We had a wonderful stay at this charming and authentic cottage in Sorrento. It felt like a true little haven, perfect for relaxing and enjoying nature. The host was very accommodating with check-in times and provided a thorough orientation of the property, which made settling in so easy. The cottage itself is sweet, cozy, and rustic—ideal for anyone looking for an authentic holiday experience on the beautiful Mornington Peninsula.

Homely, comfortable & quirky

Lovely cottage close to the back beach, central to Sorrento Sailing Coûta boat club and the high street. Well equipped with interior decs that bring a smile to your face. Very spacious. A warm welcome from our host with easy & flexible check in and check out. Will stay again!

Sorrento beach cottage in perfect location

My favourite beach cottage in Victoria! This is the perfect cottage for a beach getaway on the peninsula. The cottage has a quirky ocean theme with beautiful shell lamps, retro pictures and statues outside. My friends loved the decor and I would imagine children would have a fun time there too. The yard is great for a BBQ or drinks. I always head up to Koonya lookout for a wine and cheese sunset, this is a quick 5 minute walk from the cottage. Koonya beach is a lovely ocean walk and a great hidden gem away from busier beaches. The cottage is only a 50 minute hike to Bridgewater Bay and has access to other hikes, no need to drive, you can walk straight to the tracks from the cottage. It's also a short drive to the Hot Springs, Blairgowrie pier for a dive/snorkel and the Sorrento main strip of restaurants and shops. Ray is great host and has a fountain of knowledge on the peninsula. This is perfect for a relaxing or adventure weekend in a well priced clean beach cottage.

Beach getaway

Comfortable getaway..good location.a bit quirky....we enjoyed the front verandah, BBQ and garden, the short walk to the beach. Unusual floor plan works for a family, but lack a little privacy, for older couples.

Unpretentious beach house

Great holiday house with lovely owners. It's not five-star but it's perfectly comfortable and full of charm. It's in a great location too. A beautiful, wild surf beach with rockpools is just five minutes walk away.

Our beach cottage Summer getaway

We spent 8 nights in this gorgeous Koonya cottage over the Summer holidays. It was the perfect location and cottage for my husband and two boys. It was close to the Koonya general store and loved the secret beach access path to the national park. It really was a superb place and we can't wait to visit it again soon. Raymond was the best host, he even delivered us a printer when we requested if he had one. Than you for having us, we really did love our time at your Koonya cottage. Thanks for having us. Charming back beach cottage

What a gem this little cottage is! Ray and Wendy are fabulous hosts, very friendly and welcoming and I was met in person by Ray upon checkin. The cottage is spotlessly clean and beautifully maintained. There is so much to look at with all the collectibles scattered around the place. The photos don’t do it justice. The gardens are lovely to sit in and I was lulled to sleep by the nearby ocean at night. Fabulous walking tracks and access to the beach to explore too. A great place to rest and relax! I’ll be back.

Quirky cottage

clean and comfortable, good beds and good shower. Main criticism would be the overuse of perfume sticks through the house. Maybe trying to hide a smell, but we took them all out and it smelt fine.

Kooky 70,s style Beach Shack,,Good location to back beach, although Koonya not an ideal swimming spot,, For the price, i would suggest owner supply all bedding, a couple of quality products such as coffee pot /fresh coffee/salt / pepper and decent cooking oil,,, all else good

Great place for a beach weekend

Enjoyed our too short time on the Peninsula. Thank you Ray for your communication and allowing the late check out. Great location for us -a short walk to the beach and short drive into Sorrento. My friend enjoyed playing the records and I enjoyed sitting out the front on the porch / in the private garden. The echidna we encountered on our walk to the beach was a highlight.

Koonya Cottage

Personally, we had a lovely stay at the Koonya Cottage. Raymond met us at the property and showed us around, also kindly pointed us to the walking trail around the neighbourhood. It has what we need. The property is located in a quiet zone, walking distance (around 3 mins) to nearby General Store, around 8mins drive to nearby Woolworths and IGA. Around 3mins walk to Koonya Ocean beach. The walking trails lead to different lookouts with rock pools and beaches like the Bridgewater beach. And loved the garden, you can spot the little rabbits hopping around. We enjoyed the stay very much and will come back again. Thanks Raymond and Wendy.
