Oasis getaway in the Brandywine Valley

Welcome to "Treetops", a peaceful weekend oasis in the heart of the scenic Brandywine Valley. Perfectly located for visits to local attractions such as Longwood Gardens, Winterthur and Nemours. Easy access to Rt 202, Rt 1 and I-95. 15 min from Wilmington or West Chester and 45 min from Philadelphia. Treetops is a special home offering guests peace and tranquility, contemporary design and convenience.

The Space
"Treetops" is a home designed to blend into the beauty of its natural environment. It features an elegant living room with grand piano, formal dining room and a modern kitchen fully stocked with equipment and amenities. The library features a large TV and a variety of books, from novels to local history. An expansive deck is accessible from the kitchen, library and master bedroom and provides a stunning natural view. The master bedroom features a softer memory foam king bed and spacious en-suite bathroom with shower. The 2nd bedroom has a firmer memory foam king bed, and the guest bathroom features décor from our travels.

Guest Access
Guests will stay on the main living level of the home. The owners retain the separate lower level in-law suite with independent entrance for personal use, or long-term rental. Access between the main living level and lower living level is secured.

The Neighborhood
The beautiful Brandywine Valley and Chadds Ford offers the best of country living with easy access to Philadelphia, quaint small towns and area attractions such as Longwood Gardens, Winterthur, antique shops and local wineries.

5-10 minutes from local shopping including Whole Foods, Wegmans, Trader Joe's, Anthropologie and Terrain at Styers.
30 minutes to/from Philadelphia International Airport
45 minutes to Philadelphia

Wonderful and serene house and property

We had a great weekend at this house. It was immaculate and well-maintained, in a lovely setting with brilliant fall colors. My daughter enjoyed the Steinway piano and we all loved the solitude. The owners were quite helpful and all administrative manners went very smoothly. Everyone was agreed that we would return the next time we come back to the Brandywine Valley.

Incredibly beautiful grounds and property! More perfect than we could have imagined.

We loved our stay. It was quiet, peaceful and situated on such beautiful grounds. We had everything we needed right at our fingertips. We love to cook and it was a pleasure using the kitchen. The decor is incredibly tasteful and interesting. Everything was super clean! Garry and John were welcoming and accessible during our visit. They made us feel at home right away. We feel like we have made two new friends! The best part was the Steinway piano! As a pianist, it was so fun to spend time playing it. Thanks, Garry and John! We know we will see you again soon!

Has everything you need, including a fully stocked kitchen, airy living room, comfortable bedrooms, and a deck overlooking the woods. Stores, restaurants, and attractions (Longwood Gardens, Winterthur) are close by, but not too close. A home away from home.

A lovely house in a beautiful location

Tree Tops is a very comfortable and spacious vacation home with everything you would need for a short or long break. John was extremely hospitable and showed us how we could have free run of the home. The only negatives are: 1. That for a couple of senior citizens we found the lighting a bit too dark in the living room and the master bedroom. 2. We would have preferred some curtains or screens for the master bedroom. If we return to the area this will be a first choice.

Warm welcome and peaceful setting

We really enjoyed our stay in Chadd's Ford. The owner greeted us and showed us around. They had a fresh bouquet of flowers for our enjoying. They provided everything that we would need, including linens, and beyond that things like salt and pepper, toilet paper, soaps, which was very nice and unexpected. Very clean and comfortable. Peaceful setting with woods all behind the house. Very interesting decor with artifacts from South Africa. Quiet neighborhood, but just a mile or so from the main drag with restaurants and grocery stores. We spent one day in the Amish Country near Lancaster, and two days touring Philly. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars was that all the walls are painted a dark color and there didn't seem to be enough light for our taste. My husband has more trouble seeing these days and prefers more light. Minor inconvenience overall.

Beautiful house, wonderful stay

Garry and John have a beautiful home that was also comfortable and very well situated for our vacation. This was the perfect combination for our visit to Brandywine Valley, as we were within a short drive to everything we'd planned to do and could fully relax when we returned to the house for the evening. We thank them much for sharing their home, as it definitely enhanced our overall experience.

Perfectly beautiful setting for an extraordinary weekend visit to Chadds Ford and environs!

Our family reunion took place in and around Kennett Square, Longwood Gardens, Chadds Ford, and the Wilmington, DE area. Gary and John's home was ideally-located and is lovely....clean, comfortable, contemporary, beautifully-situated, and well-equipped for any and all needs. The grounds and setting are quiet, peaceful, and extraordinarily lovely (sitting out on the back deck, looking out through the trees and down the hill to the stream below, with birdsong, breezes, sunshine and cicadas was as amazing as you could imagine!) Beds are wonderfully comfortable, kitchen is a chef's dream. John and Gary are terrific hosts, and very solicitous of any possible needs. We'd stay here again in a heartbeat, and will!

Fantastic location and beautiful house. The owners thought of everything were very nice/accomodating

Our stay at this lovely home with scenic views helped make our son's West Chester graduation weekend a memorable experience. I would highly recommend this location to others and would definitely stay there again if we have the opportunity.
