectacular views to the valley and to the swimming pool , also that villa is new,has all the comforts every body needs,plus the gorgeous swimming private pool.Our villa is located in the central of the island ,so it is an ideal base to explore the island and to visit many nice places of interests like Drogarati Cave, situated about 2,5km from our villa,Melissani famous underground Lake only 7 km away from our Villa,Myrtos famous beach about 20 mins drive from our villa,Antisamos gorgeous beach only 7 km away from our villa,Assos village ,Fiscardo village etc.
Also the area our villa is located is still unspoiled, it is surrounded from so much green,there is quiet,and of course the sound of the water of the small stream that flows only 200 m away(during winter and early spring time).
Not to forget that swimming in our new private swimming pool is fantastic and very relaxing.
