This home is a beautiful retreat on Lake Missaukee, which is a sandy, all-sports lake, perfect for kids of all ages. Lake Missaukee is the most desirable vacation destination for families because of its shallow, clear, and sandy bottom. The variety of water sports is unlimited. Enjoy sailing, water skiing, fishing, or relaxing on the hammock overlooking the lake. Our family has been staying here for four generations and we want to share some of that joy and memories with you! You won't need to get into your car all week. A quick 3 block walk into town will bring you to restaurants, ice cream shops, City Park Amphitheater with music in the park on Thursdays, and the new city fishing and boat dock. Lake City's renowned county park is only a short stroll down the beach with beach volleyball, playground equipment, boardwalk, and county historical museum and campgrounds. This neighborhood is the most sought-after on Lake Missaukee because of its great location to town, parks, and local attractions and festivals. The Greatest Fourth in the North, car show in August, and the Festival of Pines in September. This is a perfect spot for multi-generational families with a first-floor master, a large master bath, and a view of the lake. Upstairs there is an additional family room and TV for movies nights when you can't agree on one movie for the whole family. Send the little ones upstairs and enjoy a card game around the large dining table with your older crew. This house is perfect for every age from grandparents to brand new babies. Swing on the hammock, play yard games and work on your tan at this beautiful home!

Here are a few of the amenities included in our home!

- All towels and bedding are provided...Just bring your clothes!

- Pot, pans, and any other utensils you might need for cooking

- Indoor and outdoor toys for little ones and a wide variety of outdoor beach chairs and games

- Pack and play, highchair and kids dishes and cups

- Firepit with a beautiful view of the lake

-6 Bedrooms: One 1st floor master with queen, one first floor bedroom with pull-out couch with full, upstairs full bedroom, 2 upstairs queen bedrooms, and a bunkroom.

- Two family rooms with TVs and DVD players and a large video library. Cable TV down only and master bedroom, 5G wireless internet.

- Nearby activities include shopping, restaurants, tennis, volleyball, and golf. Traverse City is a 50-minute drive with a number of restaurants, breweries, wineries, and a shopping mall

Arrival and Departure: During the peak summer months (End of May - Beginning of September) renters may only book a minimum of seven days. Check-in will be on Saturdays. Check-in is at 4:00 and check-out is 10:00.

Payment in full at time of booking. The owner will mail the rental contract and will need to be filled out and mailed back or the week could be canceled. The owner will sign it and mail you back copy.

Wonderful Lake vacation!!

This property is very well taken care of from the inside out. The owners put a lot of thought into everything. There is so much to do. We even rented a pontoon boat and jet ski and everyone had a blast. Great place for large family.

Great Lake Vacation

We had a wonderful time! Wayne was very easy to work with and very prompt, answering any questions we had. The house was spacious enough for all four of our families to spread out. House was well stocked. The beach and yard was very nice...shallow, clean sandy bottom, yard games. My teens spend hours in the hammock and tree swing! Would definitely rent again!

Family reunion

We really enjoyed everything at this house. With the family together is was like home. It was equipped with everything we needed. We all spent hours by and in the lake playing. We had rented a pontoon boat and toured the lake and did some fishing . Also the sunsets were beautiful. Thankyou The Arthur’s

Lake City, MI cottage gets a high five!

So much more than a cottage. This home is well maintained, CLEAN, comfortable and has everything you need for a relaxing lake vacation. Kitchen is efficient and extra refrigeration is available in the garage. Beach is right out the door, convenient outdoor shower, beach towels, floats, sand toys, and other outdoor games provided. Wonderful family friendly rental. Wanted to stay all summer. Owners are very hospitable and kind.

Great family vacation

This was our first visit to Lake City. Everything about the house, amenities and location exceeded our expectations. The house was very nice and spacious with everything that we needed. The yard was beautiful and with the addition of swings, a fire pit and outdoor games we all enjoyed a lot of time there and at the beach. The sandy beach and clear water was perfect for our grandkids. Plus, there were a lot of sand toys, umbrellas and a paddleboard to entertain everyone, It was also really nice to be able to walk a couple blocks into town. Wayne and Marilyn were very gracious hosts and we would love to return to their beautiful home.

Very Helpful Owner

VERY clean home and lovely people. Wayne gave us a great fishing spot and our children had hours of fun playing in the sandy beach. The warm outdoor shower was such a blessing in helping keep the sand outside! If you rent please note this a fully stocked home! I can’t think of anything we needed that wasn’t available. Thanks Wayne & Marilyn!

Home away from home.

This was truly a home away from home! There was everything you could possibly need, and more. We didn’t need to bring floats for the lake,or sand toys for the beach, it was all there. Not to mention a trunk full of toys inside that was a blessing to have, especially on the rainy days. In a nutshell, it was all that we had hoped for. A relaxing week at the beach with the family.

Perfect Lake Stay with Family

We just returned from a great Lake City, Michigan stay. I would recommend this location and rental for any family looking to vacation away from the city. The home is very nice and extremely well organized and equipped. We saved a lot of money because we didn't have to buy vacation items like rafts, games, kitchen utensils, etc. The house was far nicer than other rentals. The yard is beautiful and a perfect venue for hours of fun including corn-hole and campfires. The owners have setup their home to make everything easier including an outdoor shower. The sandy bottom lake turned out to be perfect for swimming and water fun. All and all this was a great venue to make new memories with our kids and family who came in from other parts of the state.

Lovely Beach House!

This beach house is much more than just a house, it is a home! It is meticulously maintained inside and out. Super clean with all the comforts of home. The adults enjoyed the fire pit in the evening and the kidos had a blast riding trikes in the large driveway. The beach and lake are amazing, so clean and shallow, perfect for little ones to safely swim. Definitely a great find, don’t hesitate to book your stay, this is a gem.

Great Vacation Memories are Made Here

We had a wonderful time at Wayne and Marilyn's home in Lake City. The home was clean and very nice to stay in for the week we were there. The lawn is beautiful and we could enjoy all the comforts of home. Wayne and Marilyn are great hosts and we could use all the beach chairs and toys. We took walks to the ice cream shop, played tennis, did all the water things including fishing. Thanks for all the fun times and memories our kids and grandkids will remember fondly. We really appreciate all you do to make it a great vacation.

Wonderful Week

We had a wonderful week of vacation in Lake City. The house was very clean and well maintained. It had everything you could ask for in a vacation rental. The outside lawn and beach access were perfect for all the kids. We enjoyed smores by the campfire and relaxing in the hammock. If you are looking for a memorable week by the lake, then this is the house to rent.

SPOTLESS AND BEAUTIFUL!

We have rented many homes on HomeAway before, but this was by far the best rental! From the moment you walk in the door you feel like you are at home. Wayne and Marilyn are the nicest people and provide all the comforts of home, all you need to do is bring your clothes. The house, the yard and the lake are absolutely beautiful! The pictures do not do it justice. Even though the beach is public, we saw only 2 people the entire week. It is very private so no need to worry. The location is excellent, close enough to many attractions. I highly recommend the drive to Mackinac. Thank you so much Wayne and Marilyn for a wonderful family vacation and we look forward to coming back!

A Hidden Gem !

Wayne & Marilyn......Thank you for sharing your beautiful Home with our Family. This was our second Family trip to Upper Michigan and this trip far exceeded our expectations. Lake Missaukee was the perfect location for a relaxing get away. Everyone loved the Beach and spectacular views from the patio.The kids all found their favorite fishing spots and watersports activities. Everything was just so convenient in Lake City, all just a 5 minute walk away. We have already told our friends about your home and we expect to be back again in the near future.......Thanks for Everything ! Mike K..........Chicago P.S....The new Internet Service worked perfectly. Everyone was able to check up on e mail and connect their Tablets with no problems.

Awesome Vacation Property

We loved staying in this beautiful home. Everything was immaculately clean and furnished with high quality furnishings. It's located in a very quiet neighborhood with a beautiful sandy beach. The landscaping was so beautiful we felt like we were living in a park. It truly is a home away from home, and comes complete with everything you need.

Memories were made!

If we could judge our next vacation home by the chatter in the car on the way home, this home was the perfect vacation abode. We had been looking for a first time full family vacation home accommodating ages 3m to 91! We found it in Wayne and Marilyn's lovely home. If cleanliness is truly next to Godliness. We were in heaven! Very clean, warmly decorated with family pictures and cozy charm. With the full house amenities to wood for the fire pit we wanted for absolutely nothing. The size was perfect for our family of 10 and an infant. A lovely lake view bedroom on the main floor close to a bath was perfect for Great Grandma. An extra TV room upstairs was great for the kiddos for special movie watching. The landscaping was beautiful and having only to walkout the back door for beach access was perfect. For the timid first timers the shallow warm water with sandy bottom was absolutely wonderful! The home had access to other wonderful memory makers as well. We won't forget the nightly walks to the best ice cream in town just down the road one way. The children thoroughly enjoyed other walks to the park just a walk around the corner the opposite. This home had so many wonderful attributes. Wayne and Marilyn were so very nice and you can tell they have a great pride in their home. We thank them so very much for sharing it with us.

AMAZING VACATION

This is an amazing home! Our week at this home was like being at home only better! Our party of 10 were extremely comfortable. The kids (ages 2-15) took advantage of the lake, loved the nightly walk to the Tasty Treat for ice cream, the short walk to the park, and loved all of the activities in the quaint downtown just a short walk away. We have extended family in Lake City and enjoyed being able to visit with them without the hassel of asking them for a spare cot. The lake is fantastic for tubing, water skiing, fishing or just a leisure boat ride. This home is perfect for a family getaway or an adult getaway. All of the amenities are provided, and a few extras stowed away in the garage. We will be enjoying this lake home for our summer family vacation every year! Thank you Wayne and Marilyn for opening your home so our family can create amazing, life long, generational memories.

BEST VACATION EVER!

We wanted to have our first ever family reunion but didn't know where to go. After much searching we were fortunate enough to find this house on the same lake as my brother's cottage. He couldn't house all of us, so we split up between the two homes. We spent most of our time here with his jet skis and boat, and were able to have family meals together, walks into town, beautiful campfires, sunsets, and just a host of other amenities. This house was perfect for us because of the 2 refrigerators, the kitchen that had ever gadget possible, 2 full bathrooms, washer & dryer, everything we left behind at home. We were able to play family games outside on the beautiful lawn, along with a large garage and picnic tables. We didn't want for anything! The decorations in the home and the landscaping are absolutely beautiful! You can tell that Marilyn & Wayne are very proud of their own family and their lovely home. The beds were extremely comfortable and the rooms were just picturesque. Memories were made that won't ever be forgotten. All of us want to thank Marilyn & Wayne for helping to make our vacation the BEST VACATION EVER! God's blessings to you and your family!!

Excellent!

We had the best experience at Wayne and Marilyn's house on the lake! The house was roomy, comfortable, and clean. We loved having the extra refrigerator in the garage and access to a washing machine and dryer! The yard is gorgeous and the hammock and tree swing were favorite resting and reading spots for us! Thanks so much for opening your house to us - we treasure our week with our siblings and nieces and nephews and we had the perfect place to spend that week!

Lake City Rental

We had a wonderful week at Wayne and Marilyn's place. The house was spacious, the yard was large and very well maintained, the lake was great. There were 8 of us and we had plenty of room. The house was very nice and very clean and full of all amenities. The kids (we had 4 with us) LOVED the close proximity to Tasty Treat. They walked there many times and had ice cream every day. Lake Missaukee is a wonderful lake for families with small children - shallow and warm. Even without having a private beach (the beach is right in front, it's public), it was no big deal. There was plenty of room when other people came down to swim. It was as if it was their private beach. We would recommend this vacation house. We had a great week with our family and have many good memories. Wayne and Marilyn are super nice and very accomodating.

Justin and I are third-generation owners of this family home. Our family is made up of 7 children ranging from 25 - 5 years old and our primary residence is just 10 minutes from this home! We have enjoyed many summers swimming in the waters of Lake Missaukee, sunning on the beach, and walking into town for ice cream. Our whole family loves this house and enjoys all the activities that the town and beach have to offer. This is a great vacation spot for us and we know you and your family will love it just as much as we do!

You will love our location! A three-block walk to the Town center and the largest cones in the north at the Tasty Treat. The Missaukee County Park is right behind our house and a great place for a family walk to the playground, sand volleyball courts for the teens, and the Historical Museum for the adults. Our location on the lake is shallow, warm, and sandy which makes it a great playing area for small children. The kids will love the quiet street for biking and the nearness to the park. Parents will love not having to haul anything down to the beach and watching kids swim from the comfort of the front patio. You won't find a better location in Lake City.
