Thank you Nicki for having taken your time to leave a review. After I gave you a full refund of your stay, and you checked out, I had pest control come in to take care of the situation. Please note that there was no "infestation" as you wrote. According to the pest control, the bed bugs where pretty recent and where limited to one area, and thankfully easily eradicated for this reason. You being a nurse should know that bed bugs can happen even in the best of 5 star hotels and resorts. All it takes is one guest to bring a bed bug to your home/property but thankfully the issue has been taken cared of. In terms of the cleanliness of the property, I recall you messaging me upon checking in to let me know that everything looked good and that you where satisfied with the property. This property is strictly a pet free and smoke free property so there couldn't have been a "dog smell". As you yourself noted to me, the property has excellent reviews for cleanliness. The carpet does indeed have some stains that a prior guest left. For this reason it has been scheduled for it to be replaced with luxury vinyl planks. They will be replaced this coming week. I always ask all the guests to please contact me should there be any issues with the property, as you did when you called me at 1:30AM and I answered your call. I immediately did everything I could to make the situation better for you. I even stayed up until 3AM helping you look for another vacation rental for you and your family. Unfortunately there are things that are out of my control, like the fact that any guest can bring a beg bug as a travel companion on his or her luggage. You yourself told me you are exposed to beg bugs on the hospital you work so you could also unknowingly travel with bed bugs. All I can do is my best to make things right for the guest and immediately take care of the situation as was the case in this instance. I honestly think you shouldn't use terms like infestation when that is not the case. It only attracts negativity when the situation was made right for you, even though you left the property in a very dirty state for the 2 nights you and your family spent there, and pest control was called to take care of the situation. As stated before, this property has always received excellent reviews for cleanliness and we have never had a situation like this before your stay.
