We are delighted that you so enjoyed your stay and look forward to seeing you back again. The pool is 12m x 6m and so you can have a good swim in it. It is currently surrounded by vines with grapes nearing picking time, which we feel gives it an added atmosphere Mosquitos, we are unable to control! They are part of life on this sub-tropical island. We do have mosquito netting on all the windows. It is important that these are closed at night before switching on the lights which attract the mosquitos. .

We are delighted that you so enjoyed the property. Madeira is a hilly island. To get to the centre of town from the property is a 15 minute walk downhill. To return is a stiff uphill walk, but there are plenty of taxis or even local buses to get you home again. We look forward to seeing you back in Madeira.

Greetings from Madeira to St Petersburg! Many thanks for these kind comments which will be useful for anyone thinking of booking one of these delightful cottages in future. As it happens, the neighbouring owners were away on holiday over the period of this booking and our taxi driver, Carlos, (who speaks perfect English) provided airport transfers, settled this couple into their cottage and was their point of contact during their stay. Ivone, the maid, is friendly and helpful but speaks only Portuguese. A comprehensive welcome handbook gives plenty of information on what is available in the local area and obviously it did its job!
