About this property

Yurt by Sea, Moruya Heads

The Yurt is a charming 22 sided, two storey round house situated at the peaceful and secluded Moruya Heads. It is nestled between two great beaches (both within walking distance), set on a spacious block that backs onto the Moruya River reserve and is on a quiet road that leads to the beach and lagoon.

The heads is home to many permanent residents and it is important to us that guests at the yurt are respectful of the local community. While we welcome families and small groups, we ask that you are mindful of the neighbours and keep noise to a minimum.

The Yurt has plenty of space for all to relax and enjoy the coastal life. The top floor contains a large living area, with comfy couches; a large dining area with an open kitchen and access to the back deck. Downstairs, there are four bedrooms; the bathroom and laundry (both with toilets), and access to our fantastic outdoor shower.

Linen is not provided. There are plenty of doonas (with covers), pillows and blankets in the bedrooms. You will need to supply your own sheets, pillow cases and towels.

Outside the Yurt...
Take a three minute stroll through a delightful bush path through national park to pristine Shelley Beach, walk around the headland or meander to Dolphin Beach. Watch the migration of whales in Spring and look out for our resident seals frolicking just off the headland.

There are so many things to do: swimming; fishing; walking along the beach, lagoon or headland; reading and relaxing on the deck; enjoying the view of the bush, distant mountains and birdlife and hearing the delighted squeals of the local gang-gangs.

Our adult family loved the space, tranquillity and vibe. We went walking to the headland and beaches every day and made use of the well-equipped kitchen. It had everything we needed.

the house was spacious, bedrooms downstairs, and living room on top with well equipped kitchen.

We were 4 women artists ranging in age from 60 - 86. We found the entry to the house down a slippery slope difficult with luggage and felt that there should be steps cut into the slope to provide a safer entry and exit. The bedside light I had in my room was inadequate for reading in bed. We enjoyed the proximity to the beach and were able to have lovely walks close to the house.

A wonderful getaway.

The yurt was a great place for friends to spend a weekend. We cooked all our meals in the kitchen (with produce from the local Saturday farmers market) and all the kitchen basics were there as well as a great selection of pots/pans/knives etc. During the day we walked down to the beach and swam with a dolphin. We had the beach mostly to ourselves. Thanks Carolyn for such a comfortable and thoughtful property in a beautiful location. We really loved our stay.

A great house with plenty of room. One bathroom was a bit tricky with the 6 of us. The outdoor shower is great but we didn’t get to use it as we had rainy weather. Beds were comfy.

This is our second stay at Yurt by sea and we loved it. Such a peaceful and relaxing place to stay with a short walk to amazing beaches. The yurt is unique and very cosy. A perfect stay before having to return to the craziness of the world at the moment.

Great escape for the family

We loved this place. Really enjoyed the open space at the top of the property, there is no internet, which suited us as we needed to escape. We introduced the kids to DVDs and had family time for a change in front of the tv. Close to the beach and bushland. Couldn't pass going to Moruya markets for donuts and pizza. Thank you, we look forward to another visit.
