Appartement penthouse au bord de la plage au centre de Marbella, Costa Del Sol

In one of the best positions of the entire coast, our fabulous Penthouse apartment has stunning views over Marbella Marina and the beach which is a few paces from the front door. Great views even when sitting in the living/dining room and from the kitchen, and both bathrooms. You will see fabulous sunrises and sunsets and Gibraltar and North Africa often appear so close. There are equally stunning views to the mountains from the master bedroom.
Beautiful 'Old Town Marbella' and Orange Square with its wonderful shopping is 4 or five minute stroll away. You can walk along the coast to Puerto Banus along the marble Paseo Maritimo right outside our door and there are countless lovely Restaurants everywhere. The Sky Blue ferry (opposite the apartment) runs regularly between Marbella and Puerto Banus.
We offer a private parking space with lift access directly to apartment door but of course you don't need a car as you can walk everywhere!
We have recliner chairs with cushions and table for use on the terrace. There is sunshine all day. During the winter months the sun is lower in the sky and fills the living room with sun with is wonderful for relaxing and sunbathing, half in the room half on the terrace. In the summer it is higher so is only on the terrace, which keeps the apartment much cooler!
The Air con/Heater is operated by a coin in the slot system which costs 1 euro for 4 hours. It is obviously more than this to run but it is designed to make guests aware of not leaving it running with all the and doors open which would break the machine. With windows on all three sides the lovely sea breezes mean air con is not usually needed. There are ceiling fans in both bedrooms.
The beach is so pretty and clean and lovely for swimming, that a pool is not necessary. Most pools in Spain are not heated so have limited use. It is perfect for little children as it is a cove created by the Marina breakwater so has much calmer water than elsewhere and is very shallow at the edges. It is also fabulous for proper swimming for adults!
There is a lovely children's play area on the beach and two restaurants on the sand, serving food and drink to you on beach loungers if you wish.
Our beautiful cove beach is less than 30 seconds from the Front Door with beach beds/parasols and restaurants. You can also take your towel (Please bring your own Beachtowel as we don't supply them) and lie on the sand. Yoga and TaiChi are practiced regularly outside apartment. Many more beaches and beach bars are easily accessed by walking along the Paseo (or the beach of course) in either direction.
Between December and April there is great skiing 2.5 hours away in the Sierra Nevada or visit Granada and the Alhambra Palace. You can sunbathe in the morning and ski in the afternoon! . All equipment can be hired on arrival or pre-booked on internet. A perfect day trip and even night skiing!


Distances:
Puerto Banus about 10 minutes, Old Spanish town of Estepona 25 minutes. Gibraltar (Duty Free) 50 minutes. Only 15 minutes drive inland will take you to beautiful white villages such as Ojen, Monda and Cesares Its a 40 minutes drive to Ronda where you can see the oldest Bull Ring in Spain. Beautiful Mijas is about 30 minutes.
Things to do:
You must go to the famous outdoor markets of Marbella (Monday) San Pedro (Wednesday) and Puerto Banus Bullring (Saturday). Selvo Safari Park 15 minutes. The water park at Benalmadena (10 minutes) is a favourite for the kids. Also Go Karting. There is even hot air Ballooning across Andalucia! Numerous banks on Ave Ricardo Soriano (2 minutes behind us) together with all the designer shops!! Spanish Tapas bars are everywhere! Try a day trip to Morocco from Gibraltar!

The condo was beautiful and very clean. The location is excellent. It’s an easy walk to old town and lots of great restaurants. The promenade is great for morning walks and coffee at one of the many sidewalk restaurants. peta & Henry are great hosts and Janina had the condo ready for our arrival. We would definitely rent this condo again.

We really enjoyed our stay in Marbella. There is a huge choice of bars and restaurants in walking distance, so you don't need a car. Only the TV reception was sometimes poor...

The apartment superseded my expectations. The views from the apartment are stunning and the location is perfect. You can be on the beach in 2 minutes and in the ‘Old town’ in 10 minutes. Apartment is large enough for a family. I will be coming here again!

What a wonderful place and location.

Clean and convenient. Perfect for a family of 4 the terraces are stunning morning and night. We rented another place one building over as well for my in-laws. Close to beach and old town. It was perfect. Had a little ant problem but there was some spray and they didn’t come back. I think it’s was raining a lot and they were coming in through bathroom. I sprayed and they were gone!! Really a beautiful place and location couldn’t be better. Thank you for the wonderful stay

High Life in Marbella

We are regular visitors to Marbella but this was our first stay in this beachfront top floor apartment. Everything was as described with good communication with very informative owners and links to a local contact for any immediate needs. Stunning views and great sitting out on the balcony watching the world go by. It is a prime spot on seafront but it can be noisy till early hours of the morning but there is aircon so closing doors/windows means noise is barely audible and rooms remain as cool as you would like. Another enjoyable stay in Marbella - we would be happy to rent again.

You can't beat the view!!

Excellent communication with host. Incredible location, albeit noisy all hours of the day. Unparalleled views. Easy access to restaurants, services, pharmacies, gyms, groceries & Old Town. The best Gelato in the world is just west on the Paseo--Gioelia--amazing. The property itself is a bit tired, a good clearing out in the kitchen, deep cleaning overall, nice towels & bedding would put this place over the top. That said, the photos are an excellent representation of what you see every day--after a month living there, we would have to say, the best spot on the Paseo.

Great location but property not up to standard

We had to clean everything when we arrived - floors , washrooms, surfaces, inside microwave, glass table tops, etc. which is a bad start. Sheets and towels not great quality. However the owner left detailed info on everything which was very helpful. Sunrises and sunsets are beautiful as are the views and the location is close to everything.

Perfect location but bad weather!

A beautiful apartment in a central setting with wonderful sea views! Sadly 48 hours of torrential rain followed by storm force winds...that is life. However we had a restful stay and a good break which was our aim. As is not unusual with Spanish buildings, some rain got into the apartment. At one stage the heating failed, but many thanks to the housekeeper and the owner as everything was rapidly sorted out without any inconvenience. In more normal weather the apartment would be excellent.

Fantastic location

We stayed in January for winter sun and the apartment certainly gets plenty of that, overlooking the beach and great views from good sized balcony watching local volleyball and hardy swimmers. Nice touch having binoculars there for guests to use. Umbrellas provided but we didnt need to use them. King size double bed very comfortable. Washing machine very handy as we stayed a while. Local amenities on doorstep, excellent restaurants along paseo and only a five minute walk into Orange Square. Great walk into Puerto Banus for lunch along paseo 1 1/2 hours and taxi back. The heating system worked well as it got cold in the evening. We watched television which had plenty of channels to choose from. Janina the manager was very helpful and check-in very easy. We enjoyed our stay very much and will definitely return.

Not a penthouse

Upon arriving at the so called penthouse house you enter the lobby which had shall I say a very unusual smell. There are two lifts which resemble something from the 1970’s. Extremely small and so claustrophobic with no air conditioning. The apartment itself is certainly no ‘penthouse’. It is extremely tired and is in desperate need of updating. The only accurate description is that it does have good views. The render of the outside of the building is falling off so you can see the steel frame. My son actually stated it looked like the in betweeners hotel. Definitely not a penthouse!

Normally I would simply be apologising but I do feel I am entitled to say something in defence of an apartment that has been so well received in earlier reviews and with a high percentage of repeat business. Firstly, the entrance (and the lifts ) are cleaned every day and I’m not sure what the smell could be but for this I apologise. I don’t know a single apartment or office building in this part of Marbella that has air-conditioning in the common parts let alone the lifts….. so no apologies for that. Two lifts is better than one, which is proved every time somebody holds a lift on another floor, or very occasionally, one breaks down. And you are right Tom, the block was built in the late 70’s, hence the “look” but the lifts were renewed about 10 years ago. Once more, there are no apologies. Yes, there are some parts of the exterior that are waiting to be renewed. Work has been delayed to minimise the inconvenience to residents during the peak months. The metal work is visible because the plaster work has been removed to protect everybody. Not sure that I need to apologise for this but I will if it makes you feel better. I should point out that the plaster work does not contribute to the integrity of the building. And I note that your son was able to comment on this. I do hope that he didn’t stay Tom. You only paid for two people. As for the apartment, I am not going to argue about whether it’s a penthouse or not. Its on the top floor and we were told it was a penthouse when we bought it, and that’s good enough for me. What you saw on the website is exactly what you received, give or take the odd breakage or scarring which has occurred during a very busy season. We renew items every year. Last year was a new tiled floor throughout, new curtains and some other items. My advice to you Tom, if you return to Marbella, book an apartment much further to the west which is worth a few million and you will pay maybe four times as much. I am sure that you will be satisfied.

We are Henry and Peta Fletcher from Henley-on-Thames in Oxfordshire (English and Australian respectively). We are young at heart if not in body! Like many of our returning guests each year we love the time we spend in the apartment and now we are lucky to own a very special rustic villa (with a private large heated swimming pool with a telescopic cover for swimming in the winter) just ten minutes away and a few metres from the beach. (We hope to be renting this very soon also). We have been renting holiday homes on this site since 2000 and become friends with many of our guests.
